too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
If this stuff about Pirlo is actually true, Paolo had to go.

I hope it's not true.
I would add this as speculation unless Maldini states it himself. I doubt there is any truth in it, journalists love to speculate.
Sure but being a yes man means he has to change. That’s what I’m waiting for, to see Pioli adapt to what Moncada wants. If he stays stubborn then he needs to go.
If the same issues persist with the choices of Moncada and Pioli then it will confirm where the real issues were. Secondly it will confirm Maldini and Massara being pushed out was purely about a disagreement over the budget being offered by RedBird.

In truth we will never really know what transpired to bring about the changes. The next season will reveal all. Sit back and see what unfolds.

Forza Milan ⭐⭐❤️🖤🏆🤞

I have a feeling Theo is gone soon either to PSG/Madrid or Bayern if they lose Davies. 75-80mil .

buy Kerkez back for 15-18mil (we have first option on him plus counts as homegrown academy player)

Mazzocchi ~ 6-7mil who can play lb and rb and is attacking fb.

Hojlund who for me is the absolute perfect striker for us with his work rate , strength , hold up , dribbling , running channels , bringing others into play , assists and obviously very good finishing.. he’s young and very good natural fitness. And he presses hard aswell which Pioli will have a hard on for I’m sure.

Maldini didn’t want to sell, he wanted to build a perfect team.
Perfect team ?
Then explain how half the team need to be removed ?
If you said that last summer then maybe.
But Maldini failed to solve our RW for years & we can add AM & DM position.
If anything the squad is getting weaker.
Pirlo ?
Come on , since he took full power he seems to lost the plot.
And that got nothing to do with his legendary status.

Adama traore on a free isn’t a bad bet I think. Imagine being a goal up and having Rafa and adama on wings to sit back and counter with
No. We don't need oily bodybuilder. Fast stupid player.

I disagree. Theo and leao are the two main pillars of the team, I also think he will stay here for long if not his whole career (just my opinion).

Ancelotti was interviewed by Il Giornale and was asked for his thoughts that his former team-mate and player has been sacked from his role, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“I learned in Madrid that the history of a club must always be respected. Here Di Stefano, Amancio, Gento, Puskas are still exclusive values towards which we have reverence,” he said.

“To preserve history at the highest levels, the memory of the past must be protected. What happened with Maldini demonstrates a lack of historical culture, of respect for the Milan tradition. While it is true that history does not make you win it is also true that history teaches you how to win.

“Football clubs who primarily think of doing business ahead of sporting achievements and spirit are destined to fail. Patronage no longer has the meaning of before but profiteering is negative.”

Some one is getting sacrificed for sure.. unless some one stumps up 40+mil for tomori I can’t see who else. 3-4 big clubs desperately want a left back and I’m sure the Maldini dismissal has hit Theo hardest. He would want to leave if a big offer came in.

Maldini had quite a few fails but what Im 100% sure is that he would fight like a madman against the sale of any of our main 3 players (Mike, Theo, Rafa).

With this management I think its very possible we sell anyone of them for a good profit.

Theo loves Italy and Milano. His wife is Italian. His son was born in Milano. Moving to Munchen is surely not his top priority. Madrid already treated him like shit. PSG spent 50 m on a LB just last summer.

That's my opinion too. Each agent should also blow his cock through a glory hole before he is allowed in the room and see his whole body. In real life it is a little different.

why are ppl trying to convince themselves that players are crushed by maldini's firing?
they're all on vacation and living it up. enjoying summer. maldini is a small part of why these guys play here... they're here because we're milan. and because they're paid well to be here.

You don't need to minimize his effect on the players because you have a big shakeup to hype.

Scaroni in the interview said

We were talking about Pioli: his figure comes out strengthened, yet there was a moment, after Spezia, in which Maldini wanted to exempt him (and among the names he had also thought of Pirlo).

"I don't want to express myself on the idea of the exemption, but yes absolutely, Pioli is central to the project".

he didn't say that was false he said he does not want to express himself

Pirlo rumors seem to have some legs. Pellegatti mentioned it too and he said that news came from very trusted sources. However I don't trust Pellegattis sources as much as he does. Keyword #Laudisa

More surprisingly tho Longoni too talked about that rumor. Longoni usually tends to be super sceptical in regards to Redbird and he admits that he has a hard time believing what he's been told, but he says that said source is usually spot on and that the source swore him Pirlo replacing Pioli was actually way more than just an idea but a very concrete scenario way more likely to happen than Pioli staying.

Boh...

Pioli is here for the same reason Maldini stayed last season. Transition.

They used Maldini to transition and keep things together in a year when a change of ownership happened. But it's now clear that whatever "agreement" Maldini and Gerry made last summer, in Gerry's mind it was only done so that Maldini would sign the extension. But he never intended on continuing with that model. I'm certain he always knew the way ahead wasn't going to be with Maldini long term. Gerry's a piece of shit.

Now he is doing the same with Pioli. They are making the same comments about Pioli now that they made for Paolo last year. "He is very important, he is central to the project, blah blah". Fast forward one year, and I bet Pioli is gone....unless he wins a major title.

This makes a lot of sense actually.

i'm not minimizing anything. i have no doubt at all that some players are upset by his firing. none at all.
but to the point that they dont want to be at the club? gimme a break man, that's such a load of nonsense.

Fair enough. I obviously want Theo to stay. Hopefully he can. We need Newcastle to stump up 50mil for Tomori and make a cb paiding we were dreaming of last year at milan lol. Botman -tomori

I will say a few things for the last time and let you have your meltdowns in peace.

1. We run the club at profit. Something which is absolutely insane for Italian football. And we are doing it without major sales. Our rival clubs like merda, ladri and Roma bleed 100-150 m a year despite often selling players for big bucks or book cooking. Napoli are probably healthy financially, but I doubt they are run at profit. Actually I am not sure if there are any big clubs running at profit. Maybe only Dortmund but it is due to them constantly selling important players. There is no need to sell starters.

2. Sacking Maldini, as unpleasant as it was, is very well planned. We're talking about people from the top of the corporate world. They don't make split-second emotional decisions. Numerous reports emerged (if we believe them) that Maldini was requesting impossible things. Apparently it wasn't a money thing, but about power. He couldn't accept that he won't be the only person in charge, which is kind of absurd. He is just an employee after all.

3. Milan still has good pull even without Maldini. We proved that we are back. Scudetto + CL semi final is better than what many other big clubs achieved these past 2 years - Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Ladri, Atletico. You can even throw in PSG as well as they have no competition in France and winning the league is no news at all.

4. Players will not request transfers because Maldini left. They signed for Milan. They are all proud to play for Milan. Maldini being sacked is not good news for them, as apparently they love him being around, but they all have long contracts (at least till 2026 - Theo and Maignan) and even if some of them hand transfer requests, they will be honored only if we receive adequate offers. We are not forced to sell anyone.

5. We have a lot of deadwood to move which will free up a lot of money.
A - Wage releases - Dest 6 m wages, Baka 4.6 m wages, Ibrahimovic - 2 m wages, Vranckx - 2 m wages, Brahim - 2 m wages, Vasquez - 0.3 m wage. 17 m freed up which is more than enough for 4 players with 3 m wages which is usually what we pay for most of our starters
B - Sales - Rebic 5 m + 4.5 m wages, Origi - 5 m + 5 m wages + many others like Salad, CDK, FBT, Florenzi, Pobega, Gabbia, Kjaer, etc. that may leave due to various reasons.

6. Cardinale has zero interest in stripping down the club. His only interest is the club doing fine, having a strong squad and having the stadium issue finally settled. Only then he can sell for big bucks.

In short, there's no reason to have meltdowns now. Let's give them at least 1 month and see how they decide to proceed. Believe me, if they sell Maignan or Theo and replace them with a kid that nobody has ever heard of, I will be the first one to shit on Furlani and Cardinale's heads.
If Maignan hands in a transfer request there are two excellent Italian keepers that we could look at: Carnesecchi (23 yrs old) from Cremonese, but owned by Atalanta, and Di Gregorio (25) from Monza who previous to this past season was voted best goal keeper in Serie B. Monza got Cragni on loan from Cagliari but he couldn't beat Di Gregorio, born in Milan, for the starting spot. We already have Sportiello who beat out Musso at Atalanta and started 14 games for that club. Obviously they don't compare to Maignan but at least he won't be replaced by scrubs. With 60/70 millions received for Mike minus the 15 or so for the new keeper we could finance our mercato and go for bigger targets.

One more thing re CDK: I believe you that CDK is or was a darling of Moncada. I wouldn't have minded CDK for the initial 15-20M either. And I said at the time, that's a lot of money for a player from the Belgian league already, no matter how talented he may be. People were all over me, saying we need to take risks and he's young and will be easy to sell for a profit if it doesn't work out and that's just what big clubs do. I didn't agree, and when Maldini decided raise the offer even to 35M for him, I think I was one of the first and only ones from #teamPositivity who at least discussed Maldini's abilities as technical director.
I was reading Baresi's interview and it stuck out to me when he said Milan needs a strong and balanced squad to compete across all fronts. I assume that is a viewpoint shared by the new management

And based on Maldini's last summer I'm not sure how much he valued that. The Charles goose chase was such an oddity compared to how the club has operated up til this point. When has Maldini ever spent the entire summer chasing one player and blown 70% of the budget on him? Never when Gazidis was in charge

We're getting bits and pieces about what went wrong and what the new Milan will look like. I think this summer Maldini would have chased SMS and blown most of the budget on him and I don't think he would have been necessarily wrong in this pursuit. But that's not what ownership wants

I think we go back to the days of having shots at promising young players in the 15-25m range which has been lacking these past few mercatos

Pirlo

fuck me I didn't think I was close at all

@Gazzetta_it explains the coach has indicated the areas of intervention, namely a MF, RW, an AM & CF, several names in his sight, including Kamada, Loftus-Cheek, Baldanzi, Pulisic, Marcus Thuram and Watford striker Sarr.

Gonna be interesting to see how we can pull this off with a '35M budget'.

I'm glad we're looking for a mother fucker!

Forgive me sometimes I'm still a bloody stupid child.

Corriere della Sera clairfies that when Scaroni said we would sell some players he meant redundacies and not starting players. Players that Maldini and Massara wanted to sell too

See @patosheva ? :)

okafor and our medical team is a worry

Haha. I'm hyped for Okafor but can't deny you're right concerning Piolis team of butchers.

Cool.
