There are far too many to name past & present
I didn't know that, but another element to the Jackson-Kerr story was the undercurrent of race involved, at least that's what I remember.

I'm not a big American sports fan, but I remember a lot of noise around Kerr being given the job.
From my understanding of the situation was that Mark Jackson lost his job for non basketball reasons. His behaviour was a concern for management between language he was using and most likely conflicts behind the scenes. Kinda like a similar situation that we shall not name. Lol

While Jackson laid the foundations like the defence the Warriors were never winning with that style of play ISO.. The best thing they did was hire Kerr and him implementing the motion offence.

Also remember Jerry West was at GSW as a consultant at the time so if anyone understood about building a championship winning team it would be him.

Didn't Marcus Thuram spit that one player on the face and got banned? Not very classy

Damn I didn’t know that. He did that during peak covid period as well

That would explain why Paolo didn’t want him.

Another negative with Paolo leaving, these corporate guys will just look at results solely and ignore the human element. Paolo made sure to hire players who not only were quality but represented Milan properly.

That’s why I always felt 100% safe with him. He builds a family.

I do trust Pioli with this though, I’m sure he’ll pick the better characters. He definitely wouldn’t want to deal with another Rebic/Dest situation.

With that said, Thuram did apologise and one bad incident shouldn’t define him. So let’s give him a chance

They should be relegated because their owners spend and are willing to cover losses while Milan's owners are a bunch of bitches?? Serie A doesn't even have any FFP like rules. At the most UEFA can ban them from Europe, but even UEFA has never banned any team from CL to date because of FFP violations.

FFP is used more as an excuse by cheap owners to not spend.
Well i remember we have been banned in 2018-2019

Get ready for this in a few years but replace Paqueta with CDK doing that goofy dance after he wins trophies with some English side or Bayern. Hopefully Milan fans remember then when we called him a dork and a loser.

I don't think we need to worry about CDK dancing.

Doing well for teams other than Milan? Yes.

Dancing? No.

From UEFA cup not CL. Even that was overturned by the court. And then the next season Milan voluntarily agreed to not take part in the UEFA CUP / Europa League to play nice with UEFA since Europa League doesn't really give much money. And since then the FFP rules were made more lax as well.

Has any club been banned from CL for FFP?

But if this is going to be "a group" effort now, why would we blame one single person (Moncada) if things go wrong? We need to fire everyone then. Moncada, The little midget Furlani, Pioli and the entire "analytics" team. Right? Isn't that the point of getting rid of Maldini? To share responsibility?

And they bought no one apart from Kebab for free, Dzeko for free, Mikytharian for free and Lukaku on loan. Their road to Istanbul has been Porto, Benfica and fifth place Milan, easiest road ever. They are nothing special and it would be a miracle for them to keep the current players let alone buy new players

So let me get this straight. They are “going down” but still managed to sign players that actually performed, finished above us in the league, knocked us out of the domestic cup and then knocked us out of the CL to go into the CL final.

Which teams looks good in this instance?

According to @90min_Football the negotiations for Loftus Cheek are progressing well. During the talks, Chelsea would have asked for information on Maignan, however encountering fierce resistance from #Milan who is not willing to give up the goalkeeper

Raised my expectations, obviously.

When Mark Jackson was fired, and Steve Kerr, who had never coached before, was given his job it was a controversial appointment. If Kerr didn't win, the choice would have been shit on constantly.

I've been told Moncada is the true genius to our rebuild and if he was listened to we would have Enzo, Muani, and Kvara.

So like Jackson to Kerr, I expect a massive leap. If he doesn't succeed immediately, I will question the decision, rightfully.

Oh, and of course, I'm going to be an asshole about it.

Moncada gets one transfer window and one season.

I'm not going to give him credit for signing free agents, especially ones we were linked with constantly while Maldini was in charge. If we needed to convince a free agent player to come to Milan, pretty sure Maldini is better than Moncada at that.

Moncada has to ensure we finish in 1st in Serie A and progress farther in the CL than we did under Maldini. Otherwise the choice did not work. Moncada has one season to do this.

Just using people's metrics here, sorry.
Oh no , Moncada is gonna be devastated reading this.

Interesting.

Quick question: do you think Ancelotti underachieved with the Milan he coached?
Not at all. He might have one one or two more scudettos but we are very consistent in CL. Five years in a row at least SF. In additional please do not forget to he made players out of Gattuso, Pirlo and Seedorf. Prior to Ancelottie forming once of the best midfield in the history of football, Prilo was a failed Inter AMC loaned to Bressica and Reggina when he could not score a goal. We got him almost for free, toghther with Seedord exchanging likes of Brncic, Coco and Umit Davala for them. Also he made both Sheva and Kaka golden balls. Kaladze was another player he made almost a WC. He came from D. Kiev for peanuts.. and even Inzaghi was puchased at half price using Zenoni in exchange. Only Nesta and Rui Costa were true investment at that time. Kaka was purchase as a backup for Rui Costa for 8M. Players like Stam, Cafu, Crespo we purchases in their late career stages for insiginficant amoutn of money or loaned from other clubs. That being said, he made a miracule out of this team.

Sure you'are 100% right but this can't work in the long run, this is Inter's swan song for a couple of years probably

Moncada will fired now because of @Samaldinho. AI could just determine which free agents to sign instead based on data and save Gerry another salary.

Need a poll to assess the new factions within the forum

Positivity force (team leader @Wild)

Realistic force (team leader @brk, position unchanged)

Negativity Force (team leader @Samaldinho and @Cloren)

But it's been working in the long run, that's my point. The same report has been coming out for years now. Same with Barcelona.

There were certain posters on here talking about Marotta vs Maldini. One of them signed free players that helped their team immensely while the other one had a disastrous transfer market last summer and got fired.

Wait so we can't blame one person if it's Moncada, but we can blame one person if it's Maldini lol

If the buck can stop at Maldini it can stop with Gerry's pick in Moncada... I want Moncada to succeed, pull rabbits out hats and drive this team forward.

But if this move by Gerry doesn't work someone will be a scapegoat... It'll be Pioli for me, but Moncada is a close second.

If you believe in someone, something, and it doesn't work out... You get ruthless and sack them right????!!!!!

some of you view milan as your rock. it's sweet.
i do too, to a degree.
but i also view it as my ride. i like rollercoaters. i like the unknown of what's around the corner. the danger. the anticipation.

when your club can be both, that's special <3

I don't think Maldini's behavior has ever been a concern.

The Warriors were vindicated, because they won. If they didn't, Kerr would have been lambasted, and Jackson would have been a "what if" story.

If Redbird do not win, the fans will revolt. The only passionate American fans are in college sports. European clubs' fans are more similar to American college sports fans in their passion and zeal.

Winning is the only antidote here. And unlike Jackson, Maldini has won already, thus making the stakes even higher in this situation.

How many BS you can read here. Yes Paolo was a great captain but Milan also had players like Gattuso, Savicevic, Balottelli, Ayala, Ibrahimovic Gulit., Desailly who were not the role model when it comes to professional behavior!
