Very harsh to call someone stupid for thinking inter will fall off. They’re just kicking the can down the road. People here would have been very upset if we signed bandaids like Acerbi or Mhki. They have a big loan to pay off that cannot be ignored.

They’ve got a great director who is probably the only one in the country capable of keeping them competitive, but eventually one of those Acerbi type signings won’t work. The fact remains they need to pay back a lot of money and a lot of their key players are getting older. Considering they only, objectively, went a little further than Milan on all fronts, I for one am not jealous of inter.

You can say they won’t fall off if you want, but it’s pretty clear they’re at the end of their winning cycle. Sooner than later they will have to cut costs and start a new cycle.

Isn't that what happened last summer? No major signings and simply band-aids. And look at where they are now. The difference is that their band-aids worked. This is what happens when you have an SD that actually knows how to do his job and isn't just relying on his name.

I already agreed that Inter will do well as long as they have owners who are willing to spend.

But as for Marotta, he's a smart SD. How can you compare him to Milan's SD ( whoever it is or may be Maldini or Moncada), if Marotta is allowed to spend much more and make make much bigger losses? If he spends at Milan's level which is much lower, then obviously Inter will have worse performances and results.

You don't have to be a super genius to know that you can't compare the results of 2 clubs that have very different spending levels, in the same way. You just need to have a reasonable level of intelligence... Next will you be saying that Marotta is better than Atalanta or Sasuolo's SDs, because Inter does better than them?

Exactly, like I said bandaids are short term and don’t work forever. It’s very possible that signings like Acerbi don’t work, they often don’t. I didn’t even say inter would become trash or anything, I said they’d have to start a new cycle and get costs down. That’s a fact.

Idk where you got 5 years from. Just two years ago they had the leagues best squad with one of the worlds highest paid and notable managers. He walked away for a reason, and they sold Lukaku for a reason. Their team is objectively worse than it was then, it’s impossible to argue otherwise. Their financial situation has already made them worse. If you wanted to argue that it was an exaggeration to say inter would implode, then sure I’d agree with that. But they have definitely had their financial trouble affect the team. It would be “stupid” to say it hasn’t. We’re talking about a team that finished a couple points higher in the table and literally beat us to make the major final they are in. That’s a pretty marginal difference in quality. These guys aren’t 20 points above us for a reason.
