I mean, without those inflationary injections they can't even get into the conversation. Dortmund sells more merchandise than them.

If we limit spending to transfers, Man Utd look foolish (they are) but Man Utd are spending money they've earned and created through top class management of their commercial side.

If FFP (and domestic versions of those laws) were removed, then no problem, pump money in. But they are there, and the flagrant violations of those rules annoys me, plus there's a whole host of other things that Pep has done that he gets away with.

City have run themselves, on the sporting side, very well since appointing Pep. Really impressive work from him. But he's violated rules that even those who have similar spending haven't.

We need a starter now. This news about Bennacer don't sound encouraging. On top of our already big needs for proper players, we now have to buy another starter. Moncada better find a few gems on the cheap, otherwise I can't see us filling all holes in the squad.

That’s the thing I also wonder. How were they able to spend so much money in the 2010s when their revenue wasn’t all that.

Using United isn’t a good comparison because yes they spend a lot and are run foolish but they’ve actually earned that money.

Sure City now finally get revenue but Pep’s side has been built by bypassing those FFP laws like they’re nothing.

PSG has like so much debt themselves but can spend like nothing. Obviously these kinds of things will always question Guardiola’s titles to me.

Congrats to Pep though, this is his first CL where he didn’t win off a controversial ref decisions unlike his first 2 CL titles.

I think his poor showings in the CL illustrates that once he just beats up on teams who don't have the same resources but when its playoff time he suddenly doesn't do as well.

The doping, insane amount of cheating with Barca, the history of racism just round off a pretty unsavory person.

I also am waiting to see him coach a team where he isn't blessed with the overwhelmingly better squad. If he can squeeze insane performances from a Saelemaekers, I'll be impressed.

The 30M cap doesn't make sense. You could go for a rather "cheap" profile for 25M, but on big wages and maybe no decreto crescita and end up spending more on that player than a 35M investment on low wages and with decreto crescita. Why would the management only allow to go for the player who has a bigger annual "weight" on the squad costs (despite lower fee)? I really don't think that's the case.

But it doesn't really matter everyone in that league spends outrageous amounts every summer
