Also, just gonna have to say it, Simone Inzaghi is an incredibly underrated coach. This Inter team quality wise is nowhere near what Inter had three, four years ago. And yet he brings Inter the 2nd time in three years into a CL final. He could win the Scudetto too. And all of that without playing ugly and parking the bus.

Conte, with a much superior squad, couldn't make it out of the group stage twice in two years. Conte is good, but greatly overrated. Simone deserves much more of the praise Conte gets.
We know what Conte is. I feel he's underrated if anything. If he wins the league, its a greater achievement than Inter winning the UCL. Stripped of his 2 big names in attack...In his first season..
Those like me that want him, want him because he can build the foundations.
He can build a spirit and is incredible in the league.
In what world, are we going to hire a manager and expect to reach a CL final in the next 2 seasons?
Instead, lets a get league title or 2. Then when we are a proper team, you go and replace Conte with a nice guy, who lets the leashes off. Once the players have earned it.
And you go compete in Europe, playing expressive football.

Not that long ago some commoders were trying to tell me that Pioli was a better coach than Inzaghi...

I genuinely believe Gerry thinks super coppa is like equivalent to a FA CUp and that coppa Italia is like crowning yourself as the king of Italy

Scudetto is just a league phase

Like conference league in nfl

Not the super bowl

So coppa is the ultimate cup with finals and shit
I can guarantee you that Gerry has no idea what FA Cup and Coppa Italia are and how prestigious they are. Genuinely has no idea about football at all.
There's one fact that has been stuck in my mind for years. Gerry bought the club (or was in advance negotiations when this interview was dropped, can't remember exactly) and then realized that Milan was the second most successful team in CL history. He said it himself that he didn't know that. The guy dropped 1.2 bn EUR on Milan without even doing a 5-minute google search. Last thought to cross his mind is about sport success. He sees Milan as nothing but business opportunity that came out of nowhere due to his connections in different vulture funds. He didn't want to buy Milan specifically. It just happened that Milan was for sale at that time. He would've bought any big team if he was seeing a good possibility of flipping it in 3-4-5 years.
It's like buying a million EUR property in Paris and then realizing that from the balcony you have a full frontal view of the Eiffel Tower. Top tier re-tard.

I think PSG at their current form are a much better team than Barca.
Most of their players are really, really good and on fire since the start of 2025

Dollar is making clutch saves.
Hakimi for me is the best RB in the world and it's not even close, the guy is insane.
Solid/ok DC pair
Nuno Mendes is always good.
Their midfield might not be flashy, but is something I dream of...Vitinha mamma mia what a player :star:
In front Dembele shows his true potential after so many injuries, Kvara is always fired up and fighting.
This young Doue guy, I don't know where he came from, but looks like a baller every time I watch him.

For me they are the clear favourite to finally win it (without Mbappe hihi)

I personally cheer for them, they play beautiful football - " Allez les blues" and all that stuff.
/inb4 the biggest choke of the decade/
Roster wise PSG are much better than merda. But so are Barcelona and Bayern...
If it was a 2-game tie I would say that PSG are strong favorites, but a single game can do either way. Such big games are rarely decided by individual quality, they are more about team chemistry, will and strength which is exactly where merda are world-class. Due to the pressure these finals are usually dull games with both teams being more focused on not conceding rather than scoring. And that's where merda flourish. Their biggest strength is allowing the opponent to dominate the ball and play dead. Once the opponent is distracted because merda can't touch the ball, they make 1-2 good counters and send 3-4 crosses in the box and score. And once they take the lead, unlike the moron Flick, they will park the bus and wait for their second opportunity. And it will come. And they will score as they are the masters of scoring 2 goals from 2 attacks.

Surprised by Juventus' up-and-down championship?

"There are never a shortage of surprises in football: for me, for example, AC Milan are the strongest team in terms of individuals and yet they're back there."

I blame the Portuguese coaches for why we suck

They still think we're playing against Boavista or Rio Ave

We're fucking 9th in the league

Winning Coppa will mask so much of the failure we are as a club.

Needless to say... I won't cry if Bologna smacks these turds 5-0 in the final.

A lot of "IFs" in keeping Sergio and making it a success -
- Will we fix our midfield problem? We don't just need transfers, we need successful transfers. If we buy two Musahs, we are back to where we were.
- Will Gimenez grow or do we need yet another ST?
- Will we finally sign good alternatives to Theo and Walker at FB?
- Will Sergio start learning quicker from his mistakes? That 4-2-3-1 ten match streak with Musah double pivot fucking killed us. We could have made top 4. Could have made CL playoffs.

Sergio's stubborness is his worst enemy.
Problem is, any other coach coming in to THIS group of players is no guarantee either.
Aside from the top 3 or 4 coaches in the world who command respect, I don't even see Allegri or Conte making this group of players fall in line, because I don't think this group of players will respect these guys who only win occasionally in Italy, but do fuck all internationally.
Our team isn't a bunch of Italian school boys who will just listen and follow whoever is in charge. They need to be convinced that the new guy coming in will improve them. Conceicao has a record of a trophy or league win every year in the past 7 or 8 years, but still took him 4 months and a new formation for the team to buy in.
How are Allegri or Conte suppose to convince them to follow him?

And like someone mentioned before, our "senior" players are the issue, unlike Merda where those senior players keep the other, younger players in line.

Do you understand it?

In Europe we support serie a clubs
Period.

But not to win the title obviosuly

Coefficients wise we are third
We won’t get the 5th anyway

But it can help in the following year if serie a teams perform again.

Even if it doesn’t serie a clubs in Europe for life
The 5th spots for next year have been claimed for England and Spain. It is mathematically gone for Italy.

there is no reason to support inter or any Italian club

also, since you said you would support inter until the champions league final, it’s confusing as to why you would say anything pro inter at this point.

also, coefficients for the 5th spot changed to the performance in last season not a 5 year average.

You know what? Inter should win
Maybe then our piece of shit management will learn

They deserve this humiliation. Our ret@ards in management

One of the dumbest low iq management team I have ever come across

On par with edu by cocks and dulcepentrante.

Inter to win the ucl and project that van culo banner across the city

City is blue and black baby. For now

It’s ok. We need to learn from this. Come back strong. We will win the scudetto. Focus on winning scudetti. Then ucl will come automatically. Well eventually.

Corrupt league. So find me a corrupt sd who won’t get caught ofcourse.

Inter playing 2 CL finals in 3 years, and most probably also winning this year.
If this ain't a wake up call for our management then...
Trust us, it ain't.
Gerry and Zebra don't listen to the "baaa"ing of sheep afterall.
You forget that Gerry says that he wants to prop up the entire league altogether.
He'd likely go a step further than those here who are cheering for Merda to make a Final.
He'd probably be the first to send Merda congratulations and a floral wreath or something.

Put it this way

I support Italian clubs over clubs from other leagues in europe

I don’t want them to win but I do prefer to see them go very far in the comp

They can win Europa and conference though. Don’t care for those

I wonder if Cardinale regrets buying Milan or if his shareholders are happy considering that the majority of Serie A clubs are in the red and the profits are minimum. Gerry probably was unaware of Italy's maddening bureaucracy that to build a new stadium there are 50 thousands obstacles to over-come, that weird little groups with an agenda come out of nowhere to oppose the project. Every decision requires a meeting from which another is scheduled 6 months later and nothing is ever finalized. Very different from the U.S. where it's much easier and you get incentives because a complex that includes new hotels, shops, bar and restaurants are good for the local economy.

I'm not an expert on economics but assume Gerry is finding it difficult to find investors and so the loan payments were postponed at higher interest rates. Now with the tariff situation and investors losing money it's even more difficult to stay afloat and even sponsors at some point will not want to associate with a 9th place club that's out of Europe. And you don't change a well proven structure of leadership with people new at the job that create a new hierarchy where it's not clear who's in charge, beginning with Scaroni and ending with Moncada. Decisions take a painfully long time to be made, always looking at the cheapest option rather than the most competent as in the case of the Portoguese coaches and Lopetegui when Sarri, Conte, Allegri, Mancini, De Zerbi are available.

Ibra saying we're not looking for a manager type is a stupid take: what the fuck does he know about what is needed most? A serious executive should have said: "we're looking for the person that gives us the best chance to win". Nobody gives a damn about Gerry's other investments, his Hollywood contacts like J-loe, or NBA or baseball players, none of that is relevant to winning in "soccer" which should be his main concern.
I really hope he fails massively and gets the fuck out of my club, my most despised owner ever, an embarassement in the league along with the morons that he put in charge of our fortunes.

Coefficients is based on 5 year rolling period anyway
So for 2025 2026 season it will be based on last 5 years results to calculate coefficients.

We shall see how it unfolds next sesson

Cause the new system is reducing points for Europa and even worse for conference which is fair

Clippers got dumped out of first round, then Merda got to the final. I'm in agony.

Inter winning the UCL this season would make every Milan win against them this season not count. It would be sickening.

Voilà.

People like to mock the financial Scudetto, as if it's just about saving money and cutting costs. But that's not what it means. It's about building a system where sporting success increases revenue and increased revenue fuels more sporting success. A virtuous cycle.

Without trophies, there's no money. Without money, there's no growth. And without growth, the financial Scudetto becomes just another buzzword masking mediocrity.

RedBird knows that. They have every reason to push for sporting success. The more the team wins, the more valuable the club becomes. And one day, when they sell, that's the upside they're banking on (on top of the stadium, of course). Because being debt free alone doesn't make the club attractive. It's also about prestige. It's emotions. It's about being able to move the masses. Alienating the own fan base and not being able to compete will make many potential investors lose interest.

So if Gerry looks at the current structure — the management group, the blurred responsibilities, the lack of accountability — and decides this is still good enough, then I really don't know what to say. Because Gerry isn't stupid. You don't build a multi-billion dollar investment firm by being average. But if this situation continues for another season, if we keep stumbling while others move forward, I'll be out of words – finally, some might say.
He's a virgin when it comes to calcio, though, and should have consulted with experienced people like Braida instead of Ibra that knows nothing of managing a club.

The moron probably had no idea at all how things are happening in Italy. He most likely thought that once he declares readiness to build a stadium everybody will start kissing his hand and he would be pronounced as the long missing Messiah.
Also, considering the prestige of the club and city he probably thought that acquiring the team for 1.2 bn was a bargain and new investors will be lining up to work with him.

I want him gone too, but I am not really sure it would be any better once he leaves. There's zero guarantee that the new owner will be any different. There was one legit group that wanted to buy the club - InvestCorp and Elliott did everything possible to give them up adding obstacles all the time. A few weeks after the negotiations collapsed they easily agreed terms with Cardinale. Why? Because they probably scammed him into believing that he is getting a bargain and he agreed to their terms. Their terms? Good profit on the initial investment + interest on a pretty large loan. No oil money entity would agree to this. Only an American fraud. If Gerry defaults the club is going back to Elliott who will make a ton of money and there's no guarantee that the scenario will be any different. If Elliott are able to sell the club again, they will likely try to do it with another American fraud and not a real old-school owner who wants to chase glory. Won't be surprised at all if they find the next Cardinale.

Who was the better team? Did they get lucky or "deserved"?
As a players , Barcelona . As a team , Inter . It was deserved . Barcelona came to Milan for a fast stop , before the final in Munich . Inter came to fight .
Same happens at Supercoppa final and Coppa Italia semifinal , but at that time Inter did it .

they scored 7 goals in a two game tie. its not like they got a 1-0 lucky win and got abused after. sure barcelona dominated possession and probably had more chances overall, but barca's defense was incredibly weak, inter looked like they could score anytime they got over into barca's half
