If they could have gotten the basics done then there would not have been a banter era.

Maldini also lost a lot of talent and lumbered us with some dead weight. Hence why in his last season we finished 5th and he was unceremoniously given the boot from the yanks a year remove from winning the scudetto.

This management lost/sold Tonali, Tiji, and lumbered us with Musah, Morata, RLC, Chuk and Emerson Royale and finished 8th.

If we want more Italians they would have to be pretty young and promising so Ricci already part of Italy's national squad, and Leoni the most acclaimed young CB in Italy fit the bill. They don't have to start right away but would be members of a deep bench initially.

I can understand liking somebody like Abate despite his defficiency in attack, but Antonini was just a disaster who could make a huge mistake that could lose us points at any time.
Really horrible defender.

Personally for me Antonini never deserved to even play for Milan.
I don't really understand why players should be praised for ''giving their all'', especially when they play at a club like at Milan where they usually are getting paid a couple of millions a season at least. For that money not only would I give it my all but I would carry the other players' bags and I would even cut the grass at Milanello.

Maybe some people also self-insert into players like Antonini and think ''that could be me'', but personally if I played that badly I would return my salary to Milan out of shame and personally apologize to the fans.

Ricci + Xhaka + Modric + Jashari would indeed be a midfield overhaul.
Add to that Fofana + RLC (assuming he's staying after Tare's words), and it's a solid group. Not sure who replaces Reijnders's role in terms of attacking output. Don't know enough about the Jashari kid, but apparently he's more of a "regista"? Modric and Xhaka have never been big goal contributors, while Ricci operates from deep as well.

If we're getting Ricci, I don't think we need Xhaka. They are very similar players and operate in the same space. I like the depth we would have, sure. But I do think we would also need an attacking profile out of midfield. Ideally, RLC is moved on and replaced with an attacking minded midfielder. But not too hopeful of that after Tare made it seem like he's the second coming of Seedorf.

I saw Jashari highlights and he looks a lot like what @brk is trying to convince us Bennacer is

Definitely a more deeper lying playmaker type rather than an attack 8 like Reijnders
