My phone is being slow in a bad service area(I’ll try to post again later) but I found a deep dive stat article on Ricci from last year. In all the leagues they looked at, Ricci was second to only Kimmich in recycling the ball under pressure. Where Fofana was a lot riskier with his decision making and boom or bust(lots of assists but lots of lost balls), ricci is simpler and much more efficient.

His ball progression stats are pretty mid, but again, he’s keeping the ball extremely well UNDER pressure. Some might think that equates to a 2015 De Jong perma sideways passer, but really it means he’s moving the ball out of tight spaces into safe spaces. Torino also was middle of the pack on almost all passing and attacking stats(I think even worse this season), meaning it might make sense for his passing stats to look better on a better team.

Seems to do really well in duel percentage too, he’s good at winning fouls and doing well in whatever is in front of him. He’s decently athletic but not nearly enough that you would expect him to go sideline to sideline dominating space and being an elite ball winner. So he’s extremely safe on the ball under pressure, solid all rounder, and good not great defensively. He wouldn’t be flashy but paired with other good passers I think he can be dependable.
Based on stats only i expect him to have at least better defensive stats than Fofana.
I would put Hjulmand there to compare & i think we will notice a notable spike in defensive actions.

Actually Inter was after him as well for starting DM replacing Hakan, which we talked about here a lot hoping he'd choose us. Also some EPL sides have made inquiries but Ricci wants to stay in Italy. The low evaluations of Ricci here is ridiculous, maybe because he's Italian and so he has to suck.
I don’t think Ricci is a sure thing enough player that he will definitely come and dominate. But he is a talented player and a lot of people think highly of him. If I remember right he was pretty wanted here until people just decided he was bad because he’s Italian(fair enough) and someone posted his surface level stats without any context on his role or the kind of ball Torino plays.

I think ricci would do well in a more technical midfield which seems to be our goal. In the previous system of excessive ball carrier and distance runners I don’t think he’d fit very well

Reaching the semi with this team was a miracle, something this management can only dream of.

When you avoid all the big hitters it's easy to reach the final stages

Don’t act all high and mighty when you’re absolute trash compared to Maldini’s Milan.

Na, im levels above the orphans. I support the club for better and worse. Not cry like a bunch of bitches, page after page lol

If we hadn’t screwed it all up, we could’ve built on that and gone even further.

Only person who screwed it up was ur beloved Paolo who after milan won the title went and splurged our whole transfer kitty on the milky bar kid from the land of waffles.

What was his return that season

Oh yes

40 apps

ZERO goals

In other news, Napoli is building a powerhouse with the additions of the De Bruyne, now close to Nunez, (even though they have Lukaku), and Noa Lang, after their first choice, Ndoye, was valued at 60 millions by Bologna that is objectively too high a price. Also involved with CB Beukema.
Now Lang would be a great, versatile pick up for us. It would have depended on selling Okafor or ChuK though and apparently we're waiting to observe lots of players, while throwing others under buses.

A supposedly 'worse signing than Origi financially' :proud:

Youre describing Morata as a financial disaster.. Compared him to Origi.. Who both act as ST's. Tell me, an apple to apples comparison of a g+a contribution is not apt for strikers?

If we're comparing apples to oranges, Fofana has more than double the g+a contribution in a year to origi's whole contract here

Double of "shit" is still "shit".
Morata had terrible g/a.
And no Origi stat can sugar coat it.

Youre a Theo hernandez fan, and have the audacity to blame redshit's transfers for loss of CL football?

Why Theo and Musah who flopped our Zagreb match?

We would never have to play Feyenoord if Musah wasn't during Zagreb.

Oops.

How does good defensive contrition and weak tackling work together?

This seems like a fancy way to say grinta merchant

His stats also seem to indicate that he doesn’t really make many defensive actions (assuming this is tackles, blocks, interceptions)

No, you see, football doesn't work like that

A higher output of a player=a higher value, and vice versa

Morata in six months contributing more than double g+a Origi has in 4 years?

Sorry, thats not a 'double shit'

Please explain what a not "terrible g+a" means, sir

From Rui Costa to this

Ah yes the legendary Rui Costa with his magnificent 4 goals in 124 matches
Bro played in a team with prime Sheva, Seedorf and P!rlo
Truly deserving of his #10
Great hair too

You are correct. Theo Hernandez has ruined our entire season.
We were breezing to success in CL and Serie A until he fucked us over.

Can't wait for next season, you are in for a surprise dawg.

You are describing the type of midfielder I hate tbh

I'm officially team Xhaka

no Italians in my Milan unless they are home grown

Head scout only does what the Manager and Management tell him to do.
You should be asking what the fuck Pioli, then Fonseca was doing not asking for a CDM.
I have asked what Pioli was doing... Let's be honest, he over saw the whole Kessie departure yet didn't pick up on the importance of a defensive player to allow Theo and Leao freedom to do what they did, without fear from counters.

But I'm pretty sure Moncada was highly regarded and very much part of "management". Let's not give him a free pass on this.

Surely stats and algorithms highlighted our weaknesses and issues?

I hope Ricci doesn't mean no Xhaka. That would be such a bummer.

I also hope the door for Jashari isn't closed. Not sure how all of the three would fit. But I already kinda set my heart on Xhaka and Jashari.
Fuck Xhaka old and average
