Unfortunately I am unable to respond to this as analytically as it deserves

Pls help @patosheva & @Soldier_of_god ❤️

It’s going to be Ibra’s buddy Tudor or Van Bommel

I think their sources have dried out and they're back to the norm with the same rumours as everyone else. For Milan Pelegatti had some insights due to his friendship with Allegri that at press conferences was given the last questions.

Vitiello to me works the hardest, always at Casa Milan but most of them are not reliable.

Problem with Vitiello for me is that he's very, veeery biased towards Allegri too. Makes listening to him very difficult because he takes everything that absolves Allegri as a fact and questions everything that holds him accountable.

But I'm sure how we'll hear that their "philosophies align" and after the mess we got into, which wasn't anything to do with Gerry, or Ibra, nothing at all; Philosophies aligning is a good thing.

Which ultimately it is, but what's the fucking philosophy?

Ibra's right, get onboard!!!

Seriously though, is Thiago Motta such a terrible idea? I remember his football was pretty good at Bologna. He was highly sought after. He fumbled the Juventus job, but I won't put too much into that. A bigger club, higher expectations plus pressure etc etc. Remember Xabi Alonso, Amorim? So I don't think the Juve stint should define Motta's competence. Plus he knows this league, so @leaf should be okay with this 😁

Personally I won't mind him if we can't get the likes of Iraola.

What happened to Motta at Juve? I didn't really follow.

Motta was very much the flavor of the season before Juve came calling. I remember people losing their shit when Juve announced him and we went for Fonseca instead.

I haven't followed him closely at Juve. From what I gathered he fell out with Giuntoli and some of their bigger names and struggled to manage the locker room properly.

That said, I think he has a real chance of landing here, both because of the football he played at Bologna and his well-documented friendship with Zlatan. And if he comes, you'd have to imagine we'd go back for Zirkzee too, which then again would hopefully bring @brk back to us as well :proud:

For that alone I'm all for giving him a proper shot, as long as "proper" means a squad built around his ideas rather than another collection of market opportunities. :proud:

Pretty poor transfer market for how he wanted to play I think

Then he lost his best player in Bremer

I don’t think he’ll come to Milan though sounds like they want an attacking coach after Allegri and Motta certainly isn’t that

I watched a lot of Bologna that season under Motta and they were genuinely fun to watch TBH.

Iraola I had no idea he existed before yesterday, so comparing them is hard. From what people are saying he's very attack-minded, more in the De Zerbi or Pioli/Fonseca mould with those suicidal high defensive lines. If that's accurate, Motta probably sits somewhere in between them and Allegri, which might actually be the sweet spot.

As for Xavi, from what I remember of his Barca in CL games he came across as a kind of Guardiola 2.0. Not much verticalisation à la Gasperini, more tiki-taka, playing out of pressure, heavy possession, lots of recycling. It can be beautiful but it can also be painfully dull when it doesn't click. Which is probably why I lean more towards Motta, Italiano or this Iraola everyone seems so excited about.

@brks enthusiasm for Motta was so contageous that I'm still more than fine with him even if he failed at Juve.

But they don't have Fabregas-like players to play for a Fabregas-like coach.
