Defensive clinic by Spain. Too bad for France, gonna be a long flight back Africa lol

Guessing eight years isnt enough for the healing process.

Gotta put some respect on oyarazbals name

I dont really watch la liga anymore

But this guy leads their line as good as any forward in world football. His passing ability is really good
I would take him in bbbelan

But then duggary had a great WC too
And we saw have that turned out

When I see what Delafuentes Spain Coach did and what he is doing, then look up at his career he just managed youth Spain teams, I'm wondering if Baldini could be a good choice , he won 2 games with Italy by lining up juts U21 players...🤔

Should be worth considering him for the next Nazionale Coach

@pippofan what do you think?

Yeah, modern internet take.

"Deschamps has done poor with France. They should have won every game."
Euro 2016…did France have any business losing that Final, especially after Ronaldo went off?

202(0/1)— France had Switzerland down and out. Then…collapse

2022, fine, it was Messi’s destiny

This World Cup? I picked Spain to win, but given what Deschamp was working with, was the loss today a hard-fought one even? It was a whimper. That’s on him.

I would take him over Pirlo and also if they really want to commit to younger players Baldini should be the man. Younger players would include Palestra, Scalvini, Calafiori, Ahanor, Bernasconi, Leoni, Liberali, Esposito, Pisilli, Zaniolo, (27), and others not necessarily all Under 21. Watching these other countries we need more speedy players overall.

It would probably be considered too risky by Malago` & Co. but a coach known for using and improving young players would be good. Mancini would be better than Conte at it but our choices are pretty limited for now.

They should also implement a more offensive system and not park the bus once they the get lead conceding two thirds of the pitch like Allegri does. 4-2-3-1 would be how I would play as we're weak at traditional winger positions.

What a victory for the european champions

France is a joke… have been playing major tournaments with the absolute best squads post 2014… won 2018 world cup by beating uruguay, Belgium and croatia in the last three ko games, like really?

in 2022 england was the only team of any importance they played on the way to the final which they lost

2026 they had the ultimate joke of a path to the semis and the first good team kicked them out.

Actually, france in their last 4 world cup semi final appearances prior to this one played and beat teams with no wc history reaching the semi final stage for the first time in history ( except Belgium 18 ). Croatia 98, portugal 06 and morocco 22

Im glad france is out… deschamp should be hanged for wasting so many opportunities with such squads
In 2018 they would play England, a team of "importance", if the important team didn't get their asa kicked out by a superior team in the semis.

You know we don't have decent wingers, a 4-3-3 is more suitable, Tonali-Barrela-Pissili in the middle with Raspadori and Zaniolo behind Esposito, we have more qualities in the middle than in the wings.

Brazil has been doing badly 20years before Carlo took charge of it.
This is their earliest exit from the World Cup since 1990 and also they didn’t play the Brazilian way. Carlo disgraced himself.

Not the greatest source but…

Honestly give it back to Mancini.

Aside.from his woeful ucl record. Hes done pretty well.

Built city and won their first 2 major trophies

Lead italy to euros despite being filled with bang average players.

This guy was a manager even when he was a player at sampdoria. Apparently.he ran the whole show. And they were a great club in the 90s.

Plus he was a quality player. Proper #10... Real baller

I only share this for the first goal.... we were spoilt back then 😢

I would argue they haven't been playing the Brazilian way for a long time now.

Even the magic box or whatever they called the four attackers going into that WC (iirc) was more a speed counter that didn't work because Kaka Dinho etc didn't have it anymore and after that it has been versions of Eurostyle football with lesser and lesser talented players.

I like Estevao and João Pedro (even though he isn't supremely talented) but not sure how much others are worthy.
Romario was critical of Endrick for the big miss and rightfully so. Harsh but you have to take chances.
Hopefully they put together a better group for next time.

I thought the game would be closer but Spain dominated from start to finish. Best offense vs best defense reminds me of NFL clashes where the defensive unit usually prevail.

Of the 4 semi-finalists Argentina is the least deserving, imo, because they played poorly, had the easiest schedule and were helped by the refs. Unless they revert to their best form I can't see them beating England with Kane and Bellingham doing so well.

It may be a Yamal/Bellingham duel rather than the expected Messi/Mbappe one and I would probably favor Spain regardless of who they face. Their defense is one of the most organized that I've seen in recent years, their sense of anticipation top notch. Everybody perfectly placed to intercept the ball and double on Mbappe and Dembele` who were both very disappointing.

Don't know how quickly some of our WC players will return to practice, Leao and Gomes among the first to arrive because they were eliminated early, Salad, De Winter and Modric maybe. For pre-season friendlies nobody will be around on July 25 in Scotland but by August 5 in Australia should have many of them back.
Want to see Gomes as soon as possible.

BTW, Inter has cancelled their pre-season game against Atalanta on August 14 for something called Trofeo Bertolotto because angry at Atalanta over the Palestra affair. The Bergamo management, the player and his agent had full unwritten agreements with Inter but then backed out at the last moment and sold him to Chelsea because of a superior offer.

Gentlemen or unwritten agreements don't mean fuck all in today's football where greed beats everything so sign by pen as quickly as possible. If that had happened to us we'd all be screaming foul.

Malago` is Maldini's boss so he should be the final decider. Let's not repeat for Italy a situation that we had at Milan.

Raspadori doesn't excite me, I'd prefer Zaccagni but it is definetly a weakness. Maybe try a 4-4-2 with Kean as the second striker to Esposito.

Out for a walk.
@Tantalis Putting some things in light mode forces me to not check or look at them, like my work email. I want to prep for the next day and look, maybe there's something...but I won't if it'll blind my eyeballs.

May be, but he was always been dangerous when playing as a starter with Italy, passing-shielding of the ball-decision making, may be with continuity he can bring a lot to Italy if injuries leave him.
