Other great Calypsonians some before my time are Lord Kitchener, Relator, Gypsy, Roaring Lion, Cro-Cro, Sugar Aloes, the Mighty Chalkdust, Explainer, Pink Panther, Crazy, Denise Plummer (a white calypsonian ) etc.
The best ever Calypsonian is the Mighty Sparrow...He's awesome at double entendre (bad spelling ***** n/r).....He haas some really funny songs like "the Big Bamboo" a song about women liking big dicks. He also has some deep social commentary and party music.....REAL Calypso seems to be dying though in favour for the faster, more upbeat and light on lyrics "soca"...
But Sparrow has a song named after you...tell me if you like it (click)
