Milan?s CEO Ivan Gazidis sent a letter to the Club?s sponsors to explain what the new competition will be about.

?Dear partners, as an important part of the Milan family, I wanted to write to you about the announcement last night (the day before yesterday) on the future of European football.

?Milan are pleased to confirm that they are one of the 12 main European clubs that have come together to create a new midweek competition, the Super League.

?The goal is to create a format in which the best teams compete more regularly, improving the overall quality and intensity of European football.

?We are confident that this new 20-team competition will capture the imaginations of billions of football fans around the world and will represent the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the game of football.

?The football industry, like many others, has recently gone through a period of significant financial instability and hardship, accelerated by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

?The Super League will provide value and support to the entire football pyramid with increased financial resources, significantly increasing solidarity payments to national leagues and grassroots football.

?With also the creation of a corresponding women?s league, which will represent a transformative step forward for women?s football. At the same time as the commitment to create this new European tournament, the founding clubs are also making a long-term commitment to their domestic championships.

?Serie A will remain the most important weekend competition in Italy and Milan are proud to remain an important part of the pinnacle of Italian football. The clubs look forward to holding discussions with FIFA and UEFA and all other football institutions to work together in partnership to provide a structure that will be beneficial to football as a whole.

?This is an exciting time for the Club, for you as our partner and for European football. We look forward to taking this journey with you and we will keep you updated on developments as the project progresses."

Elite  12 founding clubs from 3 countries and 6 are from PL.

Manure, Milan, Arsenal, Totenham arent even in the CL and havent been for a while. No Bayern or PSG.

Great Elite that is...an elite that cant even qualify properly for a world class competition. No fucking thanks.

Since when is psg elite. Of course all those english clubs are elite compared to those money bags. Bayern can do what they want

#UEFA President #Ceferin has made a public appeal to the clubs behind #SuperLeague: "Gentlemen you made a huge mistake. Some will say it is greed, others distain, arrogance... there is still time to change your mind. Everyone makes mistakes?

Pleading, already on his knees
Woah, he's crumbling even faster than I though. I imagined it would take a couple of weeks, not hours.

man, I'm no longer feel the excitement of the top 4 spot. I mean, what's the point now?

if we are in the 1st spot, or like... still can realistically challenge the 1st spot, then ok, let's continue playing with our A team.
but if suppose we are currently 4th, there is no point there, we can just play the rest of serie A games with our B team.

Also, please stop acting like you're going to gain something out of this.

AC Milan doesn't care about you. You're not going to get a single penny from this.

"We" stand to gain from this move. Fucking idiots. :fp::lol:

We get better games, you don?t have to watch if you don?t

And uefa or the farmer leagur team fans cares even less about you, so you won?t be getting a single penny regardless. Bringing up this argument makes you the biggest idiot

Are this the same sources as the "player X confirmed to some of his closest friends that he doesn't want to play in team Y anymore and that he'd like to join team Z" sources?

Watching lower table sides hack our players down in the name of tradition and fairness.

So you think the rich people behind this Super League created it to spend more money and break even?
They're doing it for one sole purpose: to make more money for themselves. They don't care one bit about the clubs, fans or football as a whole.
My bet is that in 20 years Milan probably won't be based in Milano any longer. The whole European Super League will just be one big traveling circus playing the majority of games in dead silent stadiums in Asia and the Middle East. In stead of banners in Curva Sud reading "Grinta, Cuore e Milanismo" they'll read "#WeAreSoRich"

Yea you really have 0 basis for this as it had not happened at all. Anyone can just make up some hypotheticals.

My bet is that in 20 years what you said won?t happen at all and you will be watching with your friends telling them how great the SL is

Now we can see Krunic versus his likeness in Kevin de Bruyne to see who is better.

The last sentence is what makes the most sense.

If Clownetino Perez cared about football he could have called big clubs and agree:

Lets say ?For next 5 years we?ll set max price we pay for a player to 30 or 50M, then we all agree to cut agent fees and such things until Covid crisis is over?

Yes if he REALLY cared about football he?d exercise brain control on other people to agree to something

I think at this point if UEFA are so desperate they can pay me 1m a year to watch some of their premier competition and I'll boycott ESL for them.

financial problems are created by owners
salary cap and limits of transfer fees is about teams that are able to spend huge money - europe top10-15 teams? - they could create any law with fifa/uefa since 99% of clubs dont even care about that
its not about top clubs vs uefa/fifa - its just about having bigger regular incomes that fans will pay for because top clubs cant functioning
like berlu couldnt spent anymore and we went into dogshit, now top teams instead of fixing problems just wants more money to spend...
same time juve from team of matri, quagliarella, giovino, vucinic change to dybala, madzu, gonzalo
managements make a difference.

look on real - isco, asensio, odegaard, kroos, caballos, b.diaz, james just left...
is it normal to own so many creative/attacking players??

Look I hate UEFA/FIFA/PL a lot but I know this benefits Milan a lot so I’m not entirely against this super league, however I would prefer if it was more meritocracy based, can’t have founding clubs not get relegated if they’re too shit. Qualifications based domestic performances and stuff. I need that fairness/meritocracy, and I would all in for this Super League. I want to see Milan back to the top of football and admittedly Super League is very beneficial for us. But my heart needs that meritocracy for excitement, has to feel earned, not given. Founding clubs can’t have a permanent spot in it, I hear the agreement is 23 years, can’t have that. Needs to change for fairness

Only if that?s what the sponsors want

If sponsors want to target 40-60 year olds, I?d be behind that

not just the sponsors.....its one of the first things perez mentions, as his justification for creating the super league

Football is beginning to lose interest, audiences are going down and television rights too, something had to be done, and the pandemic accelerated this process. Without change, we are ruined. 16-24 year old fans aren?t interested in football. 40% of young people aren?t interested in football, because there are too many games of low quality. It?s in all the statistics and the studies. Teenagers are more interested in playing video games than in football these days, and we have to do something to bring them back. We had to adapt. The same thing happened in the 50?s, UEFA and FIFA were opposed to Bernab?u and the European Cup.?
