If it is a 3, you have the order wrong. Kjaer will always be in the middle and Romagnoli always left. It won?t be a three man midfield that?s too much of a drastic change. It will still be a double pivot with Brahim ahead. I think the pressing pattern will be Brahim pushing way up to harass the center backs while Rebic and Leao go wide to press the fullbacks. Only way it makes any sense against s 442.

Might be more likely that Brahim presses their left back and Rebic stays central. Anyway, besides the AM having to shift a bit, the 352 at its core is very similar to our defensive shape in the asymmetric 4241 we usually play

I don't think the issue is trusting Florenzi. Allegri will play 442 with very mobile forwards that will try to pull defenders and make space for runners. If we don't have a free man in defense, this will cause us huge problems. Playing with 3 CBs means we will always have a free man, so Tomori or whoever can feel comfortable following Dybala if he tries to peel off. We already have two players that might do well as wingbacks (Theo and Saelemaekers) so i'm actually really curious to see how we do with this.

It's not a complete departure from how we play, when we are in possession we are usually in a 343 shape anway, with Theo and Saelemaekers as the widest players. The difference today is just saying since Calabria is out let's not even shift to the 4231/4411 when we're defending, let's stay a back five to make sure they don't stretch us.

The big difference here is that we don't have dedicated wingers to track their fullbacks, so i'm assuming Brahim will drift right to let Leao stay wide left, and Rebic can harass their CBs, so we press as a front three and Tonali and Kessie man to man with their midfield duo.

Match day! Let's go. We're missing some key players but I believe in us regardless. Tough game but we've shown enough even without Ibra/Giroud before (i.e. last season) in games that we have the quality to win. Calabria missing is bad news so hoping Florenzi can step up tonight.

Juventus miss Chiesa apparently which is great for us, but also miss Bonucci who recently loves to make mistakes against us. Let's hope Chiellini's age gets the better of him and Rebic/Leao beats his ass.
