Why is it such a surprise that footballers does cocaine? (I'm not saying all do it but come on). No, most of the time it isn't reported, unless the team is completely oblivious to it, and the player gets caught in a doping test, most clubs either hide it through injuries to try to avoid their players getting caught by the media, or they find other cleansing methods/keeping the player in the stands for a few weeks till you can feel safe that he's cleaned...

ffs, Pato doing it would certainly not be the first case of a Milan player (outside the usual suspects) I've heard. In fact, I do remember reading various people reporting that on Pato in italian forums 2 years ago, around the time he got divorced (due to partying every night mostly)...And really it isn't much of a surprise when a famous 20 year old is presented with the possibility to do it specially when he's hanging out with the wrong friendships...So I really don't find it surprising or anything.

Come on guys, I'm sure all of you have been at one point or another in the same bar/club as famous athletes (or "athletes") from your country and you've seen them doing dodgy stuff which never comes out to surface and mostly it doesn't unless its obvious it has harmed the player/team enviroment. Journalists could report it but at the same time, most players (specially from top clubs) know who the journalists are, teams know how to deal it with journalists too (pr/deals not really something unusual in the football world among top clubs).

You gonna cough up those names? Or will it be a "I know it happens, I'm just not gonna say" type thing...

How come Pato went to rehab for like a month for a cocaine addiction, and yet, nobody knew anything until you started saying it a couple of days ago...

Who is this "nobody" you speak of? I don't think this has been a big secret. But of course it hasn't been reported in the media.

Berlusconi owns Italian media.

:fp: We're in this territory now, yes? Conspiracies. My God dude. Berlusconi may own a large part of the media but he doesn't own every paper, or every channel. He certianly doesn't own the flow of information, neither does he control it. He'd have to own the internet for that. You know this. I expected better from you Fred.

Anyway, again, it's not a huge deal. Do you have any idea of how wide spread coke is amongst top athletes?

Yes, I know but a source would be nice since you seem to have "inside information."

Of course he doesn't control everything. At least not hands on. But you, I hope, also know how it works with the big clubs and the 20-30 reporters who constantly follow them. One paper reporting anything like that would immediately lose all access they have (travelling to away games on the club plane, all access at Milanello, etc etc).

Taking cheap shots at Pato is one thing. He can do that all day, everyday as long as Ibrahimovic, the player carrying the team on his shoulders gets nothing but stick from certain pro-Pato posters, despite him performing like a demi-God. It's probably Fred's way of venting. I can understand that even if I don't agree.

This sort of thing is just intellectually dishonest. He's smarter than that. And yes, I expected better than that.

To be honest it's not aimed at anyone in particular. I skip through most of what I deem nonsense in Ibra's thread, or any other for that matter, so I don't even pay attention to which poster actually writes it...

But hey if the shoe fits.:D:tongue:

How is that? It goes to show how the club has been pampering Pato for too long. People say his lack of performance is because of this and that, because of Allegri, because of Ibra, because of the weather... He's been given every chance a guy can expect, and all the perfect conditions to grow and prosper. But he hasn't.

You're just jumping high because the word "coke" is mentioned.
Jesus, grow up. Many here, myself included, have done more coke than Pato.

How is that?

It's intellectually dishonest because you don't strike me as someone dumb enough to believe a silly rumour, and spread it as fact, which is what you're doing now. Do you have close ties to Milan? What are your sources? Answer that instead.

The two don't correlate. Hiding the fact that one of your players has a cocaine addiction has nothing to do with being pampered. They would do the same thing for any player. You know this too. Anyways, this is so ******ed. I can't believe I've entertained this for so long without a shred of evidence. You haven't even given a good yarn yet, nevermind proof.

You're just jumping high because the word "coke" is mentioned.

Nah, it's because you're talking rubbish. I couldn't care less what you, or any other consenting adult do on their free time.

Journalists could report it but at the same time, most players (specially from top clubs) know who the journalists are, teams know how to deal it with journalists too (pr/deals not really something unusual in the football world among top clubs).

Journalists can't report this stuff without a proper proof like a tape. If they do it without a source they will be sued. They have the same sources as normal people - other people, second hand information. If they go as far as get and release a proof, the club/player will make a war against the man an the press. Editor's would never let it happen, this stuff can ruin the credibility of a paper, cost money, close doors.

But most of all they don't want to do it. It's not ethical to report on players private life, their affair must be what happens in the field.

Around here there's a lot of widespread rumours of players from Internacional and Grêmio doing shady stuff, cases of homossexualism, drugs, violence... I know for sure some of those are true while others I really doubt. Journalists always know, but they don't speak about it openly. Though if you know the stories, you'll always catch some jokes or comments in a different way.

Well spoken. Except saying players from Internacional and Grêmio are into drugs and violence.

Then maybe I'm not someone who would do that. Consider that possibility.

I`m not sure when was the last time (if ever) that I saw people write such incredibly ridiculous stuff, without even a hint from the media, not even a slightest rumour on the back-page of a fucking local newspaper. Trolling this hard should warrant a ban

If you don`t think media all over Italy (and then Europe too) would be filled with news about Pato doing drugs if he was, you don`t just hate the guy, you`ve reached an unprecedented idiocy levels.

Then why respond? Why even waste half of a braincell to even think about such nonsense, attention whoring, whatever.....

Anyway did another google search. This time instead of ''drugs'' i entered keyword ''coke'' along with ''pato''. Only results i got back were related to a Pato Banton song ''I dont Sniff coke''. In other words Google didnt even return the results of the post that originated from this site let alone a credible and decent site.

If Google search can ignore pointless drivel than so can u folks, learn something from it.:g:

Borriello during his 1 year long injury, Pippo around 2004ish....

True. There's also many other reasons not just the lack of proper evidence, Fredrik is right on where he talks about them losing the priviledges of being part of those 20-30 reporters that follow the team around (there's terms and conditions I assume when you become one of those)...and there's others that simply don't think its something worth it to discuss (my dad for example is always one that believes in the privacy of others and that the news is something else...obviously this is a more rare breed).

Borriello's lumbago? I was close with Nesta's bad back.

Pippo... not too surprised if it did happen, he's pretty much a coked up socialite with his personal life.

What's the proof for Borri's injury? We really could have used him...... we were first. He was tearing shit up.

Well think about it a bit, he had been suspended once for doping (yeah it was Belen's creams, btw, Belen came out not too long ago stating she did cocaine several times), do you think it was worth the risk of a bigger ban (or lifetime ban, not sure)?

Same thing goes for Pato, I think.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Pato's thing was in the past, exactly in the point he got divorceed. I do remember that weird injury about 2 years ago where everyone was like "wtf" and there was no issued statement on what it was exactly.

Seriously, if you have no credible sources to stories like this about Pato or any other player or staff, in this thread or any other, do not post it!

I expect some random site to pick this shit up from this thread and post an article about it (happened before), and then those three with inside info to parade it across the forums..

You pretty much lost credibility on anything with this for me (though some of you are known for talking shit anyway even in off topic).

I think we've proved it's nothing people want to hear about.
But try the search in italian, and you'll something at least.

The replies say: Imbicille! Cretino, ridicolo, ahhahahaha and so on.

Doesn't matter. There are several independent, very credible sources.

Can you name one of them? It doesn`t even have to be by name, just what he does and how did get from him to you.

While trying to make something up, have in mind that you weren`t interested in Milan back then.

Also, how come you two crazy and 84 haven`t talked about it before? It happened in 2008 (more than 3 years ago) and you found out about it just recently.

I like how you guys are saying "most top footballers do coke (they might or might not), we know this" but the only major case I could remember quickly is Mutu.

So if the case is many players do it but not many get reported that means that all their clubs are pampering / protecting them not just Milan protecting Pato.

Yes we know that Pato has been protected but we know all Milan players get that treatment in some form. The only real problem is Pato isnt performing and thus the hate. Seedorf, Inzaghi and fucking Flamini are still on our books!!!!!! How long did we carry Onyewu, Kaladze etc. All we really know is Ambrosini called into question his work ethic, Seedorf said dont praise him that much and the coaches (all three) have said he has to mature on the pitch.

As I said before say he is lazy or pampered or whatever but the straight "he was doing drugs" or that Milan went soooo far to protect him when they do it for all their players is bias especially without any shred of evidence.
