Pioli made shit subs honestly. Giroud and RLC played the whole game.

Leao played a garbage game, but Leao is Leao. He just needs one play.

He did not. Pulisic, Leao and Ben were all shit and needed to go sooner, Adli and Chuk were probably our two best players in the end. Loftus and Giroud were both shit but neither Musah or Jovic would have improved us because they're both worse. Right subs but he should have done them 15 minutes earlier.

to run with the ball from midfield. piolissimo get ball and run like chicken or keep passing sideways
I think RLC could be a monster in a double pivot if you could convince him to actually try on defense.

Inverted Fullback tactic that Pioli is so fond of only works for teams who fall for it.

De Rossi's Roma and Merda won't, which is why it shouldn't have been used.
Hope Padre learns his lesson.

Same garbage with dropping Bennacer between defenders, especially this game where our fullbacks are useless. Roma doesnt press and now you’re one goal down playing a back 5.

Why wouldn't it work if they're 6th?
They would take the last place from the 5th spot.

If Atalanta finish 6th and win EL and Roma finish 5th, then Atalanta would take the 5th and last spot from Roma.

Edit: Nope, I was wrong.

If Atalanta wins EL but end up outside of the CL spots 4th/5th, Serie A gets 6 teams, meaning Roma in 5th would also be qualifying.

I don't even mind if we lose after playing well.
I can live with a few people being off or trying things that fail.

This listless display time and again with the best players looking like ghosts is unacceptable and paint us poorly. You can't say you are a big club back on the rise and constantly look like trash.

If there is no De Rossi hype, let's say he's nothing special, that makes this performance even more damning.

It means that the gameplan to beat Pioli is so obvious that even a phony like De Rossi can implement it.

I believe more in the latter actually. @brk just gave a good explanation how Piolis tactics work against man marking teams like Atalanta but fail against those who don't or simply don't give a fuck.

Pioli has this ability to be incredible stubborn.

De Rossi I need to see more. He didn't impress me at all with SPAL, but he's doing a tremendous job with Roma so far. Then again, Palladino outplayed Pioli with Monza too... Pioli has this thing that when he fucks up, he fucks up royaly.

Honestly not mad we lost but am furious about those little things.
Am half mad about OG missing that tap but that moment before where he missed a simple 1-2 with Theo got my blood boil.
Adli, Chuk & LC missing 5 meters passes killed me.
lol Theo clearly going for a give and go in that situation and Giroud back heels it 16 feet in the opposite direction. He then puts his hands up like wtf were you doing m8

Someone post a "choke" gif please... Fuck that was poor!!!

I wouldn't say they deserved it, but neither did we... What the fuck was the plan. Where was the passion, the ambition?

No movement, our passing was average at best.

We had chances sure, but that was a poor showing :(

Kinda glad I didn't go now...

But it's half-time, we can definitely score a few against this team!!!

Also, De Rossi inviting Milan to attack could've backfired easily if Giroud scores the easiest tap-in of the year or the VAR does its job and awards the pen.

I know if it was vice-versa, people would definitely hold that against Pioli too. So no, I don't think De Rossi did a flawless job tonight. Excellent 1st half. Too passive 2nd half. The result says he was right. But it didn't needed much to tell a whole different story.

That will set us back

There is nothing left for him to impart.
- how many times do we have to see the same movie???
As Taylor Swift said:

"I think I've seen this film before
And I didn't like the ending"

I want to secure second and get to the EL final, but that doesn't mean Pioli stays.

If our manager next season depends on a string of result, that's a worrying fucking game plan by upper management!!!

Who knows about De Rossi? He's done a good job so far and him being a success at Roma would be a great story for the romance of the game, but I don't care.

He's apparently from the same philosophy as RDZ, for what it's worth.

Regardless, though, we've seen this before. We've seen these tactics, these ideas. Atalanta stopped using the tactics that Pioli used on him, which is why we did so poorly against them, though we played well in our 1-1 draw that was undeserved, we should have won.

The point is, even a dogmatic coach like Gasp changes things up. Our only consistent tactic was crossing.

Our best moments come from individual talent, because they aren't repeated. They're not game plans.

If opponents don't play the way Pioli wants, he has no idea what to do. He used to. Or maybe he still does, and refuses? I dunno.

Even if it was a draw, the problems are there, the issues in our marking, pressing triggers, rest defense.

There is so much going wrong, a better team than Roma will pick them apart.

Bologna did that earlier this year when we drew with them.

Piolis cycle has ended. I've never changed idea even in the last few weeks as I've said many times. I want him to end the season on a high because I still feel attached to him due to all he did for and achieved with us. It's been an incredible ride we all could only dream about five years ago after Yonghong defaulted.

But yeah, the signs are there ...

Thiaw is a senderos regen. Not worth developing further. Management should take the plusvalenza in the summer.

In addition to the coaching duel that grandePioli miserably lost to the brat de Rossi, the attitude of most players to their business was very upset. For which they get very good money, by the way, going to the playoff match as a training match in July is a shame. Not everyone, being slandered by everyone and me, including Calabria, was one of the few who wanted to play and not parade along the podium

I believe that we can pass the Roma at the end, but we all want the performances that were on Tuesday/Wednesday in Madrid, London and Paris to return to Milan. It's IMPOSSIBLE with Pioli
