That Thiaw pass to Santi should have been a goal. Bro needs to quickly learn how to release a shot using his right foot.

Didn’t see much of the game at all tonight, any encouraging signs?

Feyenoord were very compact and didn't let us play pressing all the time. We will win in San Siro 100%
Not to mention their pitch looks super narrow. Not a lot of room to operate in on the wings. That's why Joao was so important and looked better than the wide players.

Might be worth trying Chuck or Sottil on the right with Puli on the left at the weekend. I'm done with Leao.
Personally I would be surprised if Pulisic can start the weekend. Im hoping he is available next week even. If you watch those last 7 minutes or so he was hopping around at times after he made that run to the left and got beat by the defender on the return pass down the byline. The announcer even mentioend Pulisic beaten for pace there by Moder. Right after on the way back he was hopping gingerly and Chuk was getting readied.

Tomori better than Thiaw in Conceicao's system was not on my bingo card, but there we are.

Gabbia though.. not built for Sergio's system? He's not sick no more.

A few things to consider when the anger wears off:

Our new signings arrived last week.

The whole team is new to Sergio's 442 since we're only now starting to use it.

This should have been an acceptable 0-0 first leg away if Mike's brain worked.

Can we perhaps hire a set-piece coach? We’re so bad at corners, not even a lucky chance created.
Im not sure I agree with the premise but statistically (over time) it is better to use short corners and keep the pressure and possession deep in the final 3rd than it is to whip balls into the box.

The opponent was better organized, compact, combative, smart, plus the factor of the home game and the rain helped. I think we'll roast it on San Siro. If Serge sees today's mistakes before then and finds the proverbial balance. You can't attack everyone at once, that's a simple Italian truth. It is necessary to let those who are tired sit on the bench. We need to start games with three haves. Today it could be done with Terraciano. He would have helped the dead Fofana fresh, and Tijani would have played halftime on the attack, and Felix would have come out in the second half and torn up their entire home stadium. But we are not looking for easy ways, we will fight in 4-2-4. By themselves. And we will spend the second half even worse than the first. So what's more, TJ and Fofana have hit it off again and will continue to be ready for the championship match. In that way. Feyenoord is a grand team with a strong tradition and history, just like Dinamo Zagreb. They are all there with character, and the club has just reached the final of the European Cup recently. A scythe on a stone. It's up to the class, tactics, and coach's reaction to decide.

Gabbia will be remembered for Zagreb for a long time.

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini

It’s the overall performance that has annoyed me. Just poor throughout. A terrible error by Mike and Walker was opened up too easily for the goal. It is the overall performance that is just unacceptable.

With that said, I actually still believe we can win next week. But you know, it depends again on Leao's mood, Theo's mood etc the usual.

Oh and if Mike we're getting next week is the good Mike.

I agree new team and all but why no desire? Every player lost every dual. As they didn't want to get hurt. Its simply not good enough

Pavlovic, Tomori and chuck showed energy and desire.

That’s at least in their control. Rest of these fuckers

Reijnders has lesser offensive impact once we play Joao in the middle. Our overall play revolves in Felix now. I don’t like it.

I've always thought this team likes glamorous games

games against better teams

against regular good or below average teams

always very disappointing performances where if we can win

its an extremely close game and one bad or lucky goal seals it

no consistency

Joao Felix is not the answer if you expect him to be your maestro. We are worse if we continue to play through him.

He's wasteful and tries to do too much, isn't direct and his final product has never been good enough. He'll show flashes where you think he can be the answer but he's just not good enough. His former clubs and national team have all realized this and now we will.

The sooner we realize that he's just a spot starter/sub the better off we'll be.
