Him learning how to cross probably has a lot to do with players getting into better positions.
He's easily been been our better fullback in the last two games.

I can't say I remember a game where Abate was this good offensively. First 5 min and he puts a good ball in the area, than later a few times gets in good positions and does an assist. If he had gotten that goal in the second half, it would have been close to Menez performance .
The only issue, if we try to be picky is that the first goal comes from a cross that he could have covered better. He doesn't have the ball control and passing of a midfielder and that also penalizes him when he doesn't get the ball behind the defender.
Hope he continues this way

I always liked Abate, even since he started to play for Milan when he was young. Fuck haters... I remember one person in this forum said Zaccardo is better than Abate.

the problem were not assists but the problem was players positionings.
with allegri milan players did much more crosses per game, de sciglio, emanuelson, abate and everyone looked like shit, because we had no players and no tactics to score from crosses.

Good game but i need to see more consistency. If he plays like this till jan, then we should extend his contract. He is still just a decent player, has very poor ball control and technique.

I am a fan of his as he is out product but he did have a long spell when he played just average. Dorf was picking Mattia even when he played worse than Abate. Mattia has natural talent but for players like Abate you just need to consistently play to be in form. I have other issue though: didn't he know how to cross well( fairly impossible) or some shitty coach told him to drop low balls from the right side?

Seems another case of turning on the jets to get a deal. He appointed Raiola and Juve is behind him. Raiola and Abate kinda have Milan by the balls.

If he's even considering Juve he can fuck off. Any Milan youth who considers that can fuck off. But I don't think he is.
I hope there will be an extension. He's not as good as I thought he would be at this age, but still a good player to have in the squad.
He isn't worth 3million a year as he is to easy to be replaced by a cheaper option. We should keep him though but I don't believe he will go lower than 2.5 per season. The wage bill isn't that bad and we should focus on getting rid of Matri rather than worrying now much we pay Abate. I doubt he will move to Juve as Juve will be going downhill by the end if the season and won't keep all best players next season. Also, only staying in Milan guarantees him staying in touch with NT even if he is getting benched now and then.

I'm certain he's considering all options. He's a pro, not a fan boy.
I don't think he's anything special, but I'd rather keep him than see milan end up panicking and signing darmian for 10 million.

This is true.Our best RB for a long time now, and looks like he learned how to cross hahha. So he's only getting better.Keep. If it takes 3 mil, give him 3 mil.
He's the only player from the Leonardo time who still starts for us.
Abate is useful to us. We wan't find a better suited RB for the squad we have. He's defensively solid, which a Team with our shity defense needs badly but also seems to offer some good work offensively. Even if his crosses go back to shit again, his speed alone whole going forward gives as that extra man the opposition has to keep an eye on while defending.

He is playing like it's a contract year. I would have to say these have been the best two matches of his Milan career. Whatever happens after the season, we need him to keep this up because it has been a true joy to watch him play up to his potential and perhaps even beyond against Lazio and Parma. This is the exact type of effort we need if we are going to reach 3rd, or have any dreams of competing with the top 2 in Italy.

It will be very stupid to let this guy leave on a free transfer. Give him a contract extension before all the Juve's and PSG's contact his agent offering him crazy money. I'm sure he would prefer staying here if he gets a decent raise. We can be cheapskates if we want to keep our first teamers. Especially not when we're paying close to 5-6? million for players/coach we've loaned out and not even using (Matri, Nocerino, Robinho, Seedorf , etc.)

He's almost as good as gone, last transfer season we offered him to Fiorentina for a swap with Pasquale.
Two good games don't cancel previous performances. If you take into account how he played last season, 2 mill is the most we should offer him. I don't blame him for wanting to leave, he got a good agent at milking the best possible deal so I wouldn't be surprised that he probably already has offers lined up for 3+ million per year.
If he plays like this the entire year, he deserves a 3 mill salary but at that point, I'm sure Raiola will find other teams willing to pay more.
I don't consider him a big loss, some games he's played good and some he hasn't, he'll be almost 29 when next season starts and fullbacks have usually a faster decline than other positions, especially someone like Abate that relies heavily on speed.
