Instead its the standard 'bend over for the big swede' mentality, that is expected....

There is absolutely nothing wrong with such a mentality. For all Swedes, not just the big one.

There's one of Pep too. Looking for the trophies he'll never win again.

Galliani answering questions tweeted to @acmilan:

Who do you think were the top 3 signings while you were in charge at Milan?

Galliani: "May I say 4 of them? I would say: Van Basten, Shevchenko, Kakà and Ibrahimovic"

:fp:

Embarassing.

I'm with m84 on Zlatan as a person. Even though Fred and the others will say Zlatan has said nothing, you know that he's such a whiny bitch that there would be some sort of a problem if he didn't get mentioned.

Ibra still didn't say anything. That would make you and Senatore the whiny bitches.

Can't be more clear that it's a "keep him happy" PR answer driven by Zlatan + his entourage. Quite disrespectful to other great signings in the past 26 years.

Hide behind that as much as you like, but you know full well any other response and he turns into a kid.

Ibrahimovic alongside MVB, Sheva and Kaka?

Not only is he not as good as those guys, but he's achieved fuck all with Milan in comparison.

He doesn't add Zlatan, and I'm pretty sure tomorrow we'll be either reading how Mino is in talks with City or RM (later in the 2014 edition of his book we learn that he wasn't feeling true to himself at Milan) or how we renewed his contract to add another million or two to his wages.

nah... purposely screwed up the word as a rebuttal to the screwed up statement of proclaiming a guy who hasn't completed 2 seasons one of 4 greatest signings of last 25 years. (same way people use expressions like brain smartly etc. here)

You know cause milan didn't win 5 ucl's (none which he was involed in) and 8 league titles over that era too, and certainly didn't have countless other legends who will be remembers fair longer than zlatan. You know like the original DMs (Rijkaard, Desailley), the original #10 (boban), the last great italian defender (nesta), the only CURRENT great CB (Thiago)... and the list goes on...

fuck could make same point for kaka

--

this is the reason i dislike zlatan on personal level. Galliani doesn't say this crap, raiola's out demanding wages or a transfer by midnight...

:fp: Have you thought about writing transfer market "articles"? I think you'd qualify for a job doing it based on that line. :)

And Galliani rated him as one of the four best signings of his time in Milan, who knows what Galliani takes into account with that statement. Outside of a pure rating of the football qualities of a player, there are other aspects that could come in to the rating a signing: cost of transfer (and recently for Milan especially transfer fee compared to real value), positive psychological impact on team's mentality, sporting results, increased income from titles and qualifying for competitions that provides income by participation like CL, Italian Super Cup, Club World Cup, public interest in star players, increased income from merchandise and sponsors etc.

Here's more questions Galliani answered: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ilmilanista.it%2Fnews%2Fla-squadra%2F2012%2F03%2F19%2FMILAN-Galliani-su-Twitter-rivivilo-Da-Messi-ad-Ibrahimovic-dalla-Champions-al-vino-L-ad-rossonero-a-360-%2F15865%2F

I see what Galliani is on here... IMO top signings are different from the best players he signed...
Cause if we consider the context of the deal, signing Ibra was really a masterpiece by Galliani. Also the symbol of the current generation of Milan.

Strange that some react like that (except Senatore, who "dislikes Zlatan on a personal level").
Galliani has mentioned Ibra along those many times. Nothing new. "Van Basten is the player closest to my heart, but if Ibra continues like this..."
You also mix up career achievements and club achievements.

Nesta. Last minute transfer, august 31st. He was either heading to Inter or Juventus. Difference between a CL winning team (and dominant european force) and a Domourund (or whatever his name was), Roque Junior, Martin Laursen dependent defense that was going to float around 4th place in Serie A. And a servant for Milan in the last 10 years. I mean that's a masterpiece (short-medium and long term signing that gave us all we needed and who has been an important piece of the titles we've won in this 10 years).

But if what Galliani meant was, "Get top player for loan, then sign him on the cheap, pay in installments plus screw Barca." Then yes, it was a great piece of business.
But certainly not the best player he've signed.
Nesta signing was a complete shock, last day signing top class player big fee.

Greeeat moment. I remember when we got him I started cartwheeling around the house. :O. Nah. But I did went to my brother's room to troll him (wake him up) "NESSSTTAAAAA".

But really the problem for me more than anything is just lets imagine today Zlatan decides to retire just simply cause he's tired...is he still a masterstroke transfer? (as oppossed to say how we trolled Inter 10 and 11 years ago? I mean there not only did we improved our team but we took 2 players-among a certain quantity-from our chief rivals who became key to our success in the next years) You define those over a period of time, looking at not only their value as a transfer and the moment it was done but how much you got from them in the field, and if they were worth it.

Zlatan can be on his way to be one, but not there yet. I can really smell the stink of "non mi chiami il piu grande? ma che cazzo credi di sei" tarzan like expression behind Galliani's talk.

I agree with you here... But you know Galliani/Milan PR stuff. It's always about strikers and offensive midfielders.

It was Crespo to Inter, no?
Both presented in San Siro before a derby.

true.

if berlusconi could have his way milan would have a defense made up of all italians, preferably youth products, and glamour attackers from around the world.
