We've just chosen so badly recently.
The recruitment is far more important.

I say this because it shouldn't take much to get top 4 with this current squad.

So 24/25 we neglected defence way too much by playing without a midfield. Fofana and Reijnders in a pivot. Both don't like to defend. And that cost us every time against the bigger teams.

This season, it was the exact opposite. We dropped points more often than we won against teams at the bottom of the table.

Just find the balance! We are built to hurt top teams when they give us space! We've proven that with some good wins in the UCL too! With leao and Pulisic and the fact teams weren't really going to respect/fear us.

We need a manager that doesn't play the same tactic every game. When we come up against a bottom half teams, obviously we can't play the same way against a Como. I can't defend playing 5 at the back at home against relegation sides! And keeping it like that with 20 minutes left and chasing the win!

It's not rocket science. But it will take a good manager to push us to a scudetto. Annoyingly I felt it was definitely there to win 24/25and maybe even this season just gone. No excuse for not pushing inter harder.

Ten. Not twelve. The number in the title is an inconsistency in the document that has no substantive relevance, but it does cause confusion if taken literally. The actual board is what emerges from the list, not from the title.

Why does it matter? Because Article 15 of AC Milan's bylaws requires a minimum number of nine members. With ten directors in office, the margin before reaching that critical threshold—the one that would require an emergency meeting—is only one director. A razor-thin margin, precisely when co-optations, resignations, and appointments are being discussed.

The point that the sports press continues to cover superficially is this: Gerry Cardinale is not a simple external "partner" who issues directives over the phone. He is a member of the Board of Directors with delegated powers formally granted in the minutes of November 6, 2025, to be exercised by a single signature with the right to sub-delegate. This means that, legally, he can act on behalf of the club on a wide range of matters.

The powers granted to Cardinale include general representation before public and private entities, national and international authorities, sports federations, courts of all levels, chambers of commerce, and trademark offices. He can sign correspondence, execute board resolutions, represent the club at meetings of its subsidiaries, manage the stadium dossier, and appoint and dismiss lawyers and consultants.

So far, so good. The limit comes when it comes to contractual activity. For ordinary banking transactions, the limit is €500,000 per transaction. For the negotiation and signing of contracts—consulting, sponsorship, merchandising, leasing, and services—the annual limit is €500,000 per individual contract. Above this threshold, Cardinale cannot sign alone. A collegial resolution from the Board of Directors would be required, or the presence of a CEO with appropriate powers.

To avoid any misunderstanding: for the club's day-to-day administration—communications, institutional representation, and management of subsidiaries—Cardinale is fully operational. The problem arises as soon as you move up the ladder, and in football, you move up the ladder with embarrassing frequency.


This is the point that directly touches on the coach issue and the timing of the transition. The contract with a new coach worth million euros per year—the figure circulating in recent hours—explicitly falls within the powers of the CEO, not of the director Cardinale.

The minutes of November 6, 2025, grant Furlani, with sole signature for up to €30 million per transaction, the power to negotiate, stipulate, amend, and terminate—among other things—the "agreements for the definition of the relationship relating to the sporting performance of footballers and agreements with coaches, technicians, and talent scouts." The word "coaches" is explicitly written in the minutes. There is no room for interpretation: that contract, within the current power structure, can be signed by Furlani as CEO, or by the Board of Directors as a body through a specific resolution.

Furlani has not yet signed his resignation as CEO, nor has the Board of Directors yet resolved to revoke his mandate—at least not according to public documents as of the date of this writing. Until this situation is resolved in one of the ways envisaged, AC Milan cannot finalize the contract with the new coach without either Furlani or an urgent board resolution. This is why the Board of Directors' meeting in the next few hours is not a formality: it is an operational necessity.

For transactions between €30 and €100 million—large sales or significant acquisitions—the structure was even more complex: joint signature between Furlani and Cardinale (or alternatively between Furlani and Scaroni). Without an operational CEO, even those transactions require a collegial resolution for each. In the midst of the summer transfer window, this mechanism becomes a bottleneck.

And there are people who insist Furlani wasn’t a power hungry little rat. When so many of us saw it from the beginning he screamed Napoleon complex from the very start.
