i remember reading the same about giuntoli at juve and how jealous you were of their business

too bad he got killed at the end
Giuntoli was a darling at Napoli as Motta was as a coach at Bologna. Both failed miserably at Ladri, so I guess that going by past successes doesn't guarantee future ones.

The only thing I can say is that I'm glad I'm not the one making the choices or we'd be in even worst shape than we've been. That's why I don't get the big bucks.

Whoever counts Modric as serious MF for this season, needs brain exam

So by placing another CB in front of maignan and closing the play, our defence will be as leaky?

Idk, judging from memory, maignan did not exactly had stellar saves in the 1st part of the season, even if he was solid.

When did we start conceding easy goals? February, no? Around the time Modric got injured and Rabiot also missed some games.
The problem with our defence has always been there even during Pioli's "4 at the back" era and it also showed up during Fonseca's, Conceicao's and maybe it wasn't really visible earlier during Allegri's era but there were signs of errors. I think this leaky defensive problem has to do with individual players mostly the defenders .

Maignan covered a lot of defensive errors during the first part of the season and it was more obvious who was keeping out the goals during the second part of the season. Nobody noticed the defensive problems earlier in the season due to us winning games and keeping clean sheets.

yeaaa not really

Rabiot
Jashari
Ricci
Comotto
and Presumably Modric
Maybe Fofana

not counting Musah & RLC
for 2 positions, is definitely too stacked

Stacked full of fodder tho.

Yeah we definitely need more. I count 3 maybe 4 we can rely on there atm

I feel like Comotto can pull off a vice rabiot role against bottom teams. Camarda is still in the air as far as minutes go. He bulked up nicely and got taller in the past couple of years, it'll be interesting to see what archetype he leans towards. When he was younger he was a bit more winger-y and liked to run w the ball but I feel like a mobile targetman role would suit his build and skillset more. Don't think he'd be bad as a chasing a goal late sub when you wanna spam crosses in the box

The thing w comotto that makes me believe in him is his intuition. For example Bart has skillful moments but doesn't have an innate intuition of when to do what and needs to fuck up a buncha times until he learns to not do a thing, comotto just moves like a mature player. if he maintains a good attitude and avoids injuries I can def see his floor being a Magnanelli level mid
Comotto reminds me of a young Albertini.

Massaro is being sarcastic . I think 2-3 of those midfielders will have to leave before maybe 1 or 2 players come in.

Max Allegri during his firs Press-Conference in Naples:

"Football isn't about data; it's about what happens on the pitch, where you need top players to win matches. Relying solely on data is too simplistic. If data alone were enough to win, football would be easy -but it isn't. Data simply reflects what happens on the pitch."

We need also a left footed OM, who unlike Nkunku can make accurate shoots-passes and unlike both Nkunku and Pulisic can make some drribling.
If Zaniolo can replicate the season he just had at Udinese we'd be in great shape on the right side of the two behind the striker. Not only for his 5 goals and 6 assists for a weak offensive team but because of his overall play that impressed me when I watched him.

I thought his career was over and didn't rate him after failing at Atalanta and Fiorentina so had no expectations for him. While a youth player at Inter Zaniolo was one of the most hyped prospects in Italy and at Roma initially was so good that Inter fans were complaining that they included him as part of the deal for Nianggolan.

Bad attitude, injuries, and poor performances dropped his value to almost nothing but he somehow pulled himself up and saved his career. For 15 million would be worth a risk if Amorim is convinced by him.

Plus the bar is too low at italy. All he has to do is qualify and they'll build statues of him all over the country.

Atleast at Spain there's genuine pressure to win a World Cup

But IMHO...there's 3 countries id like to see him coach

1. Netherlands
2. England
3. Brazil
He isnt needed with Brazil, they have Carlo

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
Harsh penalty. It will make it a good game though.
