I put it to you that any player who can shine on the biggest stage at 16 is a cerebral, high iq player. I am willing to generalize the hell out of this. I take your point about Barcelona churning players who fizzle out, but as of now, what Yamal has shown is remarkable for where he has shown it and when he has shown it.

This kind of precocity is rare.
If Yamal played for us we would be labelling him as the best thing ever lmao.

Yamal is very good indeed but Tbf I just don’t see the skillset in him that would put him in the Messi cr7 prime bracket in the long run.

Would be more like a Isco tier player which is very good but not the absolute best. Although Isco at one point was class anyway.

Nobody cares though. The league is in decline. Italy can keep their inter team and become irrelevant for their stupid decisions
Cmon, how can we not care... been attached to Milan for over 30yrs

Quantity of goals is one of the main things missing from Yamal's arsenal
Messi AND CR7 learned quickly to leave off all the fancy tricks and flicks and focus on the one thing that matters - goals
Looking at him developing, it's getting there.

Funnily enough scoring has never been a problem for Mbappe, but Yamal's skillset, though less advanced appears to be wider

what if....what if... we can finally find a top tier player coming from our youth sector... one can dream....
I wish hey. Hope so

Kostic and maybe cisse. I think cisse looks talented but I have seen this movie before.

Yamal is the best player of all time in his age bracket. Whether or not he will be a true goat is a question for the future. But he just turned 19 a couple of days ago - there are no player even close to what he is doing.

On a national team level, he already won the Euros while being the best player. He is not as good in this WC as he was in the Euros, but still an undisputed leader, to a team that just reached the WC final. On a club level, he already had 2 seasons with more than 40 g+a, leading Barca back to an elite team.

He came 2nd in the ballon door last year - if Spain would win the WC, it is really hard to argue against him winning the ballon door this year. Btw the current record holder for that is R9, and even he "only" won it as a 21 year old - Yamal could be the first teenager to win it. And it would be well deserved.

I am one of the 4 people in a pool I’m in that picked Spain. 24 picked France. About 9 picked Argentina. 8 picked England.

There was also someone who unironically picked Brazil.
The 9 would just be massaro and his other fake accounts.

Yamal had 16 goals in the league this season
Another 6 in CL.
- That was after the criticism the previous season that he doesn't score enough.

And he is still a teenager.

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini

For whatever reason, and I can't fault him for it, fik has always been incredibly loyal. I don't think he's leaving unless he gets a huge pay day or a big big EPL club comes in for him. Hopefully this Saudi bid has a great contract offer attached. Not sure if they're still offering the huge wages.

Similar parameters

Yamal can do more things. He can create as well as he can score. Started on the wing - Messi
Mbappe is the most dependable scorer in the world. He's a wing-forward but not really a winger. He plays best just off a true #9. There are smilarities with CR7 but it's not as good as an analogy with Messi as Yamal is

Also I'm not quite sure that Mbappe has CR7's full determination or work ethic. We'll find out as he ages.
Neither are particularly good at free kick. Neither is great in the air.
I'd say if CR7 and Messi are considered 100/100 footballers,
Yamal's (currently about 86) ceiling might be 100
But peak Mbappe is 95. He's currently at 90/100, i.e. I don't think he has much further to go
He still towers over everyone not named Haaland 88/100

I think Tomori will accept. Hes won a scudetto and played in a CL semi final for one of the biggest clubs in history. That’s basically the ceiling for a player of his ability.

Now he deserves to get the bag and chill out

Their team actually has a decent starting XI.
Feels like an upgrade.

_Yamal At just 19yo :

-Barca : 49goals /45 assist

-Spain : 8goals /11 assist

_Cr7 at this same age : 8goals Manu+Sporting /0 assist , 2goals with Portugal

_Messi at the same age : 2 goals/ 1 assist with Argentina 2golas/ 1 assist.

He is strong both physically and technically.

Obviously we want Camarda to become world class, but I wouldn’t mind if that guy were Kostic instead. It’ll be nice to finally see one of our shots in the dark paying off.

Edit; Kostic scored 11 goals in the Serbian top flight in 1200 minutes last season, basically a goal a game. I really hope we don’t demote him to Serie D. He seems FAR more ready in his development vs Camarda, who hasn’t done anything of note since he was 15 (I hope I am proven wrong)

If there were any justice in football, Kvaratskhelia would be winning the Ballon d'Or

Thats a legit call aswell tbh. Unfortunately its very difficult due to him playing for Georgia so wont get wc brownie points.

Id rank him higher than kane

The football is there for sure
But is the mentality there too
Lots of players started off on fire (Pato, Cassano) but by the time they were 25 they were "what if" players
This is applicable even to players who went on to win stuff later on like R9 and Quaresma
The 2002 version of R9 was a pale shadow to what he was in 1998

If Yamal holds to this level till he's 30. I'm talking about who he is now - then he'd have a SUPER successful career.
If he keeps growing linearly, then he may even surpass Messi (highly unlikely. you need a special body and brain for that).
The odds are, that he'll go after the money and the women and lose himself somewhere in the middle as most of us would if we got that amount of money and fame before we even turned 20

Another thing is the influence of parents.
If he has relatively strict/conservative parents, he has a higher probability of reaching his potential.
But even then it's iffy.
Leao looks like he listens to his dad a lot but he often gets distracted and entangled in nonsense that isn't helping his career.
Mbappe looks like he has much stricter parents. And hence he's the Dictator :o

Alexandre Pato had 27 goals and 8 assists in 62 appearances before he turned 20.
CR7 and Messi are in the GOAT discussions not because they are the most skillfull footballers of all time, but because they maintained a very top level for 15+ years.
Let us see where will Yamal, Haaland and Mbappe are 5 years later.
Mbappe has completed 10 years at a top level, Haaland around 6.5, and Yamal has 2.

Last two world cups are among the best international football that i watched.
Last final, France-Argentina, is the best final i saw.
Hopefully a great game tonight & a better final.
