PPL tend to forget but besides Baresi&Maldini Billy Costacurta was also elite/world class in 90s, easly would be star in modern Milan/best italian defender nowdays (competition is so weak tbh). And then we got Nesta in the 2000s. Maldini-Nesta-Stam-Cafu is in my opinion the strongest 4-back in club football history. We had so much talent in evry position under Ancelotti that it is almost unbeliveble. When u look at modern squad...we fell so low...It’s amazing that this club had 2 of the best defenders of all time. Both from the youth program.
We gotta rediscover what made this club great.
I can’t think of a single top center back talent that we’ve produced in the last 20 years.
Growing up I never paid attention to defenders but for some reason Billy was my favourite at the back.PPL tend to forget but besides Baresi&Maldini Billy Costacurta was also elite/world class in 90s, easly would be star in modern Milan/best italian defender nowdays (competition is so weak tbh). Yeah, Nesta despite having a fragile physic managed to stop the Great Barca & Messi at 37 yo.I considered Nesta the best CB we’ve had. I didn’t watch Baresi, but during my time Nesta was my fav CB
Milan were extremely lucky to have many talented and world class defenders throughout their history.PPL tend to forget but besides Baresi&Maldini Billy Costacurta was also elite/world class in 90s, easly would be star in modern Milan/best italian defender nowdays (competition is so weak tbh). I wish Stam and nesta stayed a bit longer.Milan were extremely lucky to have many talented and world class defenders throughout their history.
While some are considered more iconic there was never any doubt Billy was every bit as important and talented as was Nesta. I consider them equals.
I loved the back four in the invincible’s and Rossi in goal. The back four of Maldini-Nesta-Stam-Cafu were also an unbelievable defensive four.
I was thrilled when Milan signed Nesta he had an elegance as a CB. Stam was a brute but a clever brute.
I don’t do the “Goat” conversation when it comes to Milan’s greatest defenders. I consider them equals and consider myself lucky to have seen them play for Milan.
Baresi and Maldini are the most iconic because both were one club men. They played for Milan and only Milan their entire career. Two great players who are were both revered incredible captains.
Thank you, There is something about unfinished art. But if i also know how good i could finish it if i didnt lose the file. I could start over again but the strokes would be completely different.I think it's great as is. It has an ethereal look to it.
Nice one bro. This is an unfinished digital painting i started from a few years ago of Franco and his brother Giuseppe. My hard drives got bricked and i lost the original file to finish it, but have this photo i took and sent to a friend of the work at ~30% complete.

RIP capitano #6, forever in our hearts
I wasn't able to watch prime Billy, so I can't speak to him, but saying that he was at Nesta's level is truly high praise, and I think Nesta is the greatest central defender I've ever seen. I knew Billy was an exceptional player, but I thought that was more like a case of being a top 15-20 CB in the world playing in a defense with 2 of the greatest defenders ever is truly an incredible group, but for him to be at a similar level to Nesta is truly something elseMilan were extremely lucky to have many talented and world class defenders throughout their history.

Oh yes Billy in his prime was a superb defender not quite a Baresi or Maldini but imposing and a key part of that back four.I wasn't able to watch prime Billy, so I can't speak to him, but saying that he was at Nesta's level is truly high praise, and I think Nesta is the greatest central defender I've ever seen. I adored him playing with Silva, while it doesn't match up to our legends, that is only because of us having such an incredible history, there are very few clubs where Nesta and Silva wouldn't have been their greatest ever central defense... it still pains me so much we let Silva go, he should have been our captain and cornerstone, truly don't think the Banter Era happens if he had stayed
It’s all your fault. Cause you dint follow us last season.Who even did this team get? Midfield and defence are the same shit as last year
Il capitanoBruh he played in serie b for us and captained in cl final
He was a titan of milan
A wingback aswell and an extra midfielder if Fofana, Rlc and Musah leaves. We need at least 1 cb. Good passer. We need 1 cam
I do not hate any Milan player, former or current, except for this one, Francesco Coco.Yeah don't forget Fluvio Colovati who was the starter of Italy in 1982 WC, in addition to Costacurta and Francesco Coco who was a great talent but his life style prevent him from leaving his mark in the history book, @pippofan do you remind him ? He became the LB starter forcing Maldini to stay as a CB.
Nusa and sarr would be dopeA wingback aswell and an extra midfielder if Fofana, Rlc and Musah leaves.
Rabiot - Jashari - Hojbjerg ( i would get for cheap ) - Modric isnt that bad.
Men i hope we do get one of Nusa, Maza, Uzun or Soule
