Pretty interesting takes on the Leao situation and the stall of our mercato that has us losing targets because they got tired of waiting for us.
I believe that Ramos is a good striker but we over-paid massively and maybe should have stopped at 50 take it or leave it. In the meantime due to lack of offers Vlahovic has been forced to lower his demands considerably but Carnevali is basically done with him and doesn't want him back.
I'm not saying that Vlad is better than Goncalo but would have been cheaper while experienced in the league. I have no problem over-paying a bit for Gila because I believe he's just what we need and a clear upgrade over Tomori.
After spending around 110 million for two players Gerry and/or Amorim decided to evaluate just about everyone before deciding who to keep and who to let go which sounds fine but the season is upon us and the choices are getting scarcer which resulted in us rejecting offers for Estupinian and possibly Musah and Fofana among others.
Most new coaches watch hundreds of hours of film of his players and can assess how they fit in his system but also the quality of their play so that they can be excluded right from the start, but giving everyone a chance delays everything.
As for Leao, I see pros and cons and there's really no right or wrong in mere opinions so the strong negative reactions to one's point of view are not warranted, imo

Rafa must understand by now that he's not the hot shot that maybe thought he was by the lack of interest by the better leagues. Don't know if that reality will humble him or if he's still confident in his talents and everyone that doubts them is an imbecile. The market dictates someone's worth and if nobody offers 50 million than you either keep him on the highest wage or sell him for less.
People would say how can you find someone better than Rafa at 40 million? The answer is we already have Pulisic, Nkunku, and Cisse` that can play there so you spend the 40 on a top CB or wing-back, positions that we desperately need to improve on.
Lots of teams do that when they have an abundance of talent on one position while very weak on another. Juventus sold Soule` because they have Yildiz and spent that money elsewhere. They sold Zidane but replaced him with Buffon, Thuram, and Nedved with the money they received. Not a bad return, I would say.
