Isn't Doué a RWB too? Amorim said something about Saele after the game, that he's playing in a new position and still needs to adapt. He also mentioned in his first pre-season interview that he'd seen Saele play on the left, so I assume Saele is our starting LWB for now, while Chuck was our starting RWB until this Moreira guy stepped in. Hopefully that means Chuck becomes his back-up, which I'm perfectly fine with, while Saele remains the starter on the left. I'm fine with that too if Saele can rediscover his Roma and early-last-season form. If not, we definitely need an upgrade there as well.

I'd also love to see Bartesaghi take over from Pavlovic. I genuinely think Barte would do much better than Pavlo in Amorim's system, and I'm saying that as Pavlo fanboy number one on this forum.

His style definitely suits RWB and cutting in. He's a much bigger improvement on Chuk. If Rabiot plays on the RAM position it can also become a 3-5-2 at times as well. Not sure if Amorim would do that.

I agree with you, it's almost certain he's the primary RWB and Chukwueze will be his deputy.

I would think Amorim likes Saele given his versatility. He can be deployed at left/right wingback or even in the AM positions if necessary.

Maybe not first choice now that Moreira is coming, but he's a great rotation option and we do need depth.

He even insinuated that Leao would find it hard because Saele has "changed positions" referring to the left side obviously.

I knew Moreira was tricky, very quick and had a good shot on him...but his final ball is also very good from the looks of it.

I'm not sure if you were around when jerking off over Leao and Theo was still en vogue, even when they were already showing plenty of signs of "I don't give a fuck". Pavlo was the complete opposite, so in a team full of self-entitled prima donnas, my sympathies naturally gravitated towards one of the few guys who looked like he'd literally bleed for the shirt and then get pissed off that there was still some blood left in his body.

Call me a tard as much as you want. I'm not blind to his flaws, but Pavlo remains my boy.

Leao is a little different to the fodders we want to get rid of.

Because we will likely be forced into accepting a lot of loans with options.

I think we should stand firm on Leao and say 50mil. I can almost guarantee someone will pay that in the final days of the window. He'll be the best player available so late into the window. And I'm sure we can find a young talent on loan with option at that point too.

That left side of our buildup looks dead. Pavlovic and Estupinian/Bartesaghi is not at the level or the rest of the first 11 now. We need a huge upgrade at one or hopefully both of those positions. I can live with Pavlovic at LCB if we improve the LWB position with someone that can balance Moreira/Chukwueze on the other side, and complement Pulisic.
