No we’re not. They will have an option. They can choose to trigger it or not, we dont have a say in it.

A free loan + option is ridiculous IMO. We should just keep him as backup to Ramos together with Camarda.
Now we need to sign another backup striker, while no money received for Gimenez
I agree, I find it strange we’re loaning him out, unless they really believe in Camarda. But I think the best thing for Camarda is a loan to Serie B, so in the end we’ll only have Ramos so we have to buy or loan a backup CF.

Amorim can unleash pretty much any player but Zaniolo and Rafa the crossdressing rapper. We will feast this season.

Adding a few rows of blank space to get us just a tiny bit closer to the next commode.

The commode will be Gerry Gerry nice!
Some would say Gerryious

So Moreira is potentially a 65m buy?

This is better Gerry.

I think what’s clear this time is that we’re finally moving in sync again when it comes to player acquisition. The players being bought clearly fit our declared game style and we’re getting them no matter what the cost.

This is a big upgrade over the mess of last season and the hesitation of previous years before that.

From a player cost perspective, as long as most of the new guys are on a reasonable 3 to 4m net, the crazy transfer figures aren’t that painful either. That was something I was hoping we do this summer, get rid of the worthless guys that cost us 8 to 12m a year, and get excellent players that only cost a little bit more. Moreira at 50m and 3m net will cost around 15m a year. Ramos was an exception at 22m a year. Gila 12m. For example, Ricci, Fofana and Gimenez each cost 12 to 14m a year. I think and hope the strategy is we increase the ceiling on the really good first team players, but drop the cost of the mid range players to a level that allows us to pay those top guys more. Instead of the likes of Ricci costing us 10m a year, we get someone that does the same thing (squad backup) for a third of the cost, and use that saving to pay for the likes of Moreira and Ramos.

This also fits in with the push for youth and Futuro, since Comotto is effectively replacing Ricci at this point and it looks like Alpha Cisse is replacing Leao, promoting Pulisic to first choice left side attacker.

It explains why we’re suddenly ok with spending so much this summer, as well as the fact that we’re not bound by FFP settlement agreement anymore and that Gerry is free from Elliott restrictions.

The problem obviously is that we’re putting all of our eggs in the Amorim basket. Let’s hope he’s worth it.

I’m keeping my expectations low, that’s why I’m always suggesting Rabiot at AM. But if Gerry can get us a left footed AM, and one or two CBs that can play football… baby you got a stew going.

About the "new Mister X" (assuming the post pre-announcing his arrival is true):
- it got to be an attacker (defense is extremely important but difensive players do not have the same "PR" value). My guess is AM or maybe CF.
- it has to fit in Amorim's system (everyone else we got this mercato does). That leaves out a number of high profile players.
- either Portuguese or somehow associated with Amorim

Interesting. If true.

As for the rest:
- please, please keep young players and give them playing time. Cisse above all, but also Camarda, Comotto, and Torriani.
- for years I keep hearing people (rightly) complaining about deals dragging too long, missing opportunities, settling for fodder. OK, so maybe we overpaid a bit, but it is not our money and all that really matters is how well these players will do when the season start. Until then, the jury is out, so please stop the whining.
- we still need to fix our defense. Right now, it is our biggest weakness.
- mildly encouraged, but I am with @Soldier of god - give us two scudetti and I may reconsider my opinion of Gerry and the lot

Yeah by overpaying, total offset: 30M(Ramos) + 10M(Gila on last year) + 20M or even 30M(Moreira)
Ramos 74m - 30m = 44m
Gila 30m - 10m = 20m
Moreira 50m - 30m = 20m

Ricci 23m - 23m = 0

Quick maffs

My ideal end to the market would be Soule, Tiago Gabriel and/or Inacio while sacrificing Pavlovic. I’d also prefer another dedicated LWB or RWB depending on how they primarily see Moreira. As CF backup, if we loan out Camarda, maybe we get Colombo back for them lists.

If we get someone like Soule then we won’t need a CM. Rabiot-Modric-Jashari-Comotto-Musah is enough.

Tomori, Nkunku, Leao, Fofana, Ricci, Gimenez, Estupinian, Terracciano, Bondo, Gimenez all out. Damn that’s a lot to ship out in two weeks.

I won't complain if we sign Soule, but I think we raised the bar with our purchases so far. Maybe B. Diaz is a better option. Rabiot shouldn't move from the CM position. Rabiot Modric Jashari Musah and Comotto is enough. If we loan Comotto we can put in EMERGENGY situations RLC there (since he is destined to stay, hopefully won't renew his contract).

Tiago Gabriel is a very decent option BUT imo we should focus on replacing the tree Pavlovic, not Gabbia. Can you recommend any top LCBs?

The CF backup you mention must arrive WITHOUT loaning out Camarda. If Amoric counts Camarda as the 2nd choice, then we should add a dinosaur for 3rd choice. We can't go on with only 2 strikers.

You wrote Gimenez two times. Still, a lot of deadwood in only two weeks. Let's see. Already Athekame and Odogu officially out. Kostic already sent to futuro. Fofana Tomori Nkunku officially frozen. Gimenez almost official Porto player. Bondo is like dead, he surely get a loan/sell. Teracciano also. The only outgoind players that worry me are Estupinan, Leao, and Ricci.

If it was up to me I would sign a tall stiker as a backup to compete with Camarda. My choice is Scamacca, a 1.95 m tower with plenty of Serie A experience.

B. Diaz for RAM. Last year on his contract. Real M. are our friends. Won't cost a lot (25-30 millions).

A top LCB to replace Pavlovic. I'm all ears about any recommendations.

Santiago Giménez to Porto, deal nearing definitive closure.

The operation has already been verbally agreed upon for days, but in the coming hours the Portuguese club will present the written offer it had announced to Milan: a free loan with option to buy.

The striker has already reached an economic agreement with Porto.

I rather send him to futuro than porto
Fuck porto loan with option, fucking poor club

Most sources online seem to think Diego play on the left

Personally I prefer that, we need at least one flank with explosive width and pace

Also, I’ll tear my eyes out if I need to watch Estu or Bart at WB

I’d like to see Bart trained at LCB going forward

Im getting optimistic. But just to throw it outthere, I hope you guys are ready for a game where we completely dominate Napoli but they somehow score with their only shot and corto musso us until the end.

God I hate Allegri.

Lol we are past that level. We don't need bit part players. We have those. We need stars. So them bit part players can look their best.
Ya I could care less about signing him. That’s a different argument

my post was more about addressing a RnBer who said he was a headless chicken

thats a very misguided assessment of the player

trying to insert the Galliani 'calma' gif but cant seem to attach gifs from Tenor nor find Milan related gifs elsewhere

btw Diego is definitely going to be playing LW, I find it very hard that we would field a midfield of Jashari/Modric and Chukwu/Diego at the same time. incredibly imbalanced, just like playing FIFA

im not sure im too sold on Morreira from the highlights, i'd rather wait to judge him after a couple of months.. the price is a very high one and I just hope that he has more to offer than just speed
