Can we finally get some Saudi money?
Likely what Will happen, and this may be optimistic. Will see if we will have the patience to deal with this. Gerry, but (more important) the fans. I can see many meltdowns. My realistic expectation is something along the lines of Roma or Como last season. Plenty of ups and downs, probably some games where everything suddenly clicks and others where we look like we've forgotten how to play football – but most importantly, a clear sense of where this journey is headed. Both eventually made it into the CL, although admittedly with a generous helping hand from us and Juve royally fucking up on the final matchday.
Of course I want us to hit the ground running immediately. I want to see Amorim-ball from day one and start smashing teams left and right. But how realistic is that outside of Football Manager when you're basically pulling a 180-degree turn in terms of football? New coach, new system, completely different principles in possession and pressing, several new starters and probably half the starting XI being asked to do things fundamentally differently than before. That's not something you install during a few weeks of pre-season and expect to work flawlessly from matchday one.
So for me, especially early on, performances and development will matter almost as much as results. I can live with dropped points and ugly games if I can see what we're trying to become and if, two months later, we're clearly further along than we were two months before. Something never seen under Allegri, mind you. Because what I don't want is another season of random football where every bad result sends us back to the drawing board and nobody seems to know what the actual plan is. Give me growing pains with a purpose, and then in the end, we'll see where that let us ending up. I can absolutely live with that.
Last friendly of the summer. They may never mentally recover from this.

Please don’t be influenced by online scammersI hope Kush is right and there are two more hits coming. Not sure if I prefer it to be an offensive player or a defender.
I had thought we would be in the process of signing one of them now. Can't be long until we hear something.
I’d be more worried if the optimism was built purely on the scoreline, but it was the performance that was really impressive. I’m getting excited because it really looks like everyone is on board from Gerry down, and we’re all rowing together.I really am hoping for another CB. Let's go silent assassins.
Keeping some of these players are gambles that I hope pay off.
If our bullishness is predicated on the Man Utd game, regardless of today's result for them, that worries me.
We will get more of an idea (not anywhere close to the full picture) tomorrow of where we are and I am genuinely rooting for Amorim to be the transformative figure he was at Sporting.
But jeez do I hate that 3421.
Or maybeI see the theme of teams pathetically rolling over for Inter for no reason continues.
I don't like the system, I don't like the spacing and I feel like the pockets of space to be exploited are ones that make me nervous and seem to be the exact weakness of 433 structures--I also feel like the system depends on leaning heavily on certain players to run more than they should have to.I actually adore the 3421 it's my go to formation in FM
rooting for this one
Not so fastI see the theme of teams pathetically rolling over for Inter for no reason continues.
When Porto SD googles santi gimenez, this list is gonna show up in the summary at the topSantiago Gimenez 18 month career with us so far:
- not even scoring 10 goals
- 15 months in Serie A without scoring goals
- being the first striker in our history to start at least 10 Serie A games, without scoring a goal
- injured for 7 out of 18 months
- breaking the leg of our most promising signing last season to ruin his season
Please Porto increase your offer for this superstar

Don't fall into the trap my friend.Monzaaaa
1-1
This young portuguese ST "Varela" can be the révélation of this season.Monzaaaa
1-1
They will capitulate in the second half. Not so fast
Trying is for children, not defending the performance of a professional athlete. He is no more than a backup quality player. The gabbia hate is weird.
You get what you get with the guy, but he tries and doesn't make as many brainfarts as the rest of the defence.
He's be on of the first names on my sheet in the absence of anyone levels above him.
Oh our sweet boy. Never change.I’d be more worried if the optimism was built purely on the scoreline, but it was the performance that was really impressive. I’m getting excited because it really looks like everyone is on board from Gerry down, and we’re all rowing together.
It will take time but so far it looks like we’re making fast progress.
Estupinian and Pavlovic is the stuff off nightmares...I don't like the system, I don't like the spacing and I feel like the pockets of space to be exploited are ones that make me nervous and seem to be the exact weakness of 433 structures--I also feel like the system depends on leaning heavily on certain players to run more than they should have to.
Again, I want it to work, it's just not my preference.
Dont think so. 40 s nothing in today market
I d take kean for 40 in a heartbeat to rotate with ramos. If he doesnt score 20 he ll be flop. Kvara was 70 ffs
There were things in that performance that worried me. It is true that we looked good, but I think many of the same issues that we saw in our other preseason games are still there.I’d be more worried if the optimism was built purely on the scoreline, but it was the performance that was really impressive. I’m getting excited because it really looks like everyone is on board from Gerry down, and we’re all rowing together.
