I’d be more worried if the optimism was built purely on the scoreline, but it was the performance that was really impressive. I’m getting excited because it really looks like everyone is on board from Gerry down, and we’re all rowing together.

I think CB and RAM are the bare minimum at this point and they need to be on the same level as Ramos, Gila, and Moreira.

It’s inconceivable to go into a season with RLC as the starting RAM. It makes me sick to even think of that pussy starting for us, especially in that role.

There were things in that performance that worried me. It is true that we looked good, but I think many of the same issues that we saw in our other preseason games are still there.

Pervis deserved to be sent off, and that's with us being dominant. The litany of defensive mistakes, from players we're supposedly relying on, and I worry about putting Cisse in a spot that I'm not sure he's ready for.

What we do with Leao, Pulisic, and Rabiot will be huge to our season, if we sell one, what do we get instead, do they come back to form, etc.

Player buy-in is going to be huge, but if we're about to rely on Pervis, Terracciano, Chuk, Musah, and RLC to be significant contributors, I'm going to be worried until I see it work.

I'm still not convinced we will go into the season proper with Bart and Pervis as the primary LWB pair. Feels odd with all the upgrades we're doing elsewhere.

Musah and Cisse are playing because Pulisic and Rabiot aren't ready. With them in the team, alongside a new right sided AM, I think we're fine for now. I'd appreciate upgrades at CB also, but looks like that's not happening now. Of those players we listed, none of them are going to be ideal first 11 players. They're squad rotation guys.

Ideally, in a typical 352/343, yeah. You play Saelemaekers RWB and Moreira LWB. That's probably how Belgium will play them. But for us, Amorim plays a left footed RWB, and that's a really important part of his gameplan. Moreira looks like he is Chukwueze Pro Max. They're very similar, although Diego does everything so much better. Maybe he plays Diego left, but in that case he's playing Chukwueze right, and that doesn't feel balanced to me. I don't think he's going to play Saelemaekers there.

All of the expected squad decisions that weren't clear before have been basically confirmed now. Moreira is the RWB and Pulisic the left AM. Saelemaekers is left AM deputy.

The only thing that's still not clear to me is if Amorim sees Rabiot as the right AM, or if he's Modric's partner.

Him not trusting Jashari tomorrow and starting with Musah maybe is a big clue that he see Rabiot as a CM primarily.
