I keep hearing this, but if we cannot sell Leao, I think he'd thrive in the role that Cisse played today. Cisse got to float out wide when he wanted and attack the defense when he had the chance.

I like the kid, I like what I've seen, but until he scored, he wasn't being particularly effective. I felt this way after the Man Utd game. Of course, a goal changes everything, and I'm so happy for the kid and I'm rooting for him. I hope Mancini ignores him and forgets that he's Italian.

He's a young player, and while I would love for him to explode like El Shaarawy (without the injuries and all that) and we find ourselves with our new star boy who becomes our Yamal, I don't want to put that pressure on him, not yet.

Our LAM is not really an AM, it's a winger. Amorim is doing the asymmetrical thing with us, where his RWB is more of a winger, his LWB is more cautious, his RAM is more of an AM, this is what he did at Sporting.

I'm curious to see how Pulisic would do. I think what Cisse does well is that he takes responsibility and he wants the ball, he wants to try things. Leao does that. Pulisic is less comfortable in that role, he is the 2 in a 1-2 punch. Of course, we haven't seen Pulisic under Amorim yet, I hope he thrives.

If we sell Leao, then we need to take that money and put it into a CB. If there is some left over, get another LWB, because unless we see some Pervis redemption arc (would love it) we are going to suffer with Pervis and Pav on the same side.
Leao would thrive in the role where Cisse put in a crazy defensive shift and held the ball up extremely well and kept a shot inside the stadium?

I don’t know

I don’t know
He could if he decided to

leao and Cisse in that spot could be deadly

Not saying he will want to but we saw glimpses of it pre season

What gives people the confidence that Bartesaghi would be good at LCB? Is it his terrible defensive marking?
People are basing this solely because he is tall.

Bartesaghi does one thing really well and that's cross the ball. He may become a good CB in the future but nothing in his current game points to this.

Cisse put in tons of efforts.

The-one-and-only-problem-Leao-ever-has-is-his-attitude.

No, faking that he has some enthusiasm and that he cares will never work.

He genuinely and sincerely does not give half a flying fuck about football in general, here or in the Portugal national team alike. We will never know what actually happened to him but he needs passion before his attitude can change. But at his age, we should just start developing younger kids. Leao is a lost cause.

His passion lies elsewhere far away from football. Football brings in a lot of money for him which will help to fuel his other passions. That is the one and only reason he is still in the game.

I said if Leao stays, and yes, Leao can do those things.

Cisse hit crosses into the stands, messed up chances, overdribbled often, which is fine, attackers need to try things, and he's a kid, and quite frankly I think our biggest issue is our defense, because only Gila looks decent and he can't last 90 minutes.

Once he went off we were on our heels.

Match ratings have always been weird and subjective, and I feel like the newer age ones might be worse in some ways, but yeah, the Google one is weird to me too, Gila was our best defender, I wonder if the computerized ones overvalue defender action in attack, because KDW did have a really nice sequence in Torino's box during a set piece (can't remember if it was a corner or free kick) because otherwise I don't get him being rated as highly as he was (fwiw, I think he is best off as a vice-Gila at RCB with a new player and Gabbia as the two in the middle

I also thought Ramos played well- he pressed like a demon, ran to open up space for teammates, and got on the ball a couple times where it was impressive he got there but had little space to do anything with it. I was very satisfied with how he played, and think he'll really shine when he has Rabiot and Pulisic behind him
That is what goes unnoticed

Yes striker has to score or assist

But there are some qualities that go unaccounted for. Drogba did that all the time in Chelsea. He allowed lampard to be the highest scoring midfielder of epl etc because he could hold up players and free up space for others to run into.

Goncalo is not the same player but he has a different style where he pressures opposition and they fold by getting dispossessed due to his high press.

Also he moves a lot and makes space for other players etc. he is also good at link up play.

Is he worth 74? Hell no.

Did i want him? No.

But I will hope he does well. He has qualities though that suit Milan.

People wanting to see Rafa better hope Pulisic is still in a funk and we fail to bring in the attacking mid.

Coach in love with the kid, owner loves American superhero and the opposite side is covered by two midfielders.

The plan was without Rafa so not sure they give him chances before they test out the players they expected going in.

Even when he was in, we struggle, the 1st dangerous occasion came from his side.

Seems like Leao to me.
He should be sold, I hope I dont see him on the field anymore. We are better without him

@pippofan the goddess from the 60's for me, was Julie Newmar.
Catwoman on Batman? Just looked her up and she's still alive at 93 but as an actress she wasn't in many movies or series, a name from the past that I haven't heard of in more than 50 years.

BTW, I loved Adam West as Batman that was basically a comedy, with the POWs and Bangs. I liked the witch in Bewitched, the genie in I dream of Jeannie, and Lynda Carter on Wonder Woman that looked like an Amazon.

Crazy they didn’t give this. I understand that the ref may not have the best view, but this is easy to spot with VAR.

I still don’t get when var intervenes and when it doesn’t. Seems random as fuck and/or corrupted

I would keep ricci. He needs to learn Amourim way. We need a cb and cam. It must happen. If bart is moved to cb then we need another lwb. This team is very powerful. Maybe if chuck is this good morriea plays lwb. Why not. I love this attacking football. I don't care if we cant beat all the other big teams. As long as we can smash the teams we should beat and at least be competitive against the others we can win the league. Gerry is a smart guy. He just trusted the wrong people. At least he learnt and now we look like we will be back to where we belong. This team if it develops well this year can make a cl run next season if we get the right 2-3 players.
The way Chuck is playing you can't bench him and for the money they spent on Moreira he has to start, so probably LWB, which would leave Salad on the bench. I think we'll do much better against the weaker teams than last season because of how we attack in droves and press relentlessly.

Inter won the scudetto by beating the teams that parked the bus while so-so with the top teams. We obviously have to be a little more conservative with the bigs and need to be more balanced in our approach.

Shit deal for Nkunku. Why always the fking loans. The other teams laughing with us.
Let me guess, Leao next with option to buy ?
I think too late to sell Leao - keep and have him compete for his spot. Sell in January

When Amorim first got the job he said that Pulisic is perfect for the LAM role and I guess when he's healthy Cisse will back him up. I don't like Salad in that role because he isnt't great in the final third and could be a jolly playing on both wings when the starters need rest or not 100%. Frankly, he hasn't been good both in the pre-season and now.

Hope that he's not regressed and just needs a little more time to adjust to the coach's tactic but he doesn't look that happy on the pitch. BTW, Cisse's goal was magnificent, showed a coolnes rare for someone his age, placed the ball between two defenders and hit the shot with precision at the far post/

The day is so much better when Milan wins, we beat Torino away while last season lost at home to Cremonese. Everyone was shocked at our starting line-up but we got the 3 points and all is good.

Juventus struggled against Frosinone, Napoli scored late goals by 2 subs, Como was outplayed by Udinese and was lucky to get a draw. Roma-Fiorentina is next, it will be interesting to watch the new and improved Viola with all the changes they made.

I think we have a good chance to win Europa if we play to our potential.

Not many strong teams this season

I think this attacking style won’t work vs inter for us

We need to go defensive vs them only but who knows. We might bury them too. Hard to say at this point.

When we played too open bs inter we lost under Bioli. Although that is Bioli so….
