The #Milan has almost chosen the area in which he will build the new #stadio : San Donato Milanese.
Decisive times, costs, viability. And for naming rights it can take advantage of the highway effect, like the Allianz Arena in Munich.
An article in the Gazzetta on newsstands in a few hours. #sandonato

@brk time to get to work for what the 3rd time?

If Maldini was sacked because of making mistakes this season then Pioli should go too.

These 6 months the game was unwatchable he made tons of mistakes he failed to beat Spezia, Cremonese, Bologna, Udinese, Fiorentina, and Sassuolo got humiliated by Lazio, they don't have a better team than us but he didn't have an idea how to beat them. He ate shit in the interview about investing too, why does he deserve to stay?

If they want revolution go sack him too.
They only wanna fire Maldini.

I love Milan players(not all) but they are acting like a spoiled children. Just call Maldini and say what you want. Pay your respect and thats it.

Leao did it best, like a grown man. Without secret masseges

Furlani made a statement to Gazetta

June 6 was the day of surprise. The world of football has realized that Milan will continue without the head of the technical area. Furthermore, which will continue with a completely new style and the last line of the press release makes it clear what the two central figures of the new course will be. Stefano Pioli, called American Coach, and Giorgio Furlani, the CEO. "First of all I want to say thank you to Paolo and Ricky and express the gratitude of all Milan collaborators for their significant contribution to the Club in recent years – says Furlani in the Gazzetta -. Paolo was among the greatest players ever and as manager, together with Ricky, he played an important role in achieving our 19 ° championship. Sorry to see them go away". Then the explanation of the decision: "In our club we constantly analyze the most suitable strategies and models to ensure that Milan can continue to progress on and off the pitch, to compete with the leading teams in Europe. The first fundamental element, I always repeat, is, and will remain, football. Precisely with this objective we have decided on an organizational reorganization that leads to the creation of a working group for the technical / sports part". In short, Milan relaunches, promises a future up to par: "Our priority now is to consolidate and strengthen the progress made in recent years, in all the members of the club. Our ambition has not changed, indeed it has strengthened: to be competitive at the top of European football. We are on track, but there is still a lot of work to be done.I hope that our wonderful fans can keep club support intact and constant, and personally I hope to be able to interact with our fans soon, so that they can understand our strategy, to continue together to see Milan grow".
This is ridicilous statement, wasnt Maldini also all in for this?Second they said top 4 is a objective, last year we won the Scudetto, this year we achieved it,the one who has put that objective in jeopardy is Pioli with his tactics and rotation against small teams in 20 games 4 wins or so…… and yet Maldini is responsibile for that Lol
And seriously who the fuck is Furlani???!!
And how are they gonna go up with top clubs when they have a salary cap,Luton town can offer higher salary to anyone
All of this wich happened is complete shit show

🗣️ Giorgio Furlani to #Gazzetta: "Stefano Pioli is gaining importance, both at Milanello, where there won't be figures like Maldini and Massara present on a daily basis, and in the transfer market. He will provide indications on his needs, like any coach, and will have more weight in the choice of profiles, the type of players to target in the market."

I mean, the best run teams get players that they'd want to have regardless of the coach--the key is that they have a style-of-play, and therefore bring in coaches that adhere to that style.

Few coaches are good enough to warrant that sort of tailoring. Frankly speaking, I don't think Pioli has done enough in his career to warrant similar treatment to Pep or Klopp.

Pioli won me over, but then brutally lost me. I'd love to see Moncada and Pioli take a big leap forward, but I fail to see how Pioli in 2023 can warrant that level of faith when he was comically terrible in 2023.
They can’t have it both ways. They showed they trusted Pioli by giving him an extension and a raise so they need to make sure they’re getting him the players he wants or at least replace the players that left with players of the same level.

They were never going to give him the treatment Klopp and Pep get and nobody is asking for that. Pep and Klopp get 100 million euro players. Pioli, by winning the Scudetto, showed that he deserves to be consulted at least. Bare minimum is to replace the players that he relied on the most who left on a free transfer. Kessie and Hakan were never replaced. Two players he relied on a lot. Instead MM threw the money we “saved” by not extending their contracts on a player that doesn’t fit Pioli’s tactics. Even you admit CDK doesn’t fit Pioli’s tactics. Is he a CF, an AM, a RW? We still don’t know.

Pioli had a winning system. Why should he change his tactics to accommodate players MM got him. It should be the other way around. You get players that can play in our current set up. Don’t fix what’s not broken.

Furlani (professionally) and subtly saying that there was little/no communication between directors and pioli on targets/tactics.

Which was clear as day when he basically boycotted the usage of every summer signing this season.

Furlan's words seems to imply that this is more about disagreement on how to run Milan in the future, rather than a displeasure over recent results.

Maldini wants to run Milan as a one-man-show, maybe not full-Galliani style, but more like where he has full authority on all sporting decisions, while Gary wants it to be more modern, corporate like and decentralized.

This could be good news (for Milan) but it all depends on how you build that new organization.

As sad as I'm for Maldini leaving, I'm looking forward to what this new Milan can become.

I just wish that they had handled this better. Not sure though on how that could've been done any different.

Maldini has to swallow his pride, for the good of Milan, and release a classy, verbal statement, "We disagreed on strategic plans, yada yada, I wish the new management the best. Forza Milan" to defuse the situation.

So the plan is clear. Give power to Pioli when it comes to mercato. He will choose new players. No more situations like Adli?

Pioli might gain more control over the transfer decisions but less over the locker room.

Wow! I come back to the forums only to hear that Maldini is fired? Seriously?

Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Trying to be objective about this but I can't say I have enough information about the reasons behind the decision to do this.

Having said that, the optics don't look good on the club for now. Reading the official statement on the website: "His day-to-day duties will be performed by a team working in close integration with the first team manager, ultimately reporting to the CEO." If this becomes a permanent management structure, it would seem to lay credence to some of the statements that Maldini supposedly wanted more independence. It could further imply, supported by some reports, that Pioli supposedly didn't get the players he wanted/needed because Maldini was allegedly being independent.

It's never good when the optics play out as the owner picking the coach over a club icon. Pressure on Pioli now. The obvious fallout of this decision is how the players will take it. Yes, they are professionals but still human. When all is said and done, Maldini, Pioli, and the players, are all employees - nothing is guaranteed and you have to follow the directives of the employers.

Milan and Maldini should always be together but life happens. "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" Hopefully, Milan can move forward and Maldini can take this on the chest and move on to greater things as well. It'll be interesting to see how Maldini chooses to react to this, especially publicly.

Sigh...

Seems like closer to EPL model where coaches generally have a lot of say
