Give me Icardi on loan and spend all available money on a RW.
I don't like his wife and all the drama surrounding him ,but Icardi is quality striker .Wouldn't mind him on loan or buying for cheap.

Lol I'm telling you now that Maldini is going to blow 30m on redeeming Diaz + Vranckx.

Bookmark this post.
I think Diaz is good as gone but Baldanzi doesn't excite me at all, Vranckx given also the injury of Bennacer i think he stays, Pobega and Vranckx definitely are gonna stay, maybe Adli will go on loan

I feel like our issues are so much more dire in the attack than anywhere else, I honestly think that CB is one of our lowest priorities to other position groups.

Kalulu has had a nightmare 2023, but that doesn't mean he is irredeemable.

I think our anemic attack has been the biggest impediment to our season, due to tactics and personnel.
That's true, I've been saying for years that our lack of creativity has been our biggest problems, but you just can't pass on such opportunities. Ndicka is asking for 2.5 m, not 8 m. Worst case is he flops and we sell him for pocket money but still make a profit...

Fair, but they also sell players, something we have been struggling with since Suso/Cutrone's departure.
Who should we sell? The squad is still being built up.

Kessie, Hakan, and Donna didn't want to be sold. Like many other players around the world, from Alaba to Messi, from Pogba to Lewa (to Bayern), and on and on, they left for financial reasons.

Everyone said the big test was going to be Theo then Ben, and now Leao to determine what the ambition of the club was. Now what?

But we also aren't filling the hole of RW instead we've let a stop-gap Messias and raw Salad deputize (though he's done a decent job and have shown improvement). And in the last two seasons we've introduced two new holes in AM and DM.
RW is one of the rarest spots to fill, only strikers are rarer than them, to be fair. Real use Rodrygo there even though he's right footed. Which makes me wonder why we don't just do the same? Why don't more teams do that?

Obviously Ludovic Blas is the correct answer, or even playing Brahim there, but even teams with money are struggling to get RWs. Chelsea, Man Utd, etc are constantly looking and paying huge premiums like 100m on Antony, or the 75m for Sancho, or 45m for Pulisic, and on and on.

I'm sorry, Adli was one of the best AM prospects in Europe last year, the data underlined that as did his performances in the biggest games. Pioli has given him 140 minutes. That's a hole dug by Pioli.

Vranckx and Pobega could've helped more. Maybe letting them play after a good performance would help them? Just maybe, especially since playing someone when they're in-form makes more sense, but maybe I'm crazy?

Bennacer being hurt means we need another serious CM, though. If Vranckx isn't redeemed (or swapped for Rebic) then another DM needs to be brought in. Seko Fofana isn't leaving Lens, unfortunately, though his midfield partner Salis is an underrated gem.

I look at the AM and DM holes as more on Pioli, while I wanted the CDK money to be spent on a RW. Like Ludovic Blas.

Did I mention Ludovic Blas?

That's what i think they'll do not what i want. If i was in charge i would try everything to sell CDK in England, leave Diaz to Real and Baldanzi to Empoli. I would only buy players that are at least 1.80 or more, i'm tired to pray on every corner against us and to be resigned on every corner that we take. Sometimes it takes a header to beat Empoli and Cremonese. I lost the count of how many games Inter won this way

Midfield. For me is really not up to scratch. Players can't complete 5 passes to keep possession.

I know it's easy to say now but i would have sold Bennacer in summer and spend the money on Sergej, he would have been a perfect fit for us

Panache brought up that he can play LB which makes him even more enticing. Being able to rest Theo just a little more would be huge, especially when Pioli's fitness staff haven't heard of stretching or advil.

But maybe he looks at Roma and sees a path towards more guaranteed play time?

Our attack has disgusted me this year, truly. They lose possession nearly every time they get the ball which provides near-constant transitions for our opponents, no midfield or defense will look good against that, especially when you commit four players to the attack.

Apparently, there are many people here who know "tactics" and "ideas" and "plans" that can work irrespective of the players we have at our disposal. They probably know how to create "tactics" that produce tons of goals using the likes of Rebic, Origi, and Messias. They also have "ideas" for how to train kids like CDK so that they can turn into new Kakas. Can't we simply hire one of these folks. I bet they will not request big money for the job.

Lol I agree with you except you're wrong about Baldanzi...he's Dybala's heir and has the potential to be a future top player.

Giroud regressed a lot apart from scoring just 1 goal in 15 games but he just loses every ball, Dzeko on the other side always won the duels

I never really bought into the "big test" thing. If the money makes sense and the experience here aligns with the current spot in their career, they will renew.

So squad is still being built up with no player really valuable enough to sell bc we don't plan on upgrading, while introducing new holes (more on this).

Again, we can disagree, but to me this solidifies my vision on daplan.
RW is one of the rarest spots to fill, only strikers are rarer than them, to be fair. Real use Rodrygo there even though he's right footed. Which makes me wonder why we don't just do the same? Why don't more teams do that?

That's fair. But if you are telling me a RW is too expensive, then we needed to spend more to upgrade our other attacking roles namely AM and CF, which we also haven't.
I'm sorry, Adli was one of the best AM prospects in Europe last year, the data underlined that as did his performances in the biggest games. Pioli has given him 140 minutes. That's a hole dug by Pioli.

I agree in spirt but I gotta counsel:

Not that you are crazy, but maybe they won't make a difference and if they played and we lost points a different set of people would be screaming for Pioli's head for throwing them to the wolves. With these things we can only speculate, I respect your version as one of the possibilities but can also see the reasoning for the other.

Even if Bennacer didn't get injured, we needed another starting level midfielder when Bakayoko fucks off.

If we sign Kamada, I'd say that may be the sign of our management shifting from "unproven wonderkid by vulture" scouting to "undervalued performers by Samaldinho" scouting. :proud:

So in my season, I got Napoli to trigger his 50m buy out clause when I labeled him as "transfer listed for reasonable fee"

Giroud his entire time here has been abysmal outside of the big goals. His play as a big striker holding up play never materialized.

I think an Arsenal or some top of the table team would have bought bennacer for 30 35 million maybe 40, remember that he wasn't a starter during the magic run of the last 5 games last season, he never started in those 5 games, then you take those 30 million + 15-20 million and you go to Lotito for Sergej, his contract ends in 2024 that is a reasonable price

A lot of work to be done. Striker and RW are essential. Our dead attack who can't score, waiting for Leao magic. Colombo or Nasti should come back from loan.I think Nasti is more talented ,but Colombo is two years older and deserve to get the chance. Then sign starting CF. For RW i like Zhegrova i have watched him this season, and he have what lacks to our RW's directness and dribbling. Kessie and Hakan replacement should be found. Thiaw must be a starter ,boy is talented and have aerial presence. Kalulu should be RB only, enough with CB position for him. Make Maignan or Theo capitano.
Theo is not captain material. I'd nearly give it to Tonali if the captaincy was to change.

yea, that smells like poo poo.

they want to build a young team. so keep the guy who clearly isn't fully in phase with that and replace those who are?
and they watched Pioli's team play and thought "that's neat, we see what he's trying to do here"...even himself doesn't know what he's trying to do.

if anything, Pioli, in his current, form is a hindrance to successfully building a young young team.
a lot of these players are in their formative years, years that will define their careers. and we risk destroying most of them with Pioli...some will have the luck to go elsewhere and rebuild, others won't.

he "improved" Theo, Rafa and few others...those are super athletes who can take on players...so he pretty much gave em freedom to use their superpowers.
he said his mission this season was to make Isma take the next step. watching Isma of past, he had a good balance of Passing and dribbling. looking at Isma now, it seems obvious to me that he is tasked to dribble more.

could be a blessing in disguise that he hasn't liked Adli. he'd try to mold him into a dribbler while trying to suppress his superpower (passing, vision).
i personally don't rate CDK, but i'm sure he's talented enough to be efficient in a correct system where not only dribbling counts for offensive player.

anyway, another year with Pioli will flush down the toilet most of those youth investments. some of which are really talented and just need to be properly exploited.

Giroud’s post match reactions did get me a bit.

Love the passion he shows for Milan, I think it’s even more than any other player I’ve seen this season.

It’s why I’ll always be happy that someone like him played at our club and I’ll forever be grateful for the big goals he scored to win us the Scudetto last season.

I also think Pioli put him in a tough spot by constantly overplaying him, running him to the ground and it didn’t help that Rebic/Origi were so disappointing. The management didn’t help him with the Origi signing.

His role when he came on was to be a super sub, he was never meant to be a first team player.

He also a guy that relies on service and a system to perform, that’s why in 2022 he could perform, it was one of his best years of his career and he did well for us. The system broke in 2023 and it made many of our players worse, especially Giroud who is meant to be a poacher, a striker who needs service and he gets none at this club.

I’m not stupid and I’m not that sentimental to want him to play as a first team player at the expense of the club, I know we need to get a proper CF next season so he can take a step back and be our super sub for the next season. That’s the role I want him to play next season.

But with that said, I’ll always like and respect Olivier Giroud. The guy won it all in other clubs, including a WC and a CL title. But the passion and admiration he shows to Milan is something I can really admire. He loves this fucking club. 🫡
People who liked this post are a bunch of idiots.

Not sure which team I should root for to win the CL final. I like Don Carlo but Real winning means I may not see Milan catching up to them during my lifetime. Definitely not supporting Inter, not even a question. Man City would not be bad but I won't be able to stand the English commentators for years to come plus it would show money $$>tradition - although this could inspire our owners to spend a little more.
You must be -50 years old to think you could witness Milan catching Real in CL trophies.

SMS is a good idea if we want to continue with this cave man attacking tactics of Pioli, but I want to move away from that, personally.
OR hear me out:

You give Pioli a couple more players capable of caveman attacking tactics so if we were to brute force, at the very least we'd have more weapons than just the left hook and left upper cut.

305be961-eef3-4f23-9e66-c4b27c507a8f_text.gif

You see if that's good enough to get you back into top 4, while maintaining a decent run in EL gaining our young players valuable competitive experience. And if it is, then you get to parlay in the mer-kah-toe and wheel and deal a bit more and you see if you can ride it out until the end of his contract while accumulating a couple more assets via wheel and dealin + player development. Then you see if you can upgrade with a bigger profile guy.

Of course, Pioli could also implode and break more embarassing records in Europa league and we'd be set back again and will have to accept another season of EL as a silver lining and repeat this process with new guy. This is definitely the cheaper way to go about it though, so it really depends on how risk averse our management is going to choose to be. But I am going to be real, if I am already leaning towards being risk averse, de Zerbi screams like a banter era move if we aren't going to step up the funds to give him some upgrades.

Some other questions:
- What if this new manager is just another Pioli? Another "stop-gap" if we have higher ambition, but like a pawn has a path of earning his way to becoming a queen, only to realize their limitations later like Pioli.

- What will make a risk-averse style ownership say we will go with a new guy and give him MORE money when we've been cutting money for a guy who's proved he can perform in the past (fairly reliably as well) ?
