The attack's inability to pass, possess the ball, and just keep it in circulation astounds me. Unless Leao, Brahim, Mes/Sal, beats their man/men on the dribble, they don't seem to know what to do.
And as our team pushes forward to support them, they (the attack) more often than not, lose the ball, putting us in transition. Worse yet, our attack is so poor at even maintaining possession that we are manufacturing counters for the opposition.
Leao is sloppy with his mid and short range passing, while his crossing and long play making passes are actually underrated aspects to his game. Giroud, Brahim, Sales, Mess, are all very bad at passing and maintaining possession.
If only we had someone who could play that passing, fulcrum role in attack. Someone who consistently makes himself available to receive the ball, to turn and make the right pass. A creative passer to put all our on-rushing attackers into space, yknow?
I hope Maldini and Moncada can find someone, because boy, Pioli really suffered not having a player like that in his squad this year.
