He's not bad. At 22m? Honestly, it really depends on what our budget is. If we are in for another 50m market, which would be insulting, then I can see myself sharpening my pitchfork.

If we had a 100m budget, then 20m doesn't set me off.
He's settled in the squad, we know he can perform... sometimes. And he's improving, perhaps he takes another big jump and adds some more creatine to his shakes while training with the other former Soviet lower weight wrestlers. There is a lot of value in knowing what a player can do versus the potential loot box world of transfers.

But, even then, if I was in charge, and I'm not joking, I would rather get Blas at like 12m and Orsolini at 12m as well. Blas can play several positions, including CAM, while Orsolini is at the same level as Politano. They're both in the last year of their contracts, while Blas has been a captain for his team.

I have no idea what budget we have, how Redbird are going to react, etc. So I guess I have no reference point as to what my expectations should be.
You need to visit your homeland more, living in American has made you very wasteful. 20m is a lot for Brahim, even if we have 200m available to us.

Quite simply because his biggest tools is his "big moments" where he does peel off and can score. Until this day, Brahim has not consistently learned to deal with his vertical challengedness. You know how when a fighter is short he knows jabbing won't really work against a longer reached fighter so they come up with other game plans? Yea Brahim hasn't done that. His answer to try to beat his man is based on pace and determination. If the ref has been lenient, he's absolutely useless as he is easily mowed down time after time while he's on the ground eye-fucking the ref for a call. Look at Saladinho when he first came and his dribbling vs. now. Brahim doesn't even have that close-control or dribbling to bail himself out, not as consistent as Salad. All of this is with the additional drawback of the bad tendency of not looking up and absolute shit passer. We haven't really seen any improvement in any of these skill sets, rather he's just more determined and has came up in big moments.

For me, I am hoping for the slim chances they'd let him go on another loan in hopes of selling him to us for more (maybe put in a 30m clause or some shit) because honestly the lack of improvement in skills to be able to consistently contribute is rather alarming for me  Use him while we try to find better players. But if we must spend money, I am thinking 12-15m range and no more than that.

With Giroud as our starter number 9 i don't care if we have De Bruyne and Rodrygo, we can't play with Giroud next year. Berardi is so mediocre, we deserve better
I don't want him as a starter either and hope we can find a better solution

Let's sign Brahim and loan it to Madrid for a season or two. See how they like it

I remember tuning into the last 15 mins and we were down 3-0 the players looked helpless and Depor rounded out the match with the 4th .. it was tragic and in some ways worse than Istanbul

In conclusion:

1. Deportivo cheated and were doping!

2. Pirlo and the players fault for thinking the job was done

3. Ancelotti blameless for the defeat

Facts :o

Brahim was tested at RW last season and was fucking horrible. He’s shown some promise there this season and should continue being tried there but its simply not true this idea that it’s so obvious to play him there
Thank you. He’s played like 4-5 games at RW max? Too small a sample size to draw any conclusions from.

Frattesi for a similarly structured deal as Locatelli (35m paid over 3 years) seems financially feasible.

But would he really be a good solution for that position?
I don’t rate Frattesi. He’s very mediocre. Jack of all trades master of none.

Exactly, seems like another Tonali like profile.

We need a leader in the midfield.

Real Madrid wants 30m for Diaz.

Management can't afford to get sentimental over Diaz. 15m+ bonuses or return him to Real. There's no market above 20m currently for the player.
Only way Diaz deserve to stay if he was 5-10mil AM or RW sub & we sell Messias & Sale.
Adding him to both us just growing a pile of shit.

but wait... apparently we do have the money

...yet we keep dumpster diving and ponder whether to get a player now or next year to save some money:proud:

Maybe if we stopped pretending Coppa Italia didn’t matter and got the extra 10-12m for winning, maybe we could afford more signings :o

Wait, so the whole option to buy at 22m and Madrid option to buy back at 27m is all bullshit?

Dude..
Then you can't blame Pioli for the derby defeats.
Carlo has to take the blame for Deportivo and PSV (we scraped through at the end). We got outplayed in those games despite having an infinitely better team.
I don't blame him for Istanbul though - that was pure bad luck with the Sheva and Tomasson misses.

I’m trolling a bit

Pioli clearly is fond of Brahim and thinks he's capable of moments to change games. I am okay with that assessment and think he could have his uses as a super-sub.
Ok , super-sub for who ?
We dont even have a RW nor AM.

I just came back, they told me I've gotten soft. Damn, this confirms it. I didn't walk out the market immediately, I met them... halfway on price.

I have been one of Brahim's biggest critics, and I want to get rid of him and put that money into others and trust Adli. I hate what playing Brahim does to our style of play. I hate how he encourages the worst instincts in Pioli.

But I can't pretend he hasn't improved this year, that's where I have to disagree. Even his passing, which still sucks, but I've seen a drastic improvement from last year. Of course, an improvement from dogshit to shit isn't great, so believe me, I get it. I wish he showed this improvement last year, giving us the 22/23 season to see what he can do.

If (one of the biggest "ifs" ever) Brahim can take another leap in quality, particularly in his passing, he... he could be a devastating player. That depends on him learning to pass, and not just glamor passes, the sort of meat-and-potatoes passes that open up space, make a team tick, and create opportunities. It is a massive gamble, but I don't... I dunno. I don't hate it.

I think the other reason I'm not losing my mind over Brahim being bought is the allure of him being a RW while we rely on more of a midfielder type at CAM. He looks... markedly better there, like... a huge jump from his previous attempts (as Balo45 pointed out) which I think points to his growth. As a RW option... I'm much calmer about things.

If we're at 50m for this summer, then even 15m is unacceptable. Only an extended loan formula would calm me down (and perhaps the fear of Brahim turning up and making me look stupid)--but for me, it all depends on our budget.

I fixate on our attack being the problem, but the strength of the rumors linking us to Kamada gives me hope that they see what needs to be done, while also... oddly enough... making me even more annoyed with what Pioli has done with Adli.

I’ve seen CDK operate on the left, in the middle, and on the right. Shockingly, he sucks wherever he is on the pitch.

Constructive, tell me more please x

I don't have anything against Brahim and he's really likeable guy...but the thought of seeing him as CAM again next season makes me sick. :head:

I'm not saying he wouldn't be useful as a backup player, but I don't think we're in a situation to spend 25 million on such players. We have a lot of other priorities and we need quality players, which of course cost money.
