Lots of fair observations there are several reasons for this season going off the rails.
On one hand a good season regarding the CL run but too many dropped points in Serie A.

Squad depth, misuse of players and tactical choices all contributed to the season going a little south for Milan.

MMM need to move on the players who have simply not worked. Some players need a real chance and to be reevaluated. Milan do need much better squad depth where the secondary players actually maintain the form of the team when starters are rested.

And Pioli needs to use all the players available to him but by playing them to their strengths. I think Pioli is a good coach but can be better if he can have greater flexibility regarding the players roles and his tactical choices against different opponents. Sometimes he nails it and other times his choices are baffling or just stubborn.

This season I think/hope has been a key learning experience for several people at Milan across the board. The summer market will demonstrate if they have realised the errors of this season and what measures they will take to amend them.

First and foremost Milan have to secure (comfortably) Champions League football.

Forza Milan ⭐⭐❤️🖤🏆
Great post

Asensio this season missed only 3 games due to muscles injury.
He missed additional four games due to covid & knocks.
Last season he missed only two games.
Actually not bad & i expected it to be worse.

A lot of what you say is true but let me add on to my point.

Major difference between this season and last is going far in Europe. And you simply can’t downplay the World Cup mid season. It’s never happened like that before, and it’s not even about the players that did or didn’t go to the World Cup. It’s about the fact that we played every three days for almost half the season.

I do not think it’s a coincidence that going into January we were only five points off Napoli, before farigue(and yes tactical issues) really kicked in. I mean look at it this way, whenever Pioli rotated the team we dropped points. And the flip side of that is that when he doesn’t rotate the team as much he’d like, the starters play more than they should and the performances dip. Our identity missing last season? Well yeah…our identity is a pressing side that’s good in transition. How can the players do that when they’re dead? How can they press aggressively, track runners(major defensive problem this season) and then bomb forward to join the attack with numbers? It’s impossible.

I just really really think our squad is getting not talked about enough as maybe the main reason this season has gone to shit. It’s not the ONLY reason, but it’s a huge one. And since you said our team wasn’t that deep last season…again we didn’t play on multiple fronts for the second half of last season. Which is coincidentally when we grabbed first and didn’t look back.

I firmly believe that say, if we got knocked out in the group or maybe lost to Spurs, we’d be about three or four games better off in the table. I would bet serious money on that actually. I do hope this season is a wake up call on multiple fronts. I hope management sees the potential of the team, scudetto last season and last 4 of CL this season, and what they can do with a deeper team. And I hope at the same time Pioli realizes what it really takes to manage a top team with these expectations, and how to keep the energy up/what to do when fatigue kicks in. I do really believe a few signings can ramp things right back up.

I can see your points and I agree that playing the world cup in-between is a huge abnormality that seems to have hit every team in Serie A seeing how everyone besides Napoli struggled to get two steps straight ever since afterwards. I can also see your point that the deep run in CL wasn't expected and our squad not built to sustain that. Those are good points.

But damn, there have been so many ridicolously bad calls this year concerning lineups, tactical decisions and poorly executed rotations on repeat too. Up until the point where the way Pioli dealt with the two Euroderbies it even almost broke you in the match thread iirc

I still think Pioli hold too firm on his core players and didn't do a good job at integrating the new arrivals into the team. I don't see the greater picture like I could see it in the past with young players like for example Kalulu. Some get barely minutes and when they get some, the slightest mistake will kiss any new chances goodbye for many months. Others on the other hand get minutes while repeatedly failing, up to a point where it just becomes brutal and the best protection would be to not play that kid at all so he can bounce back next season. There's a randomness I can't explain.

In the past Pioli always struck me as a very inventive coach who constantly found new solutions to whatever problem you threw at him. A problem solver. That make me fall in love with his coaching style. But this year? More often than not he looks lost and out of ideas. That's where I begin to think that he has given all he could, and it was a heck of a ride, but maybe it's time to pass the torch to someone who can take up from here and grow the team to new heights.

I'm not sure if Pioli still can evolve and be that coach for us or if we've reached the end of the line. We'll learn next season, one way or another.

Messi scored 60-80 goals / during his prime what are u talking about
In la liga though. Prime vs prime, not much of a difference in quality. Different positions.

positivity force won't get away with shitting on padre now:o

and i know this club. baldie is our best bet right now, because there's no way this club will go for a proven winner or pay release clauses.
that’s not da milan.

Who says only a proven winner can take this team to the next level? Pioli was considered a notorious bottler before arriving here and evolving a tremendously young team into Serie A Champions.

Didn't Carlo fail at Juve before winning two CL titles with Milan? Weren't people laughing at Silvio for giving the reigns to Sacchi before Sacchi revolutionized modern football? What did Allegri win before winning the title with Milan?

All it takes is the right person at the right time. Our own history is the biggest proof of that.

Kessie tonali bennacer

That is the reason we are suffering. I have the prick but he was important.

Hakan too. Brahim isn't physical. Hakan plays physical and its not easy to push him off the ball.

Plus dalot was good.

Our scudetto team was very good. Still fuming.

We need more physical players who are just as technically adept. Don't need to be a iniesta. Like a sms type would be perfect.

i mean sure… or it ends like with inzaghi, montella, gattuso, giampaolo.

allegri won coach of the year at cagliari.
carlo and sacchi were bets that paid off although carlo underachieved with arguably the best team in europe at that time.

but berlu would have had no problem firing them if it didn't work out tho.

so going by our own history you guys expect this stingy ownership to fire a coach after several top 4 finishes, scudetto and CL sf for an unknown shitter hoping he will take the team to the next level?

most of the time you gamble on an unproven coach being the next sacchi, you are more likely to get a giampaolo.

It's amazing how so many professional coaches have suggested this, including his former coaches, but only Pioli and RnB think it's a stupid idea.
CDK loves to run into the open space behind the defenders, he used to do this all of the time in Brugge. This shows padre never watched any game of him before we bought him, as there were plenty of opportunities this season to play him there

If they really offered €25m it means the salary will not be a problem they never make offers if arent sure about the salary.
If they've actually made an offer, that means they've talked with SMS, and he told them to try.
The only thing is to see if Merda can sell their players before we can get this deal across the line.

Or we could just beat Ladri and ensure that we're in the UCL this Sunday, so that we can start spending for the summer.

dude would easily start at rb and could back up lb to let theo rest against scrubs
early days dalot was ass while on loan here but he picked it up after a while and he's only been getting better since, would struggle to name more than a couple rbs that would be better than him in the league

Roger Federer is the GOAT
Fucking Fatboy cost us 2 Cls

Sure but you can also argue him winning 2007 with a decrepit old squad was overachieving.

So he gave it back

I love Carlo. But there's no way he's blameless for Deportivo after going up 4-1
NONE of the other managers in contention for GOAT would allow that kind of lead to get blown.
He's improved a lot since Deportivo/Istanbul...but he still has tendencies to fall asleep at the wheel.

I was joking

I wasn’t serious about it.

He’s to be blamed for some of these chokefests I know
