I don't think the issue is that Maldini says let's buy player X and Cardinale replies nah Y is better, if there is a disagreement is about the kind of players that they want, i think Cardinale wants to continue with the youngsters while Maldini wants more experienced older players

Not sure if it's about youth or experience. Remember last summer during Maldinis contract negotiations when we've heared rumors about Furlani reaching to Dybalas entourage to explore the feasibility of a transfer - and that Maldini felt undermined, nearly causing him to walk away? Maldini then went in to pay a premium few on a unexperiekced young player in one of Europes minor leagues.

And last winter? It was rumored that Redbird would have given the green light to go after Ziyech while Maldini and Massara were strongly advocating for Zaniolo. We've ended up with neither one of them since neither side was willing to let go.

In fact, those two examples would rather suggest that Maldini is more into youth than Redbird. Or... Maybe it's just coincidence. But for now nothing hints at the frictions being about youth or experience but rather about how much to spend. Dybala and Ziyech would have been cheaper than CDK and Zaniolo (rumored at >20M), so I guess Redbird is still looking for the cheaper way while Maldini wants to invest.

Now if you asked folks here, I guess majority would actually have rooted for Redbirds targets, especially in hindsight. Spending money is right, but not on targets like CDK and Zaniolo IMO. I don't know man. I only know that if there's no harmony in the general direction of the club, it's better for all to part ways. We've seen how Galliani and Barbara stalled the club for years, and we've apparently seen how Maldini and Redbird did the same last season. We need clarity and we need it now. Otherwise buckle up for another bumpy ride.

And yeah, in the past, when I said Gerry is building towards Moncada technical director - or at least SD -, I wasn't joking, even if it may have come across like that. I truly think that's an option on the table as long as the rumors about Moncada being close to renew still have legs.

Kalulu last season was better than thiaw this season. Don’t forget how insane he and tomori were at the end of the season, eating Osimhen alive amongst others. Kalulu was amazing at everything except aerial stuff.

I probably wouldn’t disagree if you said thiaw had a higher ceiling, just based on his physical traits and his passing on top of that. But we need to see more of both before deciding something like this.

I am not dissing Kalu.
Thiaw is having his first season & seems to have more natural skills.
Am happy to have both.
Lets cement Kalu as a RB.

Do you know what, Maldini has made mistakes for sure, last year's mercato was a disaster.

Which is funny because blame goes three ways.

Gerry: Didn't fund last summer enough, nothing in winter. How can the team operate without resources?
Maldini and Massara: Spent most of the budget on one player who didn't succeed, had far more misses than hits last summer.
Pioli: Was clueless for most of the year, didn't utilize players properly, and in the case of big signing CDK seemingly mismanaged the shit out of him.

If Maldini is at risk, why isn't Pioli? How can you have full confidence in one piece who made mistakes, and not the other? Both are at fault.
