Wait wtf is going on? Maldini sacked is what I wake up to? Jeez how stupid can this club be. Just when you can relax a bit and something is going well some new shit pops up and you immediately get new anxiety because you have no control over the situation

As told yesterday live and on @cmdotcom , the relationship between Pioli and Maldini had cracked a bit in the last period with different visions. The bad defeats in the derbies had marked the first crack in a relationship of great mutual respect and trust - Longo

you mean to tell me Maldini wanted to fire Pioli? 😭
both were clearly on bad terms as the season progressed, with maldini upset over the integration of the youngsters, adapting lately to 3atb during january, and the only unclear thing is if it was pioli's idea to go all in on cl while neglecting the league or the other way around- good luck that turned out fine with top 4 otherwise the uproar and calling for heads here would be way more divisive here

pioli however was upset during the summer transfers and thought he deserved more, also probably wasn't consulted on transfers. stuck to his guns with the scudetto squad while not giving the time of day to the newbies, cdk was the exception (and only so because of his price tag and as a gesture to maldini- if it were up to him we wouldn't have seen the pitch for more than 2-3 games)

who's more correct? only time will tell

RLC tune is now changing back to Moncada brilliance I see.

I'm sure having his meeting canceled today with Maldini will do wonders for Moncada's first impression and our negotiations of bringing him here.

They should teach these techniques in business school.
Let me tell you

I'll take the Clownshow School of Business

over lining up with Arnautovic, Brahim, and Berardi next season

He's not a likeable guy, decisions can be accepted and tolerated from people with some charm and charisma... Till you simply can't accept the decisions any more, regardless of how much you like someone.

I don't like gerry, those supporting this move, if the wheels come off, are you still going to support him for a bit because he's a "good guy"?

Or will you turn on him as quickly as you did Paolo.

Im into #daplan in a way, as I always knew this was a process, a project, that needed patience, understanding and money... This is a fucking set back no matter what way you look at it.

This year's failures DO NOT solely rest at Maldini's feet. From Gerry fucking about with his take over, to Pioli and his butchers, Maldini's chasing of Sanchez and Monconda championing CDK... They all fucked up, yet Gerry, the owner is exempt from blame.

To me he gave the keys to his car to folk he didn't know, and didn't know they couldn't drive,. He then wondered where his car went and why it was a write off... But the police and insurance were cool with his actions because it was nice he could afford the expensive car in the first place?

Oh and he only charged some of the folk involved and got the police to throw the book at the others.... It's fucking ridiculous to just blame Maldini in all this lol, fuck, like seriously?!
Is Maldini the fall guy for last season or is it a case of Maldini wanting money for this season and not being able to continue his work properly without it

Jesus Christ. How did Paolo fuck up?
With him, we won a scudetto. Was that ever the aim? NO!
Then this season - I don't think we demanded another scudetto. The expectation would've been to finish top 2 though, but given that we had such a strong CL run, you'd accept finishing in the top 4 if you get that CL run.

Admittedly, we haven't progressed as much or as quickly as previous seasons but we've kept a core of players and are growing on this path. Had we been offered this and had the management been offered this then they would've snapped your hand off.
shall I create a “how maldini the technical director got himself fired“ thread?

you all can argue the way it happened but you can’t argue Maldini talking too much shit, not delivering top results and, I’ll admit it, without the Juve points deduction and us missing out on the CL, would have 1000000% been fired by other clubs.

you have to ask yourself this. If it wasn’t Maldini, would all of the actions and results in the last year gotten a technical director fired

1000000% yes no question about it

it’s the club history and relationship that’s making this a tough situation

I’ll give you that. But that’s all.

He is bringing in Billy fucking Beane.

From Moneyball.

This is the brilliant Redbird. Who can't find a piece of land to build a fucking stadium.
I wouldn't take that seriously. I think this is just journalistic overreach. He's on the board of a few RedBird companies, and I think they have a shared venture or two. They're just connecting dots, but I highly doubt he's taking any actual role at Milan beyond maybe something advisory.

This is all Zelus + Moncada now, and turning Milan into the top of the RedBird pyramid with Toulouse as the first satellite.

I'm still unsure how I feel about this. I'm shocked at how Maldini was discarded, and it seems like it was on the cards for a while based on the rumors and possibly the fact that Furlani wasn't in the Leao contract photos. I don't think he was blindsided. Maybe it wasn't decided back but there was probably some sort signal that maybe after the season their future (MM) will be evaluated. No sane owner of a billion+ asset takes decisions like that without it being planned. It happened the day after the season break. I don't think it was an emotional decision.

The key issue right now is the squad and how they will react. Was Leao under the impression that Maldini is staying long term? Or did he know there was a chance this was going to happen and was trying to influence the decision with his photo that time. If this was a shock to the team then yeah it's fucked. That's really all that matters right now, how to handle this transition and make sure that there's no mutiny and feelings of broken promises.

We cannot point the finger at a £35 mil transfer in this day and age that on the surface looked like a good investment. I mean it just shows u how little we have to work with

Something else to consider...

"Among the greatest unknowns deriving from the farewell of Maldini and Massara is certainly the reaction of the dressing room, and a tweet at around half past midnight by Leao – a simple puzzled emoji – speaks volumes."

We need clarity on the situation with our stars... We had a family atmosphere, it was one of the things keeping this team together, how is this going to affect the squad from a human point of view.

Remember, a lot of these guys accepted lower wages than what they could have gotten in the EPL, to stay and be part of something here in Milan.

That’s not what happened here, Sam

he’s almost obligated to fire him for the dumb shit maldini tried to pull

Look at you… believing the worst about party A and best about party B

you do see the bias in you, don’t you?
With respect, I see you overcompensating to justify poor business decisions as you try to find the silver linings whilst trying to imply I am the only person capable of holding bias in this situation.

When I saw good in Redbird, I was supportive.

However, what is happening right now is alarming.

U make a good point but I still think we are back at money, the owners are the real problem here. For me a little bit Maldini and a fair bit Pioli too. Should Maldini be fired? No I’d rather back him with money

"And in the meantime Ibrahimovic dreams of Milan as a manager" writes the Corriere dello Sport . Zlatan Ibrahimovic bid farewell to football with a coup de theatre. And the future? "Being a coach or director is a great responsibility. When you're a footballer you have more chances to be yourself, as a coach you're more limited. I can't come to Ferrari as a coach, or maybe Ibra can" said the Swede. There are those who hypothesize a return to Milan as a manager. "Zlatan's idea is to take some time to decide, maybe the summer, and then he could come back in a different guise," writes the newspaper.

Bring zlatan as a director, that will make up

Blame can be dealt to lots of areas in the club...

Things will come out in the wash, but this isn't the sort of start to the summer I was expecting.

An autopsy was needed for seasons failures, but it's like an issue was identified and they just chopped the area in question off, didn't find a real cause and want the family to be cool with no real answers...

I think we're in SAFE hands with Moncada...don't forget that he helped Monaco to sign Fabinho, Martial, Kondogbia, Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva, Lemar + Mendy in addition to securing Maignan, Tomori, Kalulu, Theo, Bennacer, Adli, Leao, Djalo + Kerkez for us plus he also had deals wrapped up for both Muani + Enzo and strongly recommended Kvara + Alvarez to M&M.

No need to shit the bed 💩💩💩

Now I'm getting all these Succession gifs or recent days

Pioli even went out saying this team needs to be strengthened. Surprisingly enough, journalist reported that Redbird was very pleased with the way Pioli made that statement, remember? While when Maldini said the same a week before, the rumor was "Redbird didn't like Maldinis statements."

In hindsight it seems Pioli was talking more about Maldinis mercato than Redbirds visions. It would explain the minimal usage of Maldinis players. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if Pioli knew about Maldini being sacked soon since weeks.

@brk must hate Pioli so much. From his favourite coach to his most hated.

I also think Pioli was making digs at Maldini

No. I wouldn't have fired Maldini for where we stand today. We have a Scudetto, a CL semi final and we are in the CL next season. I don't care about the Juve point deduction. You say we wouldn't be in the UCL if that didn't happen. I'd say that's BS. We don't know what would've happened. They might not have won as many while they had the first points deduction, and we could've done better had they not got it. Regardless we are in the UCL. I'm not playing ifs and maybes.

Now answer this. What did you expect? What should we have achieved?
Is finishing second worth much more? Should we really be getting to a CL final this quickly? Napoli steamrolled the league. Be serious.

First part

you would let an employee publicly criticize you repeatedly after stumbling your way to an asterisk ridden top 4 spot?

if it wasn’t Maldini, you would boot them out quickly.

What I expected Is a strong showing for 2nd place outright and we should have reached the CL final. We were played off the pitch and that was due to how the team was constructed along with Pioli’s tactics. I was there. Someone was going down for that shit show of a match

I don’t know what to tell you if you disagree with the 1st part. if the name wasn’t maldini, it’s 100% sack 100% of the time
