The fact that some of the players have already started revolting and posting questionable messages i.e. Adli, Maignan + Leao just solidifies what I said before Paolo got fired. Maldini was the GLUE that held everything together at Milan and deep down the players looked up to and followed him NOT Pioli (ditto for Ibra).

Now that these 2 key figures have departed, watch the fire sale begin and results start to crumble as the self-belief and good fortune this team displayed over the past few seasons simply didn’t EXIST pre-Maldini + Ibra hence the slew of midtable finishes.

However, the good news is that Pioli will be out of a job this time next year and we’ll finally get a decent manager.

No they are not. Are they mad? Maybe a couple of them. Are they going to get over it? yes, they already have.
They're grown men, paid millions to represent one of the biggest clubs in footballing history. They're in the CL and the squad will be reinforced. The coach that they all apparently love (Leao loves Pioli, no idea why) remains for them.

The only way players start requesting an out is if by midseason we're absolute dogshit. Is that possible? Of course. Likely? no.

We're going to be a good team. Better than last season, because the coach will get the types he players HE wants, that have been hand selected based on incredible scouting by one of the best in the game.

Elliot was supposed to strip the team for parts. Selling players and facilities to pay off their debt. That didn't happen. In fact, they invested more money into the club, covering losses and transfers, than anyone could have expected. As you said, Gerry wants to build the stadium and flip the club. He bought the club for 1.2 billion, he won't reach that figure let alone a profit if he decides to gut the club to pay off his loan

So I don't buy this notion the players will be sold and the sky is falling. If I had to guess things will operate more how they have with 50m mercatos and aiming for top 4 finishes until the stadium is built. I guess we'll see some players from the foundation leave but that was always going to happen, the club has good scouts they will be adequately replaced

I love Maldini and I wish this club had infinite money to fulfill his vision, but that's not reality. The club will need to continue down this path and by the looks of it Maldini was fed up, it is what it is

It was always surprising how he rejected the offer of being the director at Monaco but never really extended with us officially, even though they said he would. It's probably a sign that this transition was on the cards for a while, whether Maldini knew about it or not.

All these statements about Pioli have me worried they're setting him up as the fall guy in case shit goes badly. I doubt they'll be consulting him more than Maldini has been doing. That's the whole point of a long term strategic approach, you don't change course based on the whims of the current coach. The whole narrative of 'Pioli is now in the inner circle and will be part of the process' seems odd. Nobody is really asking for this, are they? It's not something that can placate fans for how they treated Maldini.

He's probably too drunk to see it happening as well... He's also being manoeuvred into a position where people are pointing fingers at him now over Maldini's dismissal, classic distraction move by RedBird.

What's the downgrade? The path the club was heading down would have resulted in Arnautovic, Berardi, and Brahim if Perez wasn't looking out for the club

I have to admit I’m really excited to see what Pioli has in store for us.

He can prove to all of us that Maldini was holding him back and that with him getting more power, we will soar high.

I’m not optimistic but the idea of our coach having a say in transfers and playing our new players will be exciting to say the least. I always had belief that a coach should have a say in transfers.
