As an eternal believer of the Red and Black colours, I’m on board to give the fury of Furlani a shot.

Dissing Maldini is that way was inhumane, but we don’t know what happened in that room.

Forza Giorgio.

Yes, but Sesto area is served better, is not on a highway and is bigger, Sesto has always been my favourite choice but probably they think it will take too long to start building there and probably they see some kind of problems with the mayor and bureaucracy

No

When Real bought Vinicius they still had the likes of Ronaldo to help him slowly settle in

When they bought Tchouameni they still had Kroos and Modric.

Real have slowly transitioned their team to younger players while at the same time having world class players to help them settle in.

We buy younger players and the expectation is for them to hit the ground running because the senior players above them are rubbish or mediocre.

The one time we did do this well was with Tonali. He was allowed to have a poor season because we had Bennacer and Kessie to lead the line.

Well now we will get young players and they'll learn from Theo and Maignan and eventually Leao and Tonali and the rest, same as how they learned from Kjaer and Ibra. Real never had a period where their entire squad was shit and they had to rebuild completely. From 2019 only Calabria remains. We rebuilt the entire fucking squad. You can't expect the same sort of starting point as Real. But in a few years the senior players in our squad will be the Kroos/Modric/Ronaldo types in your example. In the end it's the same model.

if you look what paolo did so far then you would see he brought soooo much more great then not and biggest flop was cdk for 35 mil we could esaly sell him for 25+
Of course, he is a major part of what revived the club, the point is that everybody overreacts right now just because it is him. I don't like it either, but after all he is an employee. If he does not accept the orders from the boss, he leaves.

Rebic Messias Ballo Toure Origi thats 30m there. As Pioli isnt going to use Adli or try and make CDK functional theyll have to go so that's another 30-35m. And Id sell Saelemaekers tbh.

I know people want to sell Krunic but he's useful in small run of games. Also as Pioli is staying I doubt he wants to lose him
and who is the master salesman that will ship off origi? rebic? cdk? for a valuable sum (origi at all)
balo toure & adli for an actual profit when they're sitting on the bench for 90% of the season.

selling krunic will be a grandiose fuck you to pioli if he really does have any say in the transfermarket since it's clear from analytical assessments of how milan plays that krunic is maybe the player that gets the gist of piolismo the most, and the player pioli constantly falls back on when he needs to stabilize the team.

The young players also dont have the pressure to perform immediately either. They usually come in as backups for the senior star players and are slowly bedded in.

Vinicius and Rodrygo are prime examples of this.

Whereas Milan youth strategy seems to be buy a bunch of them and throw them to the dogs expecting performances immediately.

salad literally said he didn't understood a word of pioli's instruction before coming on to the pitch during his first showing at milan.

great youth integration.

You really think teams won't be interested in Salad?
Young, Belgian international, can cover multiple positions, occasional goals and assists, runs like a headless chicken. Team like Everton and Palace will pay 15 m for him without thinking twice. Reference - Timothy Castagne (21 m)
CDK flopped hard, but is still considered a big talent. Easily sellable for 20-22 m right now.
Rebic and Origi will bring 5-6 m each
Adli can also be sold for 5-6 m
We had offers for Pobega last summer worth over 15 m
We also have some very interesting talents that can be sold with repurchase options like Chaka, Cuenca, Coubis, JCS, etc.

So, we can easily generate between 30 and 70 m depending on who we decide to cash in on without selling a single starter.

Already exploded young talents are well out of our reach. These players cost at least 40 m now and honestly they are not worth the gamble. We will probably focus on under the radar signings and opportunities on the market.
Too much football manager and FIFA, player sales is a complex process that requires development over seasons.

Agent comission, player intention, morale, wages, bonuses, structure of agreement etc. are all factors which can affect it.

Do you work on the Everton board? Alexis has not demonstrated nor given any indication for a premier league team to take a risk on him. They have plenty of squad players who he is no different to. Just because they have money does not mean they will spend it.

CDK may not want to leave, he has a contract and at 22 he might be happy sitting on the bench and training for a season till a better offer from a bigger club comes. Who would want to take a risk on a player that has struggled so badly in his first season. There would also be all sorts of agent commissions linked with his long contract. Sellable for sure and I'm sure he will come good but right now he would be hard to get rid of for the right price.

At best we would be able to shift players like Rebic and Origi but again who would pay anything meaningful after the season they have just had.

Your last comment brings back my point, we are looking for young cheap talent which requires time to develop. We will then sell and cash in and keep the cycle going. Never winning or challenging but doing enough to keep the accounting books in good shape. 35 mil is not enough to build or reinforce a title challenging team. Not in this day an age.

I don’t think that Maldini management was the best. Was it due to management or his capabilities, I don’t know. But the way they fired him was not classy or ac milan-like at all. Now management is piss poor, even poorer than the peanuts we will get for the mercato. Would things turn out different for Milan and Maldini had we gotten the playwe we wanted, such as botman and renato, dunno. Maybe

sorry, i don't understand this take 1 bit and the cognitive dissonance of people who berated pioli just 2 weeks ago and now hoping for him to bring us back to greatness baffles me

pioli is an historically failed coach who couldn't cut it during his 2nd year in most teams that he previously coached, he lucked out getting a super team by the works of boban & gazidis & maldini, and the players grew organically and won the scudetto due to uncompetitive serie a & great organizational cohesiveness

last year he failed upwards, getting a cozy cl run and shithousing serie a results with very few actual footballing highlights during the season. praying that maignan will save the defence and leao the attack. no fluid ball movement and insane press like the post covid run which was his saving grace regarding different approach to football than what we've seen before. not using his bench at all and resorting to the scudetto squad until they're affected by muscle injuries. the kebab and kessie which people are so lamenting for in here after they left were shit during their first two years here and took off only after gaining confidence in the system. but no, giving vranckxxx 2 full matches during his 1st season here, adli to sit out and reach level 265 in candy crush, and sleeping on thiaw when we have the perfect dynamic of kalulu-tomori-tata for a few weeks in a row working out so well, that gave so much confience to the ownership that pioli is the right coach to integrate a youth project.

the fuck did he do to earn the credit like a klopp/pep/ancelotti level coach, having a bigger say in the transfer market? the guy adores brahim diaz and will gladly splash 20m on him. if the 'pioli will get a bigger say in the transfer market' is just bullshit rb corporate talk while in actuality moncada gets the players he sees fit and pioli is expected to field them then fine, although it's disgusting by itself and misleading the fans. but actually giving pioli power in deciding who will be puchased in 10's million euros? guy who integrated exactly 1 youngster during this year and fucked several other's progress? yeah, perfect fit for a rb football philosophy. the fuck.

i'm not discrediting him for pushing above his weight this year with cl sf and top 4(*), but if the ownership actually saw his performance and how he got there they would sack his ass along with paolo. i'm comparing it to the mcu, especially phases 4+5;
while the movies are objectively shitty, they rest on the laurels of the previous 3 phases' success and made big bucks at least in the beginning period. however, the diminished return of said box office success was great as it progressed, since the audience caught up with the fact that they're not getting quality experience and worn out the welcome of phases 1-3.

THAT'S EXACTLY what happened to pioli after scudetto season. team figured him out, low block for 90', and he couldn't scrape by or adapt his tactics. i'm guessing leao giroud tonali and fucking messias aren't enough unlock spezia & cremonese. our squad is so bad that 4 straight defeats against inter are expected with such a massive squad strength gap, as if lautaro martinez is haaland and kebab is kdb. and if so, then you use the same tactics fucking spezia uses against you, and sit it out at your half. or, i don't know, fielding a 3atb tactic which saved him after taking a full month to understand how to use.

sorry cloren that isn't directed specifically at you, just that the sentiment is repeated so much here and just doesn't make sense to me.
You already know I agree with your criticisms of Pioli

But I don't think this situation is treating him like a Pep or Fergie

To me, it seems like he's just being brought into the fold so the club can avoid a situation where 60m worth of players are rotting on the bench because the coach didn't agree with the move. Which happened this past season and is gross incompetence

I expect Pioli will have a short leash

The 35m budget reported doesn’t really matter, I think it’s the +revenue from player sales part which will greatly impact our mercato.

Unlike Elliot, I think Redbird will SELL core players if good offers arrive. My reason is very simple. Players such as Mike and Theo are contracted till 2026, and Redbird will not renew their contracts again, considering their salaries and ages. Therefore Cardinale will sell them in this mercato or 2024, their market values will drop in 2025 mercato as that will the last year of their contracts. So potentially with player sales, we will have a 100m+ mercato. I say potentially because proceeds from sales may not be fully used for transfer.

And I don’t believe what Furlani said about competing against the best in Europe again. Get prepared guys and don’t be too attached to any of the players, we will become another Dortmund at best under Redbird.

Btw, does anyone know if Redbird will pay their loan/interest to Elliot from Milan (AKA ManU) or from their own account?

There are far too many to name past & present
I don't think giving Pioli more say over transfers has anything to do with Pioli as an individual

it's a change in how the club is structured and how decisions are made

so rather than "Pioli is the greatest coach of all time and must be given everything he wants" it's more "whoever is the coach should have some influence over the players who are brought in"

it's really self-sabotaging to say "let's keep Pioli as coach but not pay any attention to what he wants because he's not Klopp or Guardiola"

The problem with the coach having a big say in transfers is that if things go bad you're left with players who are only a good fit for that particular style. So if you have a bunch of players only good for the counter attack then you have to continue having coaches who are use to playing that way to maximise those players.

Or if every coach has a big transfer input and you change coaches every 18-24 months you end up having players from various different reigns and everything becomes disjointed like it was in the banter era.

Very mature. I think I will develop towards that position myself. What else is there to do?
It took me 24hrs.
The guy is a lifelong Milan fan with knowledge of the financial world. We had worse than him. F&M.

Whatever happens, whoever comes and goes, I’m in love with Milan ❤️🖤

No it's not a myth... Players have always talked about the family atmosphere at Milan and it's been appreciated. It creates a goodwill towards the players.

Ofc... One doesn't need to go full r3tard with the family shit either. Need to find a balance and include what you're saying as well.
I 100% agree with you.
I never said we shouldnt have a family atmosphere in Milan.
Like i never said we should sell Maldini as an example when he was aging.
Maldini earned that we treat him like a family.
But to consider this as the default strategy is wrong 90% of the time.
