Very mature. I think I will develop towards that position myself. What else is there to do?

Roger Federer is the GOAT
sorry, i don't understand this take 1 bit and the cognitive dissonance of people who berated pioli just 2 weeks ago and now hoping for him to bring us back to greatness baffles me

pioli is an historically failed coach who couldn't cut it during his 2nd year in most teams that he previously coached, he lucked out getting a super team by the works of boban & gazidis & maldini, and the players grew organically and won the scudetto due to uncompetitive serie a & great organizational cohesiveness

last year he failed upwards, getting a cozy cl run and shithousing serie a results with very few actual footballing highlights during the season. praying that maignan will save the defence and leao the attack. no fluid ball movement and insane press like the post covid run which was his saving grace regarding different approach to football than what we've seen before. not using his bench at all and resorting to the scudetto squad until they're affected by muscle injuries. the kebab and kessie which people are so lamenting for in here after they left were shit during their first two years here and took off only after gaining confidence in the system. but no, giving vranckxxx 2 full matches during his 1st season here, adli to sit out and reach level 265 in candy crush, and sleeping on thiaw when we have the perfect dynamic of kalulu-tomori-tata for a few weeks in a row working out so well, that gave so much confience to the ownership that pioli is the right coach to integrate a youth project.

the fuck did he do to earn the credit like a klopp/pep/ancelotti level coach, having a bigger say in the transfer market? the guy adores brahim diaz and will gladly splash 20m on him. if the 'pioli will get a bigger say in the transfer market' is just bullshit rb corporate talk while in actuality moncada gets the players he sees fit and pioli is expected to field them then fine, although it's disgusting by itself and misleading the fans. but actually giving pioli power in deciding who will be puchased in 10's million euros? guy who integrated exactly 1 youngster during this year and fucked several other's progress? yeah, perfect fit for a rb football philosophy. the fuck.

i'm not discrediting him for pushing above his weight this year with cl sf and top 4(*), but if the ownership actually saw his performance and how he got there they would sack his ass along with paolo. i'm comparing it to the mcu, especially phases 4+5;
while the movies are objectively shitty, they rest on the laurels of the previous 3 phases' success and made big bucks at least in the beginning period. however, the diminished return of said box office success was great as it progressed, since the audience caught up with the fact that they're not getting quality experience and worn out the welcome of phases 1-3.

THAT'S EXACTLY what happened to pioli after scudetto season. team figured him out, low block for 90', and he couldn't scrape by or adapt his tactics. i'm guessing leao giroud tonali and fucking messias aren't enough unlock spezia & cremonese. our squad is so bad that 4 straight defeats against inter are expected with such a massive squad strength gap, as if lautaro martinez is haaland and kebab is kdb. and if so, then you use the same tactics fucking spezia uses against you, and sit it out at your half. or, i don't know, fielding a 3atb tactic which saved him after taking a full month to understand how to use.

sorry cloren that isn't directed specifically at you, just that the sentiment is repeated so much here and just doesn't make sense to me.

I don’t actually have any faith in Pioli. If it was to me I would have fired him and kept Maldini.

I think he had a disastrous season and show himself to be a limited coach.

With that said, based on reports it seems that our management has decided to give him more power in the market. So I’m excited to see how he does, will he mess it up (likely) or will he prove us wrong and do wonders with it (unlikely)

That’s what I’m getting at here.

As far as what he did? No I think an approach that works well if that if you have a coach you have trust in and has coached Milan for 3-4 years and you still have in him, they should get invovled in the market. It’s not whether he earned it or not, he’s the coach. He should have that power. This is my belief in general.

The coach could be Abate for all I care, if he comes in and has a contract for 2-3 years or even already coached in Milan for 3 years, he should still have input in the market. It’s the modern style of clubs these days.

Arteta isn’t even a established coach himself, yet he had a lot to say in the market and did pretty well this season.

This is Ten Hag’s first season as a coach in a top 4 league, was given the keys in the market and did well. Ten Hag has a better resume than Pioli but not even close to Carlo/Klopp/Pepito etc but was given the keys to the market and performed well.

According to some links Berlusconi dude posted, Pioli had some input in the market 2 seasons ago when Gazidis was around, what did we do? We won a title. This season everything points out that when Maldini gained full power, he did the decisions on his own and Pioli had no input, based on how this season went, this might actually make sense. We did badly although Pioli didn’t do himself any favours either.

My point is, if you’re hiring a coach and giving him a contract and have faith in him, you gotta get him involved in the market. It’s not about what Pioli has done to earn it. For me if he’s the coach, he has earned that right. I don’t care if the coach is Abate, Italiano, Pioli or a Carlo/Pep/Klopp. I believe this approach is better than old Italian minded approach where the SD has all the power and coach has to adapt.

I’m not saying Pioli should be given the keys after his tactical failures this season. But considering the management are doing that based on reports (unless you think it’s all PR which I don’t agree because no one really asked for Pioli to get more say), then I hope he can somehow magically prove us wrong and bring us to glory

If you disagree fair enough.

The 35m budget reported doesn’t really matter, I think it’s the +revenue from player sales part which will greatly impact our mercato.

Unlike Elliot, I think Redbird will SELL core players if good offers arrive. My reason is very simple. Players such as Mike and Theo are contracted till 2026, and Redbird will not renew their contracts again, considering their salaries and ages. Therefore Cardinale will sell them in this mercato or 2024, their market values will drop in 2025 mercato as that will the last year of their contracts. So potentially with player sales, we will have a 100m+ mercato. I say potentially because proceeds from sales may not be fully used for transfer.

And I don’t believe what Furlani said about competing against the best in Europe again. Get prepared guys and don’t be too attached to any of the players, we will become another Dortmund at best under Redbird.

Btw, does anyone know if Redbird will pay their loan/interest to Elliot from Milan (AKA ManU) or from their own account?

There are far too many to name past & present
and who is the master salesman that will ship off origi? rebic? cdk? for a valuable sum (origi at all)
balo toure & adli for an actual profit when they're sitting on the bench for 90% of the season.

selling krunic will be a grandiose fuck you to pioli if he really does have any say in the transfermarket since it's clear from analytical assessments of how milan plays that krunic is maybe the player that gets the gist of piolismo the most, and the player pioli constantly falls back on when he needs to stabilize the team.

Don't you know Saudi Arabia are currently doing a recruitment drive.

Sometimes you got to sell at a small loss to get rid of players. Otherwise they linger like a bad smell. Also getting their wages off the books helps. Which means they'll pay their replacements at half the cost.

Even 50 mil budget is lol. I mean you'd have to have an A+ score if the objective is serie a champion.

Yes it can be done by buying undervalued assets and finding stupid buyers for our depreciating assets. But it's really difficult to do. You can't also assume you're the only scout in the world with the best eye for finding hidden talent and will be able to do it year after year. At some point you'll be outpriced and how much money you have is all that matters.

If the budget is really 50 mil, how is that even considered an improvement to last year? I mean we reached CL semi and (if I remember correctly) finally in the green financially. It should be more given CL qualification is essential and how dependent we are on CL money.

Never liked this owner to begin with and I fucking loathe them.

All this Pioli given the keys stuff is pretty laughable-it’s a ridiculous narrative. What to exactly? What’s he gonna do with £35 mil that Maldini can’t? I mean just look at the pedigree of Maldini and the player he was-I’m guessing he knows just a little bit more about football. Let’s not kid ourselves that all this must boil down to Redbird and investing money, let’s not get away from where the buck should stop

Why do people call Leao immature? He’s the nicest and most sensible player in our squad by far.

Because his work ethic doesn’t ‘seem’ as much as the rest of our squad? If people really call him immature it’s the most stupid narrative ever.

I’ve never seen Leao lash out on any player, never see him have a meltdown or ever disrespect anyone or a club. Heck even Tonali who I consider to be one of the most grounded players went all out to Dumfries

Spaletti even provoked Leao and he acted calm to it. In fact it was Maldini the calm figure that responded back.

I totally expected Leao to easily have the best response among the team because I think he’s the most approachable and mosts peoples/rational/calm person in the team who never lets the emotion get the best of him
the only person who stopped and gave attention and love to the guy in the wheelchair during the walk to the dressing room pre-match, gained my respect from then onwards

Calm down, bro. How do I become a Redbird fan? I was simply trying to tell what Redbird will do.

Do you think I want Milan to become another Dortmund? Hell NO.

I’m on your side all the way! 🫡

£35 million hell £50 million is a drop in the ocean these days-Moncada isn’t Christ turning water to wine. We need money spent!! Flash forward to the end of the window we will be saying the same thing and over again until we get new owners who want to progress us

It’s his affection and interactions with the fans that makes him a top guy to me.

I’m glad he’s the face or star of Milan. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

No it's not a myth... Players have always talked about the family atmosphere at Milan and it's been appreciated. It creates a goodwill towards the players.

Ofc... One doesn't need to go full r3tard with the family shit either. Need to find a balance and include what you're saying as well.
i imagine who will pay out of his pocket to come here or will get paid half of what his worth (theo) just because of the people in the club now... we better win some cl's soon and very soon

As an eternal believer of the Red and Black colours, I’m on board to give the fury of Furlani a shot.

Dissing Maldini is that way was inhumane, but we don’t know what happened in that room.

Forza Giorgio.

Seeing how we don't have a choice or a say in the matter....me too

No surprise there, Maldini left because he was opposed to the direction-let’s not let other sources brainwash us

False, 100% for sure.

If it was Italiano I can buy the report. Pirlo? After his mediocre spell at Juventus
