Let's also look at :max: aka "EuroMax" by this forum's elite thinkers:
Managed Milan from 2010 -2014
Won *gasp* one scudetto....same as Carlo
But hey at least he did great in Europe too right? What's that? he didn't win it ONCE? :conf:

No.
2010/11
We got knocked out by Tottenham...failing to score a single goal in a team with
iBra, Robinho, Pato and Ronaldinho not even making the quarter finals
2011/12 - kicked out by Barcelona
2012/2013 - kicked out by Barcelona
Then he goes to Juventus and slaps around Italy but can't win a single CL.

Yeah even my big toe predicted a season like this. I've been saying this since Kessie left after out scudetto season and we never replaced him because we were too stingy to invest and thought Pobega would be a great replacement.

So, D’Amico is the guy we want? Seemingly so.

Problem is we have to wait for the season to end to see if we can land him. Percassi isn’t stupid, and he has a good thing going in Atalanta. Chances of D’Amico are low in my view.

So, we’ll go back to Tare, assuming he hasn’t signed elsewhere.

If he has, prepare thyself for a “prodigy” from the French league. Maybe even the one we have at home. Incompetence with Gallic flair.

In the meantime, we are wasting time.

And we shouldn't forget putting eggs in the Krunic basket.

I said the other day if we're putting so much importance on Leao and Theo, acknowledge their best seasons were with a "Kessie" type player beside them to bail them out.

It's not difficult... If you're not going to replace Kessie it's difficult to place sole blame on Theo and Leao when they do Theo and Leao things and leave holes.

Surely management, scouts and managers can see the issue and address it?

If you want more cover from your LB and LW, you need different players to Theo and Leao. So that's a management, scouts and managers failing!!!

In 24 matches with Conceiçao only four clean sheets, far too few.

If Milan fails to finish in the top eight of the standings, there will be an unpleasant side effect for next season: they will have to play in the Coppa Italia in mid-August, that is, before the start of the season.

The Rossoneri will not enter in the round of 16, as happens with the top eight, but to get to that stage they will have to overcome the third and fourth rounds on the field, usually scheduled in the summer (the first) and in the fall (the second).

Gullit spoke at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid and he was asked by a reporter about what has been a disastrous 2024-25 campaign for his former club.

“Conceicao is a good coach, but you have to win. Milan have accumulated too many defeats, they are unrecognisable. He arrived at a difficult time, the Supercoppa victory was a moment, but you have to go to the Champions League otherwise it is not a good season,” he said (via MilanPress).

“I feel sorry, especially for the fans, people are wondering what is happening. The match against Genoa [the 125th anniversary celebrations] was terrible, the fans are not happy. If you are used to winning, what the people want is to continue winning.”

It's what we've done time and time again.

At what point do we all just accept and acknowledge that this is sheer incompetence from the top down?

Nothings finalised yet, but the writing is on the wall currently.

I'm not exactly confident, no surprise there...

Tare and Sarri is fucking miles better than what we currently have that's for sure.

Both out of work, just get them signed up if they're out best options, and getting cooking behind the scenes. After all we're ruthless and work in the shadows. Right?

The Coppa Italia has become AC Milan’s last resort at the end of a miserable season, and the month of April has not even ended yet.

Calciomercato.com confirm that barring any big surprises Sergio Conceicao will leave at the end of the season, but they also ask a question: what is the difference between the Portuguese coach and his compatriot and predecessor Paulo Fonseca?

Fonseca’s stint

To analyse how the two respective paths went, we must take into consideration that Fonseca took charge of 24 games across three competitions, while Conceicao also had the chance to coach in the Supercoppa Italiana which he won.

The current coach of Lyon won 12 (exactly 50%) of his games with six draws and six losses. It produced an overall points per game average of 1.75, with 42 total points obtained out of the 72 available. Fonseca’s Milan scored 44 times, conceding 27 goals in all competitions.

At the time of his dismissal, the coach left behind a team that were eighth in Serie A, but which beat Inter in the derby after six consecutive losses to the Nerazzurri, while they also won 3-1 against Real Madrid and were one step away from directly qualifying for the Champions League round of 16.

Conceicao’s tenure

Conceicao arrived at Milan at the end of December and right away he entered the history books, winning a trophy (the Super Cup) in his second match in charge, the 50th major honour in the 125th year.

It was an excellent start for the Portuguese, but things went badly from there. The Coppa Italia provides another chance to win a trophy but the Diavolo are ninth in the league and miles away from the top four, while they were dumped out of Europe by Feyenoord in the play-off round.

The numbers show that Conceicao since arriving has won 11 matches, drawn five and lost eight, conceding 30 goals and scoring 37. The Average? 1.58 points per match, inferior to Fonseca.

Further comparison

The aforementioned numbers show the reality reality: in the same number of games, the statistics of Conceicao’s Milan are lower than those of the team with Fonseca at the helm.

There is actually other data that reinforce this thesis: Milan have had fewer successful dribbles (140 against 157), less shots on goal (83 to 92) and have lost possession more (1684 to 1781).

In essence, it is a team that creates less and has seen its production and attacking danger decrease. Furthermore, there is another to bring under the magnifying glass: Milan suffers from a real taboo in direct clashes.

Fonseca, in seven games against sides higher in the table, won one, drew three and lost three, with seven goals scored and 10 conceded, gaining six points at an average of 0.86 per match.

Conceicao, on the other hand – with two big matches against Bologna and Roma still to play – has not won any head-to-head clashes, drawing two and losing on five occasions, with four goals scored and 10 conceded. The result? Two points obtained from 21, at an average of 0.29 per match.

Can't really argue with this... Unless you're a card carrying HotPocket member.

Has anyone told Ruud about our repeat accounting Scudetto titles?

Silver linings and all that...

We have put our most offensive midfielder on Theo and Leao's side for the last two years.

Then wonder why we have holes every match... And from those holes players have time to pick out plays on the right thus causing issues for our right hand side.

It's crazy no one has addressed this and people still blame the players solely.

Either build around our best players and get better best players.

Building around Milan’s better players ? That would make too much sense and would defy the
“Revolutionary” algorithm process that has Milan in 9th place. But accounting Scudetti !

Even if you think that Leao and Theo and Mike are the problem--and let's face it, the majority of the time when people say "the players" they really mean those three players, it's never about Reijnders or Pulisic or even Pavlovic and company, no, "players" has become code for Leao, Theo, and Mike--but even if those three players were the problem, do we really trust this management with finding solutions?

We also have to conveniently forget that we've seen this team without them this year and we've looked like shit without them. Minor detail.

We keep hearing about how Origi and CDK were the cause of all our problems.

Meanwhile, this management has signed: Emerson, RLC, Musah, Pavlovic, Walker, Felix, Tammy, Morata, Okafor, Chuk, Terracciano, Bondo, Santi, Sottil, Romero, Pellegrini... these are all mediocre to bad signings, are they not? Fofana is meh. Reijnders and Pulisic are the only positives.

"Maldini made mistakes." Yes, he did. No one is saying that our previous regime was perfect, but perfect isn't anyone's bar.

I'd take 4th place and Origi and CDK over whatever the fuck has happened in the last year.

National mourning for the death of the Pope, every saturday game is moved to sunday BUT Inter game against Roma will still be played on saturday ( the only game in Italy that will be played that day, even Primavera and Serie C won't play, but Inter will) this is beyond Moggi, i'm sick and tired of Marotta
The government allowed Inter to play saturday but Inter just refused to do so, Inter game will be sunday at 15.00, Venezia-Milan sunday at 12.30 and we refused to be moved to allow Inter to have more rest

I think people have been leaning harder on stars half because of their effort and half because they're expected to carry us. theo has not been shy about phoning games in, he's still a talented and physically gifted player so he'll look better than fodder but he's just not trying very hard. leao stopped growing a while ago and didnt keep up with people's expectations about his ceiling and mike first disappointed with injuries and now with inconsistent form and previously unseen blunders

and tbh i think nobody really expects the team to work well, because it's built like shit so our results are dependent on how the stars play. been that way ever since pioli days so i cant fault casual fans for thinking it's their fault cause if you see theo and leao carry the team for 3 years straight and you arent too invested in the intricacies of running a club, you probably default to hating on leao cause he's the main offensive star of the squad

but like yeah we're just not a well built or good team. a good team is one that lets you rest seedorf with a nocerino and it makes nocerino look good, not one where you take 1 player out and they look like a relegation side. we have a lot of shiny puzzle pieces that dont fit together. had a glimmer of hope with conceicao but as soon as we ended the winter window without a cdm it got halved and now it's non existent

best way forward for the club would be to get sold, 2nd best would be to fire everybody in charge rn and start with a clean slate. nobody in the building has shown any degree of competency

100% Agreed.

As much as people are frustrated with certain “players” they are still and can still be significant assets going forward if there is a real plan put in place, followed through and a real team built around the teams better players or assets.

Management teams make errors, directors, scouts, coaches and of course the players themselves are just as culpable for errors or form.

No one ever said the previous directors got everything right or are exempt of errors. The list of dud signings under the current management is astonishing! I mean truly ridiculous.

The chaos, confusion and ineptitude of the club structure under RedBird have brought Milan to this juncture. I dread what will follow if it remains in these hands.

I have decided I won’t watch any games next season if Leao is still on the team.

Im sick and tired of watching this slut .

(Not blaming season on him only obviously)

Biggest cunts are the people who decided we don’t need a DM .

But that manchild I just cannot watch anymore it’s too infuriating - it’s not fun anymore. Apart from a few flashes here and there he is such a liability it’s unreal.

Stupid fouls all game when he shouldn’t , almost never making the right run, terrible positioning almost always, bad touches a lot of the time , no composure , atleast 2-3 shots from 1% goal chance situations(for him) , smiling away like an idiot when we sucking balls all season, terrible decision making..

Just not worth all the negativity it brings me.

I know I’m being unfair and biased but it’s Almost as if he’s killed the joy of watching milan for me :/ ..

And iv given 23 years to our club without flinching.

Nah.. Ibrahimovic's arrival made a impact in the lockeroom, Pioli don't. Pioli was about to get fired.

I think that theory’s been debunked by now – especially this season, with Ibra around Milanello maybe not every day, but definitely every week, constantly in touch with the players. And still… it didn’t change a damn thing. So why would it have been so different when he was still playing?

Pioli still deserves a ton of respect for what he achieved with this squad – even if he lost his way toward the end.

Pioli does deserve credit of course he does it goes without saying.

He lost his way post Scudetto season there had always been small annoying habits or stubborn patterns in his tactical set up. Even in his good times but they didn’t effect the outcome too much.

Post Scudetto those habits started to get amplified and became a real problem. Pioli is the past now. Right now as in the present tense Milan have multiple issues that need addressing.

I simply do not trust nor do I think the current club structure is capable or have it in them to find a way through the mess they themselves have created.

I see more poor decisions and poor direction ahead unfortunately.
