Milannews wrote a long article about Futuro and they say

Originally, the project for the second Milan team had been assigned to Antonio D’Ottavio as sporting director, who would have detached himself from the operations alongside Furlani and Moncada to dedicate himself 100% to the creation of Milan Futuro. The choice of coach had already been made and had fallen on Ignazio Abate, who had done so well with the Primavera, taking them to the Final Four of the UEFA Youth League twice, exiting in the semi-final in their first year while, in the 2023-24 season, they became European vice-champion, beaten in the final by Olympiacos. But Abate’s profile was perfect because he knew the Primavera group well, which would then be promoted to the Milan Futuro squad, and the players would have started from important certainties in terms of daily work. Instead, the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the Milan Futuro project shuffles the cards. Abate was fired because he was guilty of not giving space in the Primavera to Zlatan's eldest son, Maximilian, and after his dismissal, that of his father Beniamino will also come, who in the meantime had become the goalkeeping coach of the women's first team.
But in addition to those with Abate, Ibrahimovic had a series of clashes with D’Ottavio on various issues relating to the creation and management of Milan Futuro and this difference of opinion will be the beginning of an increasingly difficult relationship between the two, with D’Ottavio unable to go to Milanello and to Milan Futuro matches and relegated to a purely office job. In this scenario, the figure of Jovan Kirovski emerges, Ibrahimovic’s trusted man, who is put in charge of the Milan Futuro project, but without any experience in Italian football and in a category as difficult as Serie C. It will be Kirovski who convinces Ibrahimovic, during the latter’s November trip to New York as a Cardinal with Furlani and Moncada to push for the removal of D’Ottavio, who will be formally dismissed. In doing so, the team found itself without an important point of reference, given that Kirovski never gained a foothold in the team group (there were rare occasions when he followed MF away from home).
The season, meanwhile, had started with Daniele Bonera on the bench, in his first experience as head coach. But even here the company line on how to develop the players' growth project is not clear. So much so that over the months, Bonera saw Torriani, Bartesaghi, Zeroli, Jimenez and Camarda taken away from the first team (mainly to make up the numbers) while Liberali did not find a fixed position, being tossed around between the first team, Milan Futuro and Primavera. This constant coming and going led the players to find neither continuity of employment in Milan Futuro nor chances of quality in the first team, moving from one locker room to another from morning to afternoon. There are many examples of players on the bench on Saturday night in the first team and then forced to travel at night to play 5-600 km away, arriving more tired than lucid. Result? There has been no real growth except for Jimenez, too good for Serie C and one to have made the leap to the first team with important minutes played. Zeroli, in January, was sent on loan to Monza where Camarda should have also gone, then kept at Milan by Ibrahimovic. All this continuous whirlwind has created confusion within Milan Futuro, with the results on the field that have been scarce and, in the long run, also the impossibility of being able to make your top talents make the appearances necessary for the post season. It is no coincidence that, especially Camarda, were unable to play in the play outs for salvation. Without forgetting the timing of the change on the bench, with Bonera perhaps remaining all limits and the casting between Bollini, the promotion of Guidi from the Primavera (Vergine did not agree) and then the arrival of Massimo Oddo, who did the most with what he had inherited, from all points of view.

And we come to the other sore point, namely the costs sustained by Milan to reach sporting disaster. The start-up of Milan Futuro, among everything, cost 12 million euros, which then became over 15 in the January market. Impressive costs for a Serie C if you consider that with that money there are those who make more than important Serie B championships the disaster is even more unbelievable

If futuro is in serie D next season can they still get relegated to lega pro?

Where carpenters plumbers and people with part time jobs play?

Pizza delivery boys etc.
I think lega pro is another name for Serie C. Serie D is basically amateur football and not enough for players to make a living kicking a ball. People say that we might stay in C due to other clubs' financial problems, otherwise I would just dismantle the team because playing in D is too embarrassing for our brand.

We spent 15 mln on this project and we are fighting any peanuts for our main targets.

And we never had a team good enough to win a scudetto in the first place. It did us so much harm, convincing management that players like Leao, Tomori and Bennacer were world class.
Can I finally understand the narrative of "not having a good enough squad to win a scudetto" in this shitty serie a?
Really is a loserdom mentality

Our scudetto challengers is a system team that is playing consistently for years, with a roster that is comprised of some very good players and some decrepit, has beens, old asses that would not even be accepted into galliani's squad during banter era (mkhtaryan, taremi, asslani, darmian, the list goes on)

Or, a team that's managed by a hothead who is known to be a public crybaby, who only competes in one tournemant, and his boss offloaded two of his superstars during the season

Alternatively, a club with a new coach who's never been at this level before, inexperienced squad who's leading cb got injured in September for the whole season, with management in even bigger turmoil and disarray (resigned entirely only two years ago) than us

Or, the Italian Arsenal.

So no, we probably can't compete for both serie a coppa and UCL with likes of musah Emerson royal and chukuwaze. But lucky enough, that won't be a problem next season.

Treating this Serie A like it's the one from the 90, or like we're competing in La Liga against Madrid which plays with monopoly money, or barca which like the undertaker somehow gets revived every season, is funny

Obviously, we are not even close to mid table EPL teams in terms of budget and commercial rights. But in this serie a? We are wholly competitive.

In some country Ibra would be executed for the damage he's done to Milan.
If Ibra was a real man he would admit to having fucked up tremendously, that he's too inept for the job and resign while giving his salary back to Gerry because undeserved.

Seriously, the magnitude of Ibra's damage to the club is worse than I could have imagined and if he retains his power we might end up in Serie B.

My native village of 6000 people made Serie D one year, they went from 3d categoria, to 2nd, 1st, Promozione, and Serie D. It happened in 2012, the year I moved back to Italy to retire there but returned here after 10 months, so I witnessed this historic event in person at the cost of 5 Euros per ticket.

Unfortunately the field of play, (wouldn't call it stadium with fans standing up behind fences), wasn't good enough to host Serie D matches, and the mayor refused to finance the funds needed to transform it into a viable stadium for the division, some businesses wanted to help but not enough to fill the gap without the municipality, (10 million or so needed), and we lost the club that was forced to move to a bigger town 50 miles away and took the name of that place.

We are now back to second categoria but I would have loved to watch Milan Futuro playing my hometown and wonder who I would have rooted for.

According to my source Congerton is a very good SD, he is the one that bought Lookman and Hojlund
We don't need someone that can identify talent. We need someone who can build a team.

We need someone that can control every aspect of the technical side of the project, not to just identify and buy talented player, as that is the job of a scout.

If it was as easy as getting 15-20 top players, why did it take PSG 15 years to reach a CL final?

Dont forget Inter sponsoring lega serie A
i know it looks like a joke but it was true a couple of years ago. Fiat was sponsoring FIGC (serie A) and FIGC owns and takes care of AIA (referees) finances. Fiat is owned by Juventus owners. So indirectly, juve was kinda paying for the refs salaries :p

My source told me Busardò has been the shadow SD the last two seasons. The plan is D'Amico and then he will pick the coach, according to my source D'Amico likes Sarri a lot
Busardò has a very good relation with Congerton and i have been told that Busardò worked in the negotiation for Loftus

^ This.

People always think - "let's replace our best players".
Why not replace our shittiest players?

Who is gonna play on LW if we sell Leao? Okafor coming off of his loan?
Who is gonna replace Theo? Terra-fucking-ciano?

If you wanna prove "how shitty Theo apparently is" - buy a player who is good enough to bench him.
That would be an awesome sight to see, right? :proud:
Problem is we can’t afford to keep our players and to buy upgrades. So they’ll have to sell one and then they’re going to buy 3 risks with potential

Please explain to me what ”the best of Leao” is? What do you expect him to turn into after watching him for 6 years?
Because to me, what he lacks you can’t teach. He may become a better finisher perhaps, but this is it probably it. He turns 26 in less then a month..

Wish we would’ve kept playing him in the middle. I remember he would have games where he disappeared but would still score. Would’ve been ideal for a 2 striker formation.

But I’m convinced his finishing has gotten worse overall since his earlier days here

We can, if stop making ******ed sporting decisions.

Tammy got top 5 salary in the squad.
RLC and Royal got top 10 salaries in the squad.
Ship them out and you can afford to bench Theo and Leao.

Tammy is on loan.
No need for "supply / deman" just send him back to Roma.
There are teams interested in Royal, the management needs to convince him to accept the offer, but that's their job.
RLC indeed might be hard to sell.
