So if the San Siro isn’t sold by the end of the month is that goodbye new San Siro back to San Donato?

As can be read in the public notice, Milan and Inter, on March 11, 2025, submitted a proposal for the purchase of the real estate complex of the GFU “San Siro” area, including the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, aimed at the construction of a new stadium and the repurposing of the current “G. Meazza” facility.

The proposal was subject to the condition of a positive evaluation of the DOCFAP by the Preliminary Services Conference and “the subsequent confirmation of the declaration of public interest by no later than June 30, 2025,” with the commitment to finalize the purchase agreement by July 31, 2025.

So far, there has only been a positive evaluation (with conditions) of the DOCFAP, but the new declaration of public interest did not arrive by the end of June, and, based on the latest updates, the purchase agreement will not be finalized by the end of July either.

If in the meantime the proposal has not been modified, without public interest and without a sale agreement by the end of the month, in 11 days the clubs can consider themselves free from the commitments made with the Municipality of Milan.

A “tiny” detail overlooked by all commentators.

Is this a renovated San siro or a new stadium in the adjacent land?

Personally I’ve checked out of the stadium saga and I’ll believe it when I see it

I am hearing incredible things about Estupian from the PL fans that I know, and also from videos online

If he can stay injury free, as Pulisic did largely, he’s going to be a massive upgrade compared to unfocused Theo

Liverpool going to spend a billion dollars in one summer and for some reason we got dinged for FFP for years because...uh, I don't even remember. The UK is such a turd stain of a country.
That’s why I always hated the poms.
Deceitful pieces of trash.

Anyhow, we get pinged cause we don’t have the ability generate as much revenue as these top clubs in England, the top 2 in Spain and bayern

Now add psg as well.

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
Serie A had its opportunity to build a brand collectively in its dominant era. Instead the clubs allowed the traditional rivalries and differences to split or divide them. Overlooking the grander or long term potential.

They squabbled and missed a golden opportunity to truly build a long term dominant league. Where each club could own their own stadium and Serie A would be the desired destination for the top players

But not merely for money more so to prove their worthiness in what could have been the toughest and most demanding league in the world.

Serie A may not be what it once was but it remains a tough league. It is no longer the desired destination for top players.

However the EPL is an overrated league, money is its only perhaps even its main attraction.

Milan has increased its offer for Pervis Estupiñán.

Initially, Milan had offered 13M fixed without bonuses for the Ecuadorian full-back, and now they have raised the offer to 15M + bonuses, getting quite close to Brighton's demands, who want a figure around 20M.

Matteo Moretto.
Just realized something....

Is this guy the reason why we're terminating Vazquez's contract?

EPL is a fodder league

It’s like the World Cup. Just like the English team in the World Cup

Just for show

They have all the money in the world to get top players etc. but will always fail in the big stage when it matters. Club World Cup fluke aside. That’s a joke of a tournament.

You ain’t shit until proven in serie a

Toughest league in the world for a reason

The rule only applies to signings made in this transfer market. Vasquez, Royal, Pavlovic, etc were signed in previous markets so they don't count.

If confirmed non EU, then signing Pervis and Vlahovic would exclude a third non EU players like Richard Rios.

For Vasquez, it poses the issue were clubs are less likely to use one of their two spots on a backup keeper. Hence there is less market for him.

Fun fact: That's literally the bottom lone of what Gerry once said in that infamous interview that fans to this date still persiflage to "we don't want to win".

I'm glad you're coming around tho :)

I’m pretty sure that’s not accurate. Signing a Non-EU from another Italian team will not affect the quota. And I believe teams are allowed to sign 1 Non-EU/year, but can add a 2nd Non-EU player if they sell/loan/release a player to a club abroad.

I also think that the first player signed from England is excluded from Non-EU status.

Pretty sure transfer across from Italian club to another is exempt from eu quota

Pervis will count as non eu unless he has a eu passport I believe

Also players from England do still take up a spot unless they also have a dual citizenship with a EU passport

And that's why you always need to have multiple targets in your negotiation list.

We wasted 2 months because Brugge want 2m more than we offered.
At 40m, I'd rather go for a temporary solution (loan someone, or do a Giroud/Walker type of deal), then risk the 40m on a player that never played in a top league.

So how sure are we of this "two million gap"? Everyone seemed to have concluded that the difference between offer and demand is "a mere 2m". Because the journos reported it?

Jashari is not DM, and Modric I don't think will play there.

Ricci (or Xhaka in wild turn of events) will be starting DM, flanked by Modric and Jashari. Backup midfield I would say will consist of Fofana Ricci/Bondo RLC

And then get our stadium asa
We need to focus on becoming Bayern of serie a
And then get our stadium asap

Sadly nonsonqui reckons stadium won’t happen

Most Italians seem to say the same.

@pippofan

are we getting the stadium or not? Any updates from the municipality?
Probably not. Everytime you think we're getting closer some new stupid obstacle comes up, more meetings and agreements needed.
Each of these problems take months to resolve, new groups spring up that oppose it, historic societies, enviromentalists, the beaurocracy never seems to end.

And it's all r&tarded because the stadium is in a pretty isolated part of the city, not much around, so a new structure with hotels, shops, etc around would be an economic boom for the city and create many new jobs. Italy sucks in that aspect and the city administration is the worst with the idiot mayor and city council.

Red Bird likely doesn't have the money to build a 1B+ stadium on their own. Likely the only way it gets built at San Donato is a new investor(s) help pay for it or they bring Inter along there as well. Red Bird still also have a large chunk of loan to repay Elliott soon.

They probably got some shady deal from Sala as well to continue at San Siro.
I honestly don’t think that’s the problem. I think Gerry overestimated the amount of revenue we can generate there on our own. If the place is only full once a week at most, then we can’t charge a lot to rent out all that real estate. It severely limits how attractive the project is. If we can double the foot traffic, then that changes the formula significantly. The project costs stay almost the same, while we have Inter pay for half of the stadium at least. I’ve said this from the start, the project makes a LOT of sense being shared with Inter, and I can see why he’s hesitating if it’s just us.

After the Chinese left it explains the temporary shift to San Siro since he wants to give Oaktree a chance to try there first (San Siro is always the better option). If they can’t get it done then San Donato is always waiting for both of us.

I’m worried that Sala will keep delaying and delaying like he’s always done, we push our timeline further to accommodate him. It’s already happening with news that they’re delaying the decision to sell until September. It’s clear that it’s never going to happen so I don’t see why we’re entertaining him.

I don't think Milan gets embarrassed for offering 35M+ for a prospect from the Belgian league. If anything, they are embarrassing themselves.

This is embarrassment (btw happened in 2018., the year Modric was about to get the Ballon d'Or):
