It's the third Swiss player we're linked to. What's this new obsession with Swiss players? Please don't blame me of they pull another Okafor, Vogel or Senderos
Sometimes I feel like you are tare and just pretending to be aloo here

No wonder we can’t sign anyone. You spend most of your time here

Out of curiosity who are your top 5 then?

For me probably in no particular order
Ruud
Drogba
Henry
Haaland
Bergkamp
Honorable mentions: Tevez, Aguero, Kane, Shearer, Rooney

CR was a winger so didn't include him
putting rvn and haaland before aguero and rooney and shearer is just....

Hot tip: it is not their attachment to Switzerland.

For Italy national team to be competitive again, the only option is give citizenship to oriundi players by either paying them off to migrate over to Italy or just granting an option of dual citizenship based on their heritage.

I don´t know if holding out for 25m for Theo makes sense. Especially if it takes the whole window to get over 20m we might be not worse of getting 20m early and having the initiative in the market.
Atletico aren't in the Club World Cup, so their Mercato dates are same as ours, I.e. it starts July 1st.
We're still 18 days away from the Mercato from even opening. So why is there a need to rush?

If they stay in the negotiations there is no need to rush. However if they walk away we better find a new concrete buyer, which is possible of course, but there is also not an endless number of possible destinations.

Theo will have to just put out, or put up.
We're going to be on the market to buy his replacement this Summer, regardless of whether he leaves or not. He either rides the bench (or the stands) and misses the World Cup, or he takes a chance with a new team to see if he can regain his form there.

There's got to be an obvious reason why Allegri is willing to rehabilitate and reintegrate Mike back into the team, but does not show the same willingness to Theo. I get the feeling it will only be revealed once he leaves though, like Tonali and his gambling addiction (which led to his 8 month suspension).

🔙 Allegri today at Milanello after 11 years, emotion and old memories.

👍 In tune with Tare

👀 Great motivation for the Livorno coach. After all, he has followed Milan constantly in the last 6 months and has already understood where he has to intervene.

Seems like Allegri is gonna drop the team deeper to protect the backline more, slow the tempo a bit and fill the midfield with more ball players(of course still room for the runners who will cover for the old heads.) I bet his thinking too is that we can push up Leao and Pulisic into more space and try to release them quicker.

Really simple, old school coaching but I think our team is more suited to this. I think Fofana will be a breakout player too under Allegri+not being asked to be a tempo setting player.

Happy about our midfield last season, were you?!
Man I was the one saying we could finish 6th with the mid we had last summer.
Underestimated how much it sucked.

This however is not a smart solution.
We have the money, invest it in the midfield..by far the most important part of the pitch no?

Mind you I rate Xhaka, just think the whole "leadership role" is redundant with Modric signing.

We need a leader on the pitch at all times.
If Modric is good enough to play only 35-45 minutes every game, we need somebody to be there for the other 45-55 minutes to steady the ship.

Sure.

So spend 50 million and sign a 25-27 year old to play that role.
Hjulmand comes to mind for instance

And hey if they do that plus sign Xhaka, I'll gladly eat my words.
What are the chances of that though

I'd love to have Hjulmand in the team, but at his age, he's not going to be the calming presence that we need when things aren't going well. He won't be the one to talk sense to other teammates around him when they lose their heads (simply because he's around the same age as most of them).

Modric and Xhaka are the captains of their respective national teams, they are used to that role.

Eh agree to disagree on that part.

I've always thought it's mostly about presence and character.
And when talking about Hjulmand specifically (a pipe dream I know..)he just captined his team to a league and cup double.

Doesn't get more "leadership" than that as far as I'm concerned

It is more about the money, him joining Atletico wasn´t the problem. He just seemingly wants to stay in Europe, and when it comes to outside of Europe football the WC card doesn´t hold much weight anymore. Milan needs to decide how low the club can go, next summer it is 0m, even 15m (or 18m) is a huge amount of plusvalenza, reputation aspects aside.

Avoid still signing players beyond pre-season
