Sold 2 most promising primavera players for peanuts (Kerkez, Simic).

Everything I've read about Simic was he was not very good last season. So no idea where this tweet is coming from, and hoenstly it isn't even that glowing when you look at the words
written.

fearless in duels? ok, but does he just foul or make the tackle/interception? Who cares if he's fearless. decent compsure on the ball? again, not flattering.

Kerkez... Well... We all know what happened there. Not sure if Maldini has more blood on his hands from the 4 big $0 departures, or letting Kerkez walk without a single shot. Hindsight 20/20, so the big 4 at 0 still the worst

LA77, one of my all time favourite Milan players. Probably second only to Nesta. Fucking loved his passion for the Milan Shirt

But but we reached a semi final lmao

I've never seen any fans highlight reaching the last 4 as much as the orphans.

Let alone fans of a top club that ranks second for most wins in said competition

Simic is at least nominated for Golden Boy Award. He was not bad at all.

Selling Simic for peanuts while wasting money for Pavlovic, who‘s not better than Simic, describes perfectly what’s wrong w this club for two decades. No excuses.

Same applies to Kerkez.

lA 77 was awesome

he was a legit good full back

theo covered his flaws with goals

I honestly cant think of many if any great defensive performances

which is a bit sad

for modric

if we are lucky

its a pirlo to juve type season

guy just delivers as a technical passing playmaker in a midfield with others to cover and defend

is it confirmed confirmed?

Jashari's name is suddenly around a lot and no mention of Guerra. I guess they've changed the primary target.

In case you want to read the whole thing:

Tare greets the journalists present.

“I’ve been at Milan for two weeks now. I want to thank the entire club for the warm welcome – they made me feel like an integral part of the group right from the start. That’s been fundamental for me to begin this journey with drive and determination. I’m joining a club with such a glorious history, and that brings a huge sense of responsibility – to give my all and contribute to bringing Milan back to where it belongs: at the top of Italian and European football.”

Where do you feel you’re at, and what kind of team will Milan be at the end of the transfer window?

“I’ve had a chance to look closely at the issues from last season, but I don’t like to dwell on the past. I only want to learn from those mistakes and ensure they don’t happen again. In this first phase of the market, we’ve focused on evaluating departures and identifying potential arrivals. We’ve held many meetings with the staff, with Zlatan, Moncada, and Allegri. We’ve met several times, and I believe I have a clear vision: it won’t be a revolution, but rather a targeted reinforcement of specific roles to make us competitive again. We’ll also have more time to work during the week next season, which will help lay the foundation for the long-term project.”

What was missing last season? Will Modrić arrive?

“We’ve analyzed it, and one key issue was the lack of clear leadership within the squad. I may not know all the internal dynamics yet, but I believe the signing of Modrić would directly address that. He’s a globally recognized figure in football. I spoke with him personally, and I saw a player who still has great hunger to compete. His arrival would be essential to provide a point of reference for a team that needs players like him. And he won’t be the only one – we’ll bring in one or two other experienced players to guide our promising young talents.”

What do you think of Xhaka and Jashari?

“The midfield is the area where we’ll intervene the most – that’s been clear in our talks with the coach. The names you mentioned are quality alternatives, but ultimately, we’ll choose based on what this team truly needs. We feel it’s important to increase the overall quality of play.”

What’s the situation with Theo Hernandez?

“Everyone knows Theo’s quality – he’s given a lot to this club. Evaluations always start with the player’s own wishes. He’s expressed a desire for a new challenge, and we accepted that as part of football. With my arrival and a new coach, we’re building a different team. His departure isn’t finalized yet – we’re working on it. I understand the urgency for news, but things change by the minute in this business. It’s ongoing, but nothing is closed yet.”

Furlani said it won’t be a revolution, but Reijnders and Theo could leave, and there’s talk about Maignan… Will Maignan stay?

“Maignan is not leaving – he’ll be with Milan next season. There was some interest from a Premier League club, but no agreement was reached. We view Maignan as a key figure both on and off the pitch. We’ve decided to stick with him and move forward together. Of course, the market is unpredictable, but as of now, he remains a cornerstone of this team.”

What’s the mood among the veterans?

“Looking at examples from other clubs who bounced back quickly after tough seasons, I believe the same can happen with Milan.”

What’s the situation in attack? Is Gimenez the main striker? Are players like Kean or Vlahović possible?

“We might act on the wings if there are departures. Regarding the striker role, we’re looking to bring in another player to compete with Gimenez. I rate him highly, but he’s still adapting from a very different Dutch league. We trust him, but we also need another forward – someone with the traits of a true center-forward who makes a difference in the box. That’s what we’ve lacked since Giroud’s departure.”

What’s the future of Leão? Any offers? Is he untouchable?

“Leão is a true champion. Very few players today can decide games on their own. He’s fundamental to both our team and project. Both I and the coach had serious conversations with him – and I was pleasantly surprised. He’s a competitive guy and was mainly concerned about how we’ll strengthen the team. For us, he’s a key part of the project. He still hasn’t shown his full potential. As for offers, we haven’t received any – it’s all just market rumors.”

Can Allegri and Milan bring out the best in Musah?

“Musah is a very good player, but we’re looking for midfielders who fit our new tactical setup. We’re planning for a three-man midfield with a deeper-lying playmaker – Musah doesn’t have those traits. He’s better suited to other roles. That’s why we’re going in a different direction. We’ll add another midfielder and a striker. Also, we plan to sign a right-back and a left-back. Depending on sales, we’ll look at wingers and central defenders too. Same for attacking wide players.”

How did you manage to sign Massimiliano Allegri?

“When I arrived, it was immediately clear we needed to act quickly. From our first talk, I sensed how much Allegri cared about this club. He had a deep understanding of the squad’s issues. Giorgio and I flew to Lugano and had a long meeting with Max – within 48 hours, he made his decision and joined our project.”

What kind of Milan do you envision in terms of identity and attitude?

“It’s not just about formation – it’s about how the team plays. We discussed this at length with Allegri. We want a compact team that dominates matches, with players who are excellent on the ball. One reason we’re focusing on midfield is because signings like Modrić or a strong deep-lying midfielder will raise our technical level significantly. We want to be protagonists from day one – this league can bring great satisfaction.”

With Allegri, is the second star (20th Scudetto) the goal?

“The club’s history speaks for itself. At Milan, the goal is always to build a team that competes for trophies. It’s an honor to work here, and together with the coach, we’ll give our all to achieve that goal.”

What’s the plan for Francesco Camarda?

“Just yesterday, we discussed the future of our young talents, including Camarda. We’ve decided to loan him out, and we’ve finalized an agreement with Lecce for a one-year loan. The hope is that he returns ready to be a part of our future.”

How did you handle the waiting period before joining Milan? Any message to the fans who protested?

“Waiting is part of this job. When it comes to a club this important, decisions must be made carefully. Joining the club I supported as a child is a dream come true – it gives me even more motivation to succeed. I’ve dealt with protests in the past – they’re part of the job. For us, it’s just added responsibility. From big defeats come great victories. Look at Napoli – we must learn from past mistakes and aim to be competitive right away.”

Do you have a specific profile in mind for full-backs? Does Zinchenko appeal to you?

“Yes, we have a clear profile. We want young players with great potential who fit our system. These are things we’ve studied with the coach. We’re clear on what we want, and in the next two or three weeks, we’ll move forward on these deals.”

Is Pulisic staying? Any renewal plans?

“He’ll be a key player for next season. We’ll address the renewal with Giorgio at the right time – right now, our focus is on the squad. He was one of the most positive players last season and will be one of our pillars moving forward.”

How do you replace someone like Reijnders?

“Comparisons are hard, but I believe Milan has a player like Loftus-Cheek – one of the most complete midfielders in Europe. He can be vital next season. We need to manage injuries better, but his value isn’t in question. We may also add a new midfielder with different characteristics, especially as we shift to a three-man midfield that can adapt during games.”

Will the striker competing with Gimenez need Serie A experience?

“We’re evaluating both domestic and international options. It’s about finding the right characteristics. We need someone completely different from Gimenez – he’s not a classic No. 9 like Giroud. We need to pair these styles effectively.”

What emotions did you feel joining Milan?

“I care a lot about a sense of belonging and want to pass that on to the team. Representing this club in the best way possible – on and off the field – is key. We must get back to our roots and have players who identify with these colors.”

What did Modrić ask you?

“The first thing he asked was if we were building a team capable of winning the league. He’s a champion coming from Real Madrid with seven Champions League titles. He wants to be a key figure, and his mentality, leadership, and personality will be crucial. This could be a big season for him too, especially with the World Cup ahead.”

Did Allegri ask for anything specific?

“We speak daily – sometimes 4–5 times a day. He knows everything we’re doing. We’ve only discussed characteristics and opportunities that arise every day. He’s very clear about his system: certain roles come first, and then the rest will follow as the market progresses.”

Is convincing Furlani to spend €45–50M on a striker part of your job?

“When it comes to strikers – and I’ve spoken about it with Zlatan too – this team lacks one key trait. Gimenez likes drifting wide before coming inside. What we’re missing is a striker who stays in the box, holds the ball, helps the team advance – a classic No. 9. We have different options. It’s not about price – it’s about characteristics. There are opportunities in the market, and I won’t hesitate if I think something’s right. Sometimes expensive players flop, and cheaper ones shine. For me, it’s about roles and interpretation. With Max, we’ve decided to be careful and wait for the right moment. Our top priority is the defensive midfielder – then we’ll fix the rest.”

Are you working closely with Moncada?

“I’ve known him for over 3–4 years. He’s a close collaborator and will help with key decisions. There are few people in the world who know players like he does. He’s a crucial part of our project.”

Furlani begins the media briefing:

“The last time I spoke officially, I said it was time to turn the page and stop looking to the past – we should look to the future, to the next season. Right after the end of the league, we made two key announcements – our first two signings of this season.

The first was Igli Tare, a sporting director with experience, who will work both in the transfer market and in managing the sporting side.

The second was Max Allegri, an experienced Italian coach, who knows Serie A very well and is the most successful active manager in Italian football.

These won’t be our only signings – but that said, there’s no need for a total revolution. We’ll add the right pieces to the squad to be ready for the new season.

Our sporting objective remains the same: we must be competitive to win trophies.”

Is the club implementing a new sporting structure compared to recent years?

“Yes, with this season, we’ve changed the structure of our sporting area. We realized it was important to have a figure like Igli. As we got to know each other, we saw a dynamic where we could achieve results together.

Regarding the coach, we decided to go for someone with experience and a winning track record – and also because Italian football is very particular and different: experience in Serie A was essential.”

Are you considering signing players with high salaries?

“Football is central to the Milan project – which should be obvious, since we’re a football club with 125 years of glorious history.

Sometimes there’s confusion and people talk about Milan in economic terms as if we were something else. But football is clearly the focus.

That said, all our financial resources are invested with the goal of delivering sporting performance. But within this, there are limits and parameters.

If you overspend in one area, you’ll fall short elsewhere. The goal is to reach peak sporting performance – but we must carefully decide how to allocate our resources, which come from both the sporting side and the commercial side.”

What kind of transfer window will this be?

“If there’s interest in our players, it’s because they’re recognized as strong players. Last season the context wasn’t quite right, and they didn’t perform to their full potential – but they are good.

On the one hand, we don’t need a revolution. On the other, yes, there’s a lot of interest – but that doesn’t mean these players are for sale.”

Where does Ibrahimović fit into this reorganization?

“Just to clarify, Zlatan has never officially been part of the club’s technical staff. There’s been some confusion about his role.

He has been – and remains – a very important person within the Milan project. His role is at the ownership level – if you check RedBird’s website, you’ll see it.

His input spans sporting, commercial, institutional, and ambassadorial roles.

He’s someone who made us winners as a player, helped bring the Scudetto back in 2022, and don’t forget – he played in the Netherlands, Spain, England, France, the U.S… He brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience.”

MN: What was the selection process for Tare like, and why did it take so long?

“The process took time, as it should when hiring someone for a key and central role in the future of the club.

From my perspective, that’s perfectly normal.

What matters now is that I’m convinced we made the right choice, and we’re all working in the same direction. That’s what counts – that we work together toward a common goal.”

Is a contract extension for Maignan still a possibility?

“There was interest from an English club, but we didn’t consider it compelling. Mike is a very important player for Milan, and he has been very professional – as has his agent.

There was openness toward the interest, but they didn’t push or force anything.

As for the medium- to long-term future – that will be judged by results.”

Will Pulisic renew his contract?

“Christian still has three years left on his contract with Milan, so it’s not an urgent matter.

From the club’s and ownership’s perspective, he’s a very important player.”

Is it enough to rely only on the sporting director and coach in difficult moments?

“It seems like people are separating the sporting side from the rest of the club – that’s a mistake, and I want to clarify it.

There is no split between the sporting side and the rest – we are one unit.

In difficult moments, the entire club will be there to support the director and the coach.”

Why Allegri? This is a different approach from last season – what impressed you about him?

“What impressed me was his knowledge of Milan, his understanding of Serie A, and the fact that he’s objectively the most successful active coach in Italy.

He’s enthusiastic and knows the club and organization well – he’s highly motivated to do well this season.

Before we even began, Tare said that Allegri was the right man to lead this new start and bring Milan back to where it belongs.”

What is Moncada’s role now?

“Geoffrey has been with Milan for seven years – he’s an extremely valuable asset. He’s grown and remains our technical director.

His ability to spot talent in France – and many other places – is rare.

He’s staying at Milan and remains a central figure in our project.”

TARE ON MODRIC - "The first thing he asked, was if we'd have a roster capable of winning the championship"

Laughing at anyone who thought he'd agree to come to just waste a year in a garbage team. All this man knows is winning. We're going to spend and create a legitimate roster. And of course, cut the crap.

I'd get 4 new midfielders: Modric, Jashari, Xhaka, Guerra (0 + 35 + 10 + 25 = 70m).
RLC and Bennacer are practically unsellable, Bondo and Musah can be sold/loaned.
We need 5-6 midfielders for 3 positions

Besides Bondo is a home grown player. We‘d keep the squad rules in mind.

If RnB built the squad, Allegri‘d only have 18/19 players n a bunch of players we can't register.

Heard that before…

but 2022 we received a € 15-20m offer for Pobega by Torino… we rejected it. :max:

Bologna wants to keep Pobega, just not at the price of his buyout... I can see us letting him go for like 8-10M at most.
Bennacer will go back to Marseille, either paid loan or bought out... But for peanuts too due to the ridiculous salary maldini blessed him with

“We speak daily – sometimes 4–5 times a day. He knows everything we’re doing. We’ve only discussed characteristics and opportunities that arise every day. He’s very clear about his system: certain roles come first, and then the rest will follow as the market progresses.”

"From big defeats come great victories."

And u think he is that bad?
He's not bad at all, but it's still just the Belgian league. It's always a huge gamble, because Jashari's a very raw product at this moment, and it's unclear what his potential might be in the future. 35M for current Milan is a lot for a gamble. Trossard and CDK were players that really stood out in the Belgian league and all in all, they have been quite average abroad up until now. I don't think Jashari is to Brugge right now, what CDK meant to Brugge, or what Trossard meant to Genk. Of course this is not always a reference, but it's a very expensive move for a player whose value might be 15M next year.

I think they really see RLC as a player who can be not just useful but key. How that’s going to work…not sure. My unease with it is that a lot of journalists refer to that game against PSG and the shit ton of goals he scored under Pioli as proof that he is the real deal but hampered by injuries.

I am cautiously optimistic. No, scratch that. I’m not completely without hope on him.
Man, you guys are high on hopium... The guys not going to get better, develop or become something other than what he is.

He scores goal sometimes but goes absolutely missing 90% of the time.

One good game against us and one game against PSG in 4/5 seasons?

Come on guys, raise the bar... Maybe a new manager and system is what he needs lol?

Fuck off... Tare sounds like he's gotten the memo "fine as we are", make it work!!!

At best some sort of reverse psychology thing to fool some bum midtable EPL side to look at RLCs highlight reel...

Come on guys, you're better than this!!!
