Idk I’m skeptical of this Ricci guy for purely superficial reasons

Guy is handsome young Italian with a strong Italian name and no other Italian side wants him? Something stinks

Nice to see you guys are hopeful tho
Strong Italian Name
Young handsome Italian
No other side wanted him (because he wanted us and no one else)

I've seen this one before

But what was our head scout doing all this time?

Or the managers... Come on this was never a SD problem.

Not replacing the defensive cover in midfield has been a collective fuck up.
Head scout only does what the Manager and Management tell him to do.
You should be asking what the fuck Pioli, then Fonseca was doing not asking for a CDM.

Some context with stats would be nice fellas. Torino is not exactly a very expansive team, not lots of attacking talent there and they don’t score a lot. They’ve been a hustle and bustle team for a while. It would make sense that ricci is high in duel percentage and not very flashy in terms of passing/progression stats

Like it or not, that’s Bennacer. His stats are insane.
The difference is that Benny only plays 2 months of football every season. December when he comes back from injury and January at AFCON.

Actually Inter was after him as well for starting DM replacing Hakan, which we talked about here a lot hoping he'd choose us. Also some EPL sides have made inquiries but Ricci wants to stay in Italy. The low evaluations of Ricci here is ridiculous, maybe because he's Italian and so he has to suck.

Modric, Xhaka, and Fofana all have more assists in them. Maybe Jashari as well; but, I haven't really seen his game. We can maybe make up for Deer's goals with a midfield providing them to our attacking players more efficiently. The totality of what Deers brought to us though is hard to replace.
Ricci hardly ventures over the midway line, practically a 3d CB for Torino, so his stats are not great but if given move chances to move further up the pitch his numbers will improve. Like someone said earlier, Ricci is basically a more defensive Tonali, but at 23 has still room to improve.

Well, what worries me is what sources your concerns are based on. There's only one source that says that n it's bullshit source. Kay Palli Style. SUS!! :taphead:
Noticed it long before I signed up. Ur sources are always handpicked n u only use what fits the story u want to tell. U do it cleverly, always hiding behind a wall of text n a dash of ChatGPT.

My phone is being slow in a bad service area(I’ll try to post again later) but I found a deep dive stat article on Ricci from last year. In all the leagues they looked at, Ricci was second to only Kimmich in recycling the ball under pressure. Where Fofana was a lot riskier with his decision making and boom or bust(lots of assists but lots of lost balls), ricci is simpler and much more efficient.

His ball progression stats are pretty mid, but again, he’s keeping the ball extremely well UNDER pressure. Some might think that equates to a 2015 De Jong perma sideways passer, but really it means he’s moving the ball out of tight spaces into safe spaces. Torino also was middle of the pack on almost all passing and attacking stats(I think even worse this season), meaning it might make sense for his passing stats to look better on a better team.

Seems to do really well in duel percentage too, he’s good at winning fouls and doing well in whatever is in front of him. He’s decently athletic but not nearly enough that you would expect him to go sideline to sideline dominating space and being an elite ball winner. So he’s extremely safe on the ball under pressure, solid all rounder, and good not great defensively. He wouldn’t be flashy but paired with other good passers I think he can be dependable.

Yeah, good luck winning the financial Scudetto while comfortably sitting in 8th place. Sure, Maldini let players go for free, but at least he brought the real one. Keep stanning these Americunt owners, really fits the level you’re at.

I support the club and it's owners...not a former lb who couldn't even congratulate the club for winning the supercoppa

My level is not crying for our former player as if he was some saviour

A guy who lacked the courage to take a penalty in 2003 and 2005 finals
