We played efficiently at the begining. Defence looked good but there were always problems. We were clinical when going forward. I think the loss is better than the win if u think long term. If we win we would all be hppy but there are problems. I wonder if it was just that it was our first pro game and they more organised. But this team is good enough for top 4. I dont care what anyone says. Bona played injured last year and u can tell he is on his day a very good/ wc mid. Also didnt like how we tried to coddle higsy. Nothing unexpected really happened. Going to San Paolo is a loss 95% of the times, so losing there is not a surprise. It would've been much worse if that happened against Samp or Torino. That would have been points that we have to get while these from last night were not. Nobody goes to Naples saying he has to win.
What is worrying is the way we played even when we were leading. We did not dominate the game and scored 2 goals out of nowhere, while Napoli missed 2 good chances before we scored the 2nd one. On a normal Sunday it would've been 1-1 by the 30th minute and then we would have still lost. What made us dream is the 2nd goal which again happened without pressure or some crazy good 10-15 minutes. Just a good combo and a decent shot. Apart from that we did nothing.

Gatusso really need to give up these tiki taka bullshits in defense. What is the point of them? We struggle to get the ball out of half and then Donna kicks it strongly. No actual idea what tondo with the ball. This is the reason behind the 1st goals which brought them back to life. They were already down and were about to give up but we gave an easy ball away near our penalty box.

Also Gatusso needs to pay more attention attacking. We can't rely on being clinical every time. We have 3 shots on target. That is not good. Apart from some classy moments from Suso/Hakan/Higuain/Bona we have nothing to offer unless they opponent makes a silly mistake.

Leonardo NEEDS to bring a crazy good playmaker in January otherwise we will not make it to UCL most probably

Honestly the problem is we dont look fluid in defence or attack. We just seem to play. Also i think we look to get the ball to certain players too often. If u are a pro football player , i dont care if ur a gk. U have to be able to pass the ball where u want. I think all of these problems come from lack of confidence. We need to go on a run, start by beating roma and building that confidence.

We played some nice stuff out of defence at times. Our two goals were good goals. We just didnt have the experience to know when to play it out the back, and when not to. Theres a time to pass it out the back. Theres also a time to go long, kill the game, waste a bit of time, kill napoli's momentum. We didnt get the balance right

But people on here acting like we were crap for 90 minutes and its all doom and gloom makes me laugh.

The lack of a back up for biliga does worry me indeed. We may need to use monto in cup games, as we cant afford for him to get injured

Gattuso need to stop being a Rhino. U can't speak to all the players everytime, He should rely on core players and build a team backbone (Reina / Dollar - Romagnoli - George Lucas - Hakan - Higuain) . Those players are the one who bring the message (positionning, tactics changes, ...) to the others on pitch.

Kessie always out of position running everywhere is a good illustration of lack tactical awareness. Remember this "Energy and motivation alone can't bring u in the top 4"

I dont understand why Caldara wasnt played, was he injured? Yes, we bought a young defender, but we didnt buy a young defender who we have the luxury of slowly bedding in... throw him in there from day 1, Roma & Caldara, get a partnership going.

I was also dreaming up a Dinho type debut for Samu... where he wud come on sumtime in the 2nd half and create/score a goal... but he wasnt even given 20mins.

So now that Biglia, Suso, Bakayoko and Donnarumma have all been exposed as complete frauds (just as predicted) and are to be banned from the XI, I think it's time to move RicRod to the central midfield and maybe even send Montolivo a boquet of daffodils and Giannino dinner with Leonardo, Maldini and Gattuso. He's here for 1 more season anyways and he's still somehow less bad than Bakoyoko and Biglia.

Trying RR in midfield is actually not a bad idea, there is a small chance that he might be surprisingly good there.

Regarding Biglia I feel like there is a need for some middle ground in the judgment: Yes, he isn´t a world class player and we payed way too much but he still is a more than solid Serie A regista and will get better with time (that he went to the world cup might trouble him at his age too during the first weeks).

Baka should be limited to Vice-Kessie though as long as he does not improve 2/3 of his game (passing, awareness, positioning).
