All these talks about Gattuso, Ambrosini and Seedorf renewal is making my skin crawl - potential signings like Acerbi and Traoré just add insults to injury. They said they were gonna reduce the squad size and reduce the wage costs, then why the hell are they signing a bunch of mediocre squad players? I'd rather have 1 decent player than 3 mediocre squad tourists..

@USC:

I also agree to an extent, but Nesta and Abbiati should be enough Milan icon experience. We cannot keep Gattuso and Ambrosini with the hope that they can repeat their great performances for three or four times a season and their places in the squad may prevent young and talented players from getting some minutes on the field (Strasser, Merkel?)...

so lets see we made 268 mil revenue this season compered to 236 mil last season THIS IS GREAT AND REMEMBER NEXT SEASON WE WILL HAVE MORE COUSE OF CL SUCEES .
32 MIL MORE REVENUE IS GREAT FOR US.

ACERBI signed loan deal for 0.7 mil wage and we have 4.5 mil option to buy

TRAORE will sign 3 year deal for 0.9 mil wage

MONOLIVO-Will sign 4 year deal for 2.3 mil wage

so we have to replace all those players and remmeber that montolvio will be aqulani replacment and traore will be dm backup .

NICE, for one flamini salary we have now salary for 3 players….

Isn't this Traore just similar in style like his fellow country man Keita?

Yes, but I cant see him being anywhere near Keita in quality.

Still. If we get him as free agent. Why not?

I agree on Gattuso...I was hoping that he would be sold to Russia last year. I would only like him on Milan as a scout/coach/hitman/grounds crew/etc.

So it seems that the only person on whom we disagree is Ambrosini and at EUR 1 M, it's not that big of a deal. In the grand scheme of things EUR 1 M is nothing (don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE it) but in a billion euro industry, it's nothing.

If he plays in 25 games across all competitions...say 10 starts and the rest defensive subs, are we not getting our money's worth?

I'm also not convinced whatsoever that Strasser will turn into anything other than squad depth. Merkel and Ambrosini play different positions, so I doubt that they'd be poaching many minutes from one another.

Ambrosini outperformed Van Bommel? Yeah, totally. That's why Allegri always prefers Van Bommel whenever he's fit and the game is important.

I'm struggling to see how Allegri's decisions relate to who PERFORMED better when on the pitch...fact is ,Ambro has had a better season than Van Bommel

I'd like you to explain otherwise

For me it's not about Van Bommel fandom, it's about keeping the good players and the Dutch captain still belongs to the best anchors out there. We won't be able to replace him adequately, especially when you consider our financial situation.

Ambro is still a good player and Rino made Van Bommel into this myth that he is some irreplaceable man mountain

Rino :proud:

And where did I question the treatment that our players receive from the management? What I indeed do question is the decision to keep both Gattuso and Ambrosini.

Some people always tend to come up with "show some respect to the old guard". Guys, Milan is a football club and not a charitable institution. It may sound harsh, but it's the truth. I want Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf and so on all to be a part of the coaching or managing staff after their player careers and I think that's enough respect. I have absolutely no bias against older players, but they simply have to perform and living in the past with too much sentimentality when it comes to renewing contracts could ruin the next season.

Yes Milan is a football club and so it's identity should be protected and taken care of. Rino and Ambro (along with seedorf ) are the last of their generation(midfielders) and need to help usher in the new one.Van Bommel does not carry the identity and history that the aforementioned duo have and so it's a rather easy decision to make as Ambro has deputised admirably along with Rino who is essentially our midfield "amplifier" .That is discounting Van Bommel's desire to stay.

So funny that over the past two seasons it is the two midfield senatores who have helped keep us in touch ...Seedorf last season and Ambro this season ...both were renewed ;) ...they still have something to offer and their new (lower) wages will accurately reflect their squad status .It's come a bit late ,but there are signs that we are on the rise financially and on the pitch (pending )

If you can get a free blowjob from a fat transsexual hooker, why not? A blowjob is a blowjob just like a free player is a free player.

This coming mercato for Milan will be like this.Sign some bosman player,we already have two, some low wage players and one big purchase to max 20 mil.Juve will be biggest spenders in the league, they are motivated by good results in the league, and next year they will play in one more front.Who knows maybe Berlusconi will surprise as all.

Resigning Ambro = excuse to not buy any decent anchor

Buying prick like this one:

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/tran...agrees-personal-terms-with-galatasaray-report

And yeah last summer he said NO to us (we wanted him on classical galiani loan & buy)

Ironically, given to all our injuries this season he would probably have practically unlimited playing time here…

But no, he decided that was better for him, that he fights for breadcrumbs at real instead of full playing time at Milan…..

Now seems it was not playing time, but money ( salary ) the real reason why did he turn us down ….

Not surprised. He's moved multiple times for money. Some players prioritize that.

Speaking of Galatasaray. I feel VERY confident we'll get Felipe Melo.

Galatasaray don't want to pay his 13 mil fee. He will be sent back to juventus. We will take him from juventus for a loan + option for 5 mil or some bs.

As much as I want to believe we'll go a different direction, Felipe Melo is the lazy type of gamble Galliani loves. A lot of talent. In a rough spot. His current mAnagement desperate to dump him. It could work out. It could not.

Why should he bench an Italian Milan "icon" for a foreigner if the foreigner is worse?

Ask 100 Milan or neutral football fans about Van Bommel vs Ambrosini. You'd be one of maybe five to ten dudes that prefer Ambrosini, at least three of them would be Van Bommel haters.

I don't even know why someone can doubt the Dutchman's superiority. Even an Ambrosini at the peak of his craft wouldn't be able to stand a comparison with this old Van Bommel.

Your Milan icon spectacles blind you. Take them off.

We have Al you fools so have some faith.
I bet you that if this Traore is half decent then he would be solid under Al's reign :o
Do we have an underperformer with this guy ?

Al

You mean the same guy who blew a 4 point lead against Juve facing the likes of Fiorentina (at home) and Catania?

ok....

Actually, IMO the sadder part of this whole discussion is fact I'd say they've been our two most consistent performing mids.

Ambro may have his faults, but he does his role better than everyone else does there. MVB, same can be said.

Speaks to quality of midfield, imo.

No doubt van Bommel is better. Plus Ambrosini is on a serious decline which will only be worse next year.

:) .. Newscastle seem to be like the Udinese of England.. they have been pulling off good relatively unknown signings in the last 2 years. Maybe its the color of the jerseys :o (but that doesn't explain juBe)
