Suso isn’t one and we only have one full back who is injured.

So, it's 63 passes between FOUR offensive players. And then, 39 passes between Suzu and Borini...it's not that good stats even for one midfielder.

To be fair, Rodriguez and Calabria are crap going forward, so that makes the 4312/4321even more ineffective. You have to have FBs bombing up and down the flanks like Serginho and Cafu back in the day.

Today has nothing to do with the formation, it was all on GP being an idiot and handicapping the team with shit players + the general shitty quality of our players.

Its a specialist formation... as you point out, it needs elite players to work out.

That’s how they played under Gattuso and it was to me the most frustrating thing about Gattuso’s teams. Static, lazy, carefree meandering through matches. When teams are defensive you have to WORK to get open, and we haven’t done that in years.

Calabria was the worst player on the pitch but ok...

Piatek doesnt suit the 4312. Just like all the rest of our players.

With another tactic like 433 4231 and another coach he already scored in pre season.

Piatek scored 19 for Genoa in 6 months playing alongside other striker.

A reminder that Sarri started his 1st season with Napoli like this. I will not say anything more than that, just a food for thought.

Those are the only 3 games he used 4312, switched to 433 immediately after that and won 5-0 against Lazio, 2-1 against Juve and 4-0 against us in Milan in 3 weeks.
