Exactly this. I'm just not sure having his for the full season will help him grow, or that he can contribute much at all. Getting solid minutes elsewhere is the best thing. He's clearly talented and has the will to grow.

I'm sold. Not only the goal on his first touch but his movement off the ball is great, links up well to spread play like with Samu/BT when he was outnumbered instead of just losing the ball or trying to shoot.

He's been better than Diaz today for sure. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he beats Diaz as first AM sub this season. Diaz's small frame really puts a limit on his game

Fans in the stadium, against a good opposition... scoring with his first touch? Nope, I did too.

Feels very much more like an official game than many last season. The atmosphere alone with fans makes the game feel alive.

Unfortunately, he has been better than Diaz. You can say because Diaz was facing the first XI of Nice, and that's fine.

The problem is, I've seen this Diaz before. This is the sort of Diaz that worries the hell out of me.

I wonder if Hakan had been more direct about how shitty he was, would Maldini have paid the 35m to Udinese for De Paul before Atletico got there?

Krunic is a useful sub, but we have a huge hole in our CAM spot, and Diaz isn't ready to fill it, he just isn't, maybe he never will be. He's got talent, but he strikes me more as Bojan than David Silva or Juan Mata, which are the players he should be emulating.
