Wondering what was written on that piece of paper that Theo read, was it “ don’t forget to pick up a yellow?”
it was an instruction for Theo to release early cross into penalty area whenever he gets the ball.

Tomori fouled a Spezia player in the beginning of the build up.

Well some people called him stupid or whatsoever and I read similar comments on social media. Just wondering, have these people never watched football before? I think it's totally normal that you forget about a stupid yellow card in such a moment, just wanted to share my opinion.
I also think it's a stupid rule, I mean come on these players are human, football is about emotions. Giving yellow cards for that is nonsene imo.

Theo and Giroud out is a big loss, there's no denying that. Don't know what's wrong with Leao. He still has some great moments, but he's too often disappearing and wasting chances (not shooting at the right moment or passing to a teammate in a better position). It seems like this renewal stuff is affecting him or maybe he's just a bit out of form. Theo also wasn't his usual self for a few games, probably had something to do with the robbery, he's human after all, so in that case understandable.

Those rules are so stupid. That yellow for "excessive celebration of a goal" was implemented when in football celebrating was simply lifting your arms to the sky and that's it. Nowadays, this rule is taken completely ad absurdum with all the dancing and choreographies after scoring a goal. Most of them provoke the opponent even more than taking off a T-shirt. Why they don't finally abolish this rule is beyond me.

The person who laugh the most is De Laurentiis .Bought Kvara for 10 millions ,now he is worth 35 milions according to transfermark.Napoli know how to buy players.I think Lozano and Milik were flops. He sold Higuain for 94milions to Jube biggest Italian transfer .Kvara is going for big money too.
I hope we can sell someone for 70-100 millions .

Don't know what to make of this. Ideally we keep and extend those players worth so much in our squad, no?

If it was up to me I would ship Rafa this winter. The team still needs big improvements - starting RW, real replacement of Bennacer, starting CB, etc. Unless Gerry wants to spend 100 m out of his pocket, there's no way we can fix these issues just like this.
Selling Rafa for 100 m would help us fix at least 2 of these and we will still have 35-40 m to buy his replacement.

P.S. 100 from Rafa and 30-40 from Gerry and the squad would be much stronger.

Roger Federer is the GOAT

Thank god he’s no longer our president. This is why we didn’t progress under him at all from 2007 to 2017. Completely outdated beliefs, he hindered our chances at the end of tenure sadly.

I would love to say Naps is all luck but that would be crazy. They are a better team and that hurts to say. This may sound crazy, but I think this is poli's celling.
Honestly shut up with this nonsense.

So Pioli's ceiling is 86 points. Spaletti's is what? 106 points? That is the current rate they're at. A 106 point league title, cup win and CL winners too.

It's funny, he's never shown a ceiling anywhere close to that before? Must have had it repainted.

Can everyone calm down.

Napoli will get 106 points. It's already been decided. Not by FIGC, not by Napoli or us, but by God and Mother Earth itself. There's no stopping it. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride while they get the highest point total in mainstream European competition. It's done. It's over. Go and enjoy your cornflakes.

Napoli will crumble at some point. Their current form means 100+ points which is never going to happen. The thing is that they will probably reach 80 points without any issues which is already a lot. We will likely get something over 80 points too, but we need to improve our performances.
The World Cup break can't come soon enough. Napoli as it seems have no plans to drop points in the next 2 games. Almost 2 months of break can only do them bad and should allow us to improve our form.

Napoli is a fantastic team. They have the best CB, CM, and CF in the league + Kvara who's been sensational

Even if they crumble, given what we've seen from this season, I don't think Milan will be able to capitalize

Unless something drastic changes in terms of tactics or player purchases over the break

I know Mike, Calabria, etc. will be back but given how things go more players will miss time. Also, I worry about Calabria's quality after this return, whenever he's hurt he struggles to regain form and that was a nasty injury

We're bottom of the table for set piece goals.

We've also greatly outperformed our open play xG this season (21 goals from 15.25 expected). Not good. I assumed it was going to be the opposite, that we get a lot of chances but we miss them. Turns out we're scoring a lot more than we should have. Our finishing has actually been MUCH better than expected. Our open play xG against is in line with expecations, but we're doing badly on set pieces as we all know. Conceded two more than we should have.

What the data implies (and it's still very much a low sample size at this point) is that our finishing isn't really the problem, it's the quality of our chances. We're taking shots from difficult angles instead of making sure the chance is a high probability goal. Example is when Leao shoots in front of three defenders when Giroud was free on the other side.
How is that surprising? I've been bitching about the attacking play for almost 2 years now

But what is even more ridiculous is the determination of a grown man to take his shirt off infront of thousands of people.

I agree that it’s ridiculous booking players for taking off their shirts, but the reason behind it is different to what you think it is.
According to the rules the ref must be able to identify a player at all times during the match, so in reality players get booked not because they take off their shirts but because they prevent the ref from reading the number on the back of it.

We struggled against Salzburg in the first half too. They created more than us and had some really good situations. The thing is that they managed to miss all of them. It doesn't mean that we were all over them or something. Just their big misses took their toll. Had they scored at least 1 the game would've become much much harder. It just went our way.
Can I use this excuse for our loss against Napoli?

Wonder what's going on here. My guess is Tomori angry at Tata for not falling to the ground and wasting time? Also, what the hell was Tata thinking releasing Tonali on that fast counter. Sure, it worked out (kind of) but it was a big unnecessary risk. Could have just wasted 30 seconds, kicked the ball long and went for a foul, instead we risked a counter for no reason. Tonali also should have gone to the corner and wasted time instead of trying to score a goal.

He should play more advanced, he's perfect for the DAM position we just invented. The problem is that there's no one to replace him in the double pivot
Exactly. I said we should try him in that cam position since last season, and not once did pioli try him there. That bald man always confuses me

I honestly think adli could fill whatever role tonali is currently playing

Out of the 11 completed Serie A campaigns from 2011-12 to 2021-22, the team that had the best defence won the league 10 times. Only exception was Juve winning the title by 1 point over Conte's Inter with the best defence in 2019-20.

Meanwhile, the teams with the best attack won the league just twice in the same period i.e., 2013-14 and 2014-15. Some of those teams have even finished outside CL places, like Lazio in 2017-18.
We are creating enough chances to win games, despite not playing free flowing football.
It is the defence we need to fix to win Scudetto. We concede too many clear cut goal scoring chances.
We may need to have better attacking play to dominate in Europe though but that comes later in #DaPlan.

Then the rule is even more stupid than I thought. It's not like the player could hide and vanish when he makes a brutal tackle and then took off his shirt to avoid getting booked somehow 😅

If they really want to be strict, they could simply implement a verbal warning before getting booked. There's VAR too who could keep track of the shirtless player if really needed (even if you're actually standing out more from the mass when you're the only shirtless player in the pitch).

I haven't seen enough of Adli to decide if he can do that or not  but besides that, I think the DM position should have a player who doesn't waste possession so cheaply and Adli comes across as exactly just that.
I wish we had two Tonali, one for DM and one for DAM

Last season I think towards the end he played more advanced, so it was more like a 4-1-4-1 with Bennacer as the sole DM.

Disagree

I think a better alternative would be a 3 man midfield giving him more freedom to push forward

His defensive work is too important to play solely up front
