not talking about today at all. wouldn’t make a single difference. but for the season in general, he would definitely be a more reliable option than our current options.
Pigeon, I'm fucking with you bro. I was one of the last people who liked Romagnoli, I advocated for him last year. You made fun of him. It's funny.

4-3-1-2? Silvio is that you?

The Rossoneri coach commented on his relationship with Berlusconi and if they’ve spoken this week.

“He hasn’t called me this week. In the past yes, we talked about football in general and he expressed his ideas on a tactical level, including not playing out from the back.”

clearly :b: influence:proud:

It is about transfers because the moment you take out one of our starters it becomes an emergency.

Napoli got players like Simeone and Raspadori for squad depth on loan with option/obligation to buy deals. Our management decided to bet on the likes of Pobega and Gabbia when the imminent injury was to happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if we lack backroom staff (scouts, lawyers, etc.). We act very slowly in the transfer market. Napoli was able to get A LOT done while we seem to focus on one player for weeks/months. Very likely that we've cut costs everywhere not just in the squad.

So what is it looking like?

Pioli out or in until Derby at least?
He needs to fuck off

The derby is being set up to be our greatest humiliation as of yet.

Dude got smacked 5 goals by an absolutely aweful Sassuolo.

Even Giampolo didnt reach this level of incompetence

Exactly.

If we do fall out of Cl place then the safeguards that Elliot put in place in terms of spending would actually have paid off and save us from further financial issues down the line :proud:

Didn’t Giampaolo win his last game vs Genoa and they still sacked him?

I echo this.

Sacking Pioli and getting Abate or another Brocchi style caretaker is just back to Berlusconi's final days and those were awful.

Only get rid of Pioli for a top quality manager ready to come in instead. Let us not pretend that this is a CL winning squad, it is not bad by any means but when your backups are Tata, Dest etc, it is not great.
So whats rhe solution then?

Just get your ass handed down to you every single game by anyone?

Just get some bs caretaker manager. No one can do any worse

For me personally Pioli has done more than enough to be given another season. He got us back into the top 4 and won us a league title. Injuries and a lack of support from our owners has hindered this team.

I'd be gutted if he were to be given the boot.

Pioli and the players have a lot to answer for in the last couple of games - all of them they have been poor, top 4 should have been more or less straight forward - And still can be. The injuries of Mike has been a major factor but Milan's general team form has been poor recently. I hope Pioli will start playing certain players in roles and positions where they can contribute more playing their natural game. And a key factor the defence really needs to be tactically modified to accommodate butter fingers Tata in goal. At this point I wouldn't object to Pioli going with a five man defence and countering - grinding out 1-0 wins just to reclaim ground. At least until Milan have a reliable custodian between the posts - but even with Mike back the defence have to sharp, aware and not concede stupid goals because even with mike there have been too many this year.
We've had defensive lapses, but when your keeper lets in a shot, near post, for that second goal? And then to get beat at your near post for the third? Again? Tata is escaping being destroyed because of how bad things got after his two fuckups, but I think they were crucial.

I think that our defensive strength last year, it wasn't a mirage, it just had a great keeper there. Like most great teams do. Defensively impressive teams rely on their keepers, like, they do. Milan fans don't want to accept this, and it's genuinely a unique thing to Milan fans, I'm not even joking.

I've said this before, I think our club's history is unique among the elite clubs in that we don't really have legendary keepers in our history. Rossi and Dida are the best we have, and when you compare that to the fact that we have multiple GOAT-in-their-position candidates throughout our history, Maldini, Cafu, Nesta, Baresi, Gullit, MVB, etc etc that I think we look at relying or even leaning on a keeper to be like... a faux pas. Like how Americans don't like eating french fries with mayo, even if it tastes good.

Our defenses have been so suffocating that if your keeper has bailed you out, it's as if your defense wasn't really that strong. This is a notion I have, and my theory is that it stems from our history.

Mike conceded 8 goals in 7 games. If he was there, instead of Tata, we would be in a much better position. The stats point to that, overwhelmingly.

That does NOT excuse how bad this team has been, how defensively weak we've been, and how toothless our attack is.

Pioli is also a big part of the problem, with how he has set the team up, it's truly been astonishing watching him triple down on a concept that isn't fucking working when he's used a different, more conservative approach to win the Scudetto before.

Exactly. Give the guy another season and if it doesn't work out we part ways.

Ffs some of the goals tata has conceded in the last 2 games are criminal. That's beyond Piolis control.

The thought process behind the mercato at least has to be questioned.

Kalulu filled in wonderfully but ultimately he was brought in as a RB. Now we are expect him to perform consistently (no longer just filling in) with no real viable back up.

It’s like because the stop gaps worked last season they believed they could keep doing them so they can make a meaningful investment for a big player?

Still has to be said that Pioli was originally hired as “try before you buy” kind of guy and we liked the initial performance. But in terms of incorporating new signings he’s always been iffy.

Implementing the strategy they did with the manager they chose to give an extension to? Has to be questioned a bit
there were some questionable decisions last summer. they must have had some plan but from the outside a lot of things look rather random. we should mark this year as lost and readjust in the summer. probably without pioli. i can live without scudetto but in terms of performance, this was a major step backwards.

Tuchel is available option now. In the summer options are wide open . Conte, Gasperini also i would like to gamble on Zanetti from Empoli i like his football. Milan gambled in the past with Sacchi , Allegri. Look what is De Zerbi doing with Brighton.
We aren’t going to pay for a premium manager

If Sportiello is the catalyst to rescue the season, I am all for it. Though I’m just not sure if it will be given how many other problems we have

Keepers can keep you in games when you bad spells, or bad halves, etc. I don't think we're bringing in Sportiello. They're going to wait for Maignan, and it's going to bite us in the ass.

The biggest myth that folks continue to peddle is that this is a youth project.

Just because you buy a couple of random youngsters doesnt make you a youth project, especially when the coach doesnt have the balls or a plan to integrate those said players into the team.

Florenzi
Bakayoko
Pellegri

Pobega
Adli

The sheer amount of flops management has collected in the last two seasons is just stunning. Yes, some of them have barely played but means very little because as of this moment they have contributed fuck all.

Our best signings have been a 35 yr old Giroud and Maignan (who replaced Donnarumma. And even then Maignan has been out injured for more than 50% of the games.

what i am curious about is, maldini is present at every training session. he sees the players as well. wouldn't he have put some pressure on pioli internally to play the new guys more if he had a different opinion?

If they see it as a big problem that neither Tata or Mirante can be trusted, it would be foolhardy to just expect Maignan to be Ironman after his injuries and perform immediately and not have further complications.

Again, if they see this as a big issue, then we need to see someone who can immediately step in with some justifiable stat like ones you provided and not some randos from 🇵🇾 league

Theo doesn't count? Leao doesn't count?

Are you really trying to tell us that the average age of our team is a myth?

How and why would anybody want conte here given his track record of throwing his toys out the pram if he doesn't get his way. 100% against that signing.

Gasperini is a good shout tbh 👍

Tuchel .... na we don't roll with the bundesbitches.

Not seen much of empoli so won't comment on Zanetti.

Allegri wasn't a good gamble as he had that provincial mentality. And it really showed in the ucl.

It's not as straight forward as people think in hiring a new manager. Options for our milan are limited.

My choice will always be Sarri. He doesn't need much to make some magic.

Inter are behind Napoli by 13 points, and they're 2 points ahead of us, only. So, cool it Denmark.
Will it be 2 points in a week?

I have no idea what their plans are or even what Redbird's strategy is, in the short-term, with Milan. It's crazy to me. Elliott authorized more funding than Redbird has.

The fact that Maignan isn't even scheduled to be ready yet, to me, should have made it a priority. They're acting like he just has a knock that's keeping him out for a few weeks, he's been out for months.

I don't care if the kid comes from some random league, I care if he can play or not. Apparently getting randos for low fees like Kvara is how you build a top team. Next time we get linked to a player from the Turkish league, I expect jubilation on here.
