I already gave my thoughts on the whole maldino vs. Giuntoli debate.

Even if we don't make the CL, I am excited to see how maldino will adjust.
I just think the bit about "Maldini didn't build it the same" is a bit much.

If Zaniolo comes here though...

The reports that Massara has opted for Origi are false. In fact, Kolo Muani decided against Milan and for Frankfurt. Obviously he was right to do so, when I see how Pioli deals with new arrivals and how his development is in Frankfurt.

With us, he would never have got enough playing time to make the World Cup squad.

How do you know they are false? Did Milan offer a contract to Muani? And how much did they offer him? Because Origi is making 4 mil net at Milan. According to Capology ( https://www.capology.com/player/randal-kolo-muani-36134/profile/ ) Muani is on 0.8 mil net!!

There is no fucking way he would turn down 4 mil net to sign a contract for 0.8 mil!!

Come on man...would you really say no to Barella, Chiesa, Bastoni or even Immobile with the shit we've got starting for us now? Also, Scalvini looks like a legit talent.

Lmao.

Leaos worth just halved the moment we hit Jan 31st without an extension. He is now worth 40 mil max if he goes into summer without a contract.
Huge loss ... absolute amateurs for not cashing in.

It's the only way can increase the quality of our squad by reinvesting the profit off sales like this on.

He didn't. It's okay to admit that. There are reasons that allows Giuntoly to make certain moves that maldino can't make. I have been defending maldino against the allegations of "can't sell" but no more excuses for Leao.

If Zaniolo comes here though...

Monacada looks at many things besides stats. He goes and watches the players in person and also sends the scouts under him. Apparently he went to Argentina to watch Enzo `F. Also part of the data analysis of players is assigning transfer values.

Hauge was bought for 4-5 mil and sold for around 12-14 mil. So far the price it was a good transfer. Moncada could recommend a player for 5 mil but not the same player if he is going for 20 mil. The same for Saladmaker, for the price paid he was a decent transfer.

Modern data analysis tools look at many things including how a player's characteristics align with the playing style of the team.
Hauge was a good transfer in terms of profit/value, no doubt. I used him a an example for the difference between statistical and practical impact.

I don't doubt that Moncada does all of that. My point is that one cannot say that he wouldn't be recommended by Moncada.

It's true bruh.

Every single big club is currently stacked with top quality wingers.

Most will choose to wait over burning a hole in their pocket.

Maybe Newcastle ? But that's about it and that's a club with unlimited budget to chase whomever they want.

You are basing on who gets "building credit" based on who sold more players? That's the thing I don't agree with.

You could argue that Guintoli inherited a much stronger squad in 2015, far more assets to sell than Maldini had when he took over.

I guess because Moncada in his recent interview said that there is much better value for talents in the French league. I maybe be wrong, but Zaniolo just seems to be the profile that Maldini / Massara like. Apparently Maldini even liked him in the summer but Roma wanted something like 40 mil.

Viola reportedly rejected a 40 m bid (loan+option) from Barcelona for Amrabat, because 'it wasn't close to their valuation'. Italians are going full re-tard these days...

Just because we offered Origi that doesn't mean we offered or would have offered Muani that.

So that's a big fucking mistake then! As both were free and Muani is the much better player. And given that Muani is on 0.8 mil, he would probably even accepted 2.5 - 3 mil by Milan!

But that's the job of the SD to see which are the better players after studying them, analysing stats, sending scouts, watching videos, maybe going to watch the player.....

Smart move in this case.

Pretty sure they would have accepted the deal if it were a loan with an obligation to buy.

Well done fio 👍

I also think what role you get offered also comes into play, particularly for players who plan out their careers.

I think someone who opts for Frankfurt over more flashy options is someone who has longer term vision and is much more deliberate as to what would maximize their career. Giroud is here, he wouldn't be getting the chances he gets in Frankfurt, nor the latitude for error.

I guess because Moncada in his recent interview said that there is much better value for talents in the French league. I maybe be wrong, but Zaniolo just seems to be the profile that Maldini / Massara like. Apparently Maldini even liked him in the summer but Roma wanted something like 40 mil.
I hate Zaniolo. But the fact he is Italian has to come into play, because the rules make it so that we actually need players trained in Italy. That element of building our squad is coming into sharp focus and it is another element that hurts us.

Pogba injured again  He's been at juventus for over 6 months and still doesn't have a single minute on the field  Some people here were actually jealous of this move :fp:
Clubs take gambles. Juve gambled a lot with Pogba, Di Maria and Milik. Some pay off some won't. We took a lot of gamles too with Origi, Florenzi, Messias etc. For us this season almost all of them flopped and people will hit Maldini over the head with it. But it was always a gamlble we were taking (mostly forced by limitted budget).

Now halfway through the season Milik >> Origi, but if someone said in the summer that we should go for Milik instread of Divock 90% of commode would laugh (me included). Now Origi already has 2 bangers and can turn it around and Milik being Milik can get injured any time. Things can turn quickly and so the opinions will also turn. Reactionism and short memories.

There is always some player out there that is currently doig well that people can bicker about. When Pogba gets out of this rut and starts performing we will hear the "we should have signed him" again. And at this point Dybala will get long term injury and the Dybala "fans" will get quiet for a while. With hidsight there's always ammunition.

Getting dest was horrible move....he is a trash player...decent for serie A...but hes on topplayer wages....
absolutely terrible

embarasssing
origi florenzi ok maldini sure thats unlucky partly...but giving huge contracts to players with known questionabe fitness
terrrrrrible move

bakayoko>>>> rly making an amateur out of maldini and massara..i hope massara and that paolo isnt responsible

Renewing this trash ****** pioli

many many bad moves..but its clear guys
our mgmt are definitely not professionals...lets be realistic and humble
Dest was a final day last transfer to replace an injured back up RB. and also it is just a loan. We needed a back up RB with 1 day left in the transfer market, and he was once a high potential player for Barca

The Bakayoko deal to permanently sign him after 15 games and 2 year loan was pretty dumb.

Florenzi injuries with us have not been like Origis. Origi muscle injuries are fucking annoying but Florenzi has had a serious and unlucky injury.

A lot of these bad moves that people keep highlighting, at the time they were made were actually not bad at all and it was exactly what we needed. The fact that they didn't work out, or haven't thus far is a completely different story. Most of them were exactly what we needed if it worked out.

They did pay like 20m for him and they just saw Enzo go for 120m after a good six months and world cup hype.

The fact they are going for him really makes the Kessie move even weirder.

If Kessie went to Chelsea, Man Utd, Bayern, or even Spurs, places where they could really maximize a player like him, I think we would be seeing him emerge as a truly top tier talent. Of all our free players, he made the worst career move of them all, by far.

Kolo Muani signed a pre-contract all the way in March. We also had Ibra, Giroud, and potentially even Rebic ahead of him.

We aren't that attractive for a young player who's looking to springboard into a big move. And Muani is a move that many other big clubs "missed", maybe he wanted more playing time with less pressure instead of having to adapt for 2 years and then being asked to renew under the value he feels he is worth (Leao)

based on who's able to maintain more of continuity with the club, so far.

That's why I am not worried if we don't make CL, maldino will have his chance to right the course.

The fact that Pioli said that is waiting Ibra to come back in order to fix the issues in the team shows clearly he is not competent to do his job. Also, did Maldini really snubbed the chance to sign Enzo ?
Yes for Adli.

Again, now in hindsight it is an atrocious move.

But if you are to compare 2 players right now, who play similar position and one has played in France Ligue 1 60-70games in last 2 seasons while also making team of the year, While the other only played for river plate, what would you do?

Cost of the deal was above what they wanted to spend on a mid - think it was around 18m for 75% of his rights was the rumour - I think we went from hoping to get Renato for free then up to 15 mill. We looked at Onyedika for 7-11 and settled on Vranckx which is loan with option for 11.

While we were contemplating if to buy Enzo or Onyedika, Benfica stepped in and closed for him - thats what I deduced from all the reporting.
we were interested in Enzo a year earlier then that, and signed Adli instead. This was a follow up of when we were looking at him again, but held out for a more experienced player in sanches and then got fucked all around
